  • Have to hear this one at lest once a month. Love it. I was very young, But I remember.

  • wwwgreatbuyoutletscom wwwtopfuelsavercom Of all these bounds, even from this line to this,

With shadowy forests and with champains riched,

With plenteous rivers and wide-skirted meads, Unhappy that I am, I cannot heave

My heart into my mouth. The bow is bent and drawn. Make from the shaft. Enter EDMUND the bastard, with a letter Thou, nature, art my goddess. To thy law

My services are bound. Wherefore should I

Stand in the plague of custom and permit

The curiosity of nations to deprive me

  • Heard this on House.I'm glad I did :)

  • i know chuck had his drug problems but he is still a great singer.

  • can someone tell me what is the meaning of ;

"Two can be as bad as one

It's the loneliest number since the number one" ??

  • @jeddillinger I think he means that sometimes being in an unsatisfying relationship (that's the "two") can be just as bad as being alone.

  • @schepler2 thanks :D

  • haha those guys fail at looking cool, but their music is fucking awesome!

  • BRAVO !

  • I saw these guys in 1967 - my first concert! I still remember it, almost 45 years later. Tickets were, I think, $7 or $7.50 and I thought it was outrageous. Music still sounds good.

  • What about 3

  • didn't this guy's dick explode from having too much groupie sex??

  • @Evoken13 ask your mom

  • @fabfamily2009 at least my mom has female reproductive organs/genitalia unlike your "mom"

  • lol i heard this song wem i was small then thanks 2 family guy i hear it again hahaha

  • s03 ep17 of Family Guy

  • fuckers dont know how to get dressed and used their glittery curtains on their rooms.... and tried to copy of the beatles style, you need to create your own style, not copy one, thats why camaro never catched up with the mustang...

  • This is truly a classic! Fond memories listening to it as a kid and now that I´m nearly hitting fifty, I still love it!!

  • this reminds me of doctor house

  • wowza i didn't know aimee mann's version was a cover?! fantastic song nevertheless..

  • 2 can be as badass one?

  • I love how he hits that note at 1:39, sounds a bit like Michael McDonald.

  • @detroitMC313 yeah I agree, i can't get enough of Michael Mcdonald's songs

  • Let's see comments...

Hmm people owning some guy named fumetti...

    He was probably an idiot...

    *can't find fumetti's comment*

    hmm...

  • In 1967.....most of the white groups took the year off. The Beatles had done from making to music to anti-war crud. Even the Beach Boys went "psycho-delic." To fill the vacuum of the radio tundex top 40, soul music infested our ears.....Three Dog Night, the Turtles, and a few others kept us suburbian white kids from going nuts.....

  • @BradinPhilippines They never did anti war songs that was Lennons solo stuff I dont know how you think that Sgt Peppers is crud and that top 40 is better and soul music is awesome you should listen to more sly and the family stone and grateful dead plus the turtles and three dog night were apart of the hippie scene......

  • Amazing song, old, but amazing!

  • @damnSamz old is amazing :)

  • great song

  • You know, I heard this when i was like 7 (11 years ago) an i was sure it was the beetles, but you sir have proven me mistaken. Thankyou.

  • @Fyropyro420 me 2

  • forever al-one

  • heard as a kid while watching recess schools out, loved it.

  • love the song, hate that crap going across, messed up my buzz

  • I love the chord progression and the melody of this song. What a great song written by Harry Nilsson. And Chuck did a marvelous rendition of Harry's song. What a vocal range. I can't hit those notes.

  • Chuck had a great voice and he was sort of the hippie of the band. But he had drug problems and then the band became more and more soft rock oriented. This song had an edge to it but most of their hits were too saccrine like radio jingles.

  • You can't sing this without bell bottoms, long hair, and platform shoes. MAN i miss the 70's and all the talent from the era.

  • Great song, great video

  • House M.D brought me here this an excellent song

  • this used to be my theme song! After my husband died :(

  • shanghai nights

  • Taking a trip tonight with one of the bad aZZ vocal bands ever . You really had to live through the late 60tys to early 70 tys to reallty appreciate what they did for the rock and soul area of the time. Love It !

  • I kinda want to wear one of those outfits. Rock that to school.

  • The guy in orange shirt sure is stoned :P

  • 40 likes and i dubstep this

  • The bassist is having the time of his life! :P

  • Is there anybody out there that can correberate "Has Three Dog Night been inducted to The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame???!!!! If they have not been I am totally AGHAST!!!!

  • @farwayout Sorry, but Three Dog Night is not in the RRHOF. To the best of my knowledge, I don't believe they have ever been nominated for induction either.

  • Love the commentary on the bottom

    "...they are not Eskimos..."

  • when was this on family guy?

  • @MsUno1000 Brian Wallows and Peter's Swallows, season 3 episode 17

Peter grows a beard in that episode and Brian start to date an old lady.

  • @whatAbadman oh thanks, turns out I had seen that episode hehehe

  • Recess is where i heard this song from, i love FG but i never heard it there...

  • Most useless and annoying backup singers ever!

  • 0:25 arrg that guy behind him is so annoying! like, what is he even doing?!

  • @CabloGames He's the second vocalist (there's 3), but he's only got a part at the end. So he just stands there...

  • ha ha !! I shazamed this song from family guy !

  • @backlashsid Oh geez! Come on, this song is also real. Just because i was on Family Guy doesn't make it popular, it was always awesome.

  • this was mad when my dad was born.

  • This really rock my world....now I spend my time makin rhymes of yesterday.

  • This song is for all of you who dont have 2 nuts.

  • @sk8ter6788 That would probably include my sister.

  • Fresh Prince!

  • was this song on the simpsons???

  • It is a total travesty that this band is not in The Hall Of Fame !!!

  • @duhercik52 I agree with you 100%!

  • How many of you want his leather pants?

  • Thank goodness we had the great 60s, 70s and fading 80s to look back B4 these RAP rotty Neanderthal moves we see with them current rappers are doing... wasn't born back then... there's more weird craps with violent crimes rising out of the kids today... far from our peaceful though hippy & underground it was, we had a cause against the war in Vietnam... these days, the kids wants to kill only from the games they are into & see what they are now into??? Yearning for attention is their problem!!

  • look at those clothes and hair cuts....im so glad i wasnt alive in that decade

  • Wow I heard this when I was like 5 lol. I never knew this was Three Dog Night, and I never knew it was called One lol. Like the Metallica song :P

  • Australia's Aboriginial peoples use "Three Dog Night", also, to describe a super cold night.

Yes, One is the loneliest number. Timeless, gorgeous song.

  • awesome

  • Fantastic, Thank You!

  • inb4 forever alone

  • 20 ppl count from 2 ...

  • First time I heard that in Family Guy :] lovely :D

  • Every song they released hit the top 30: FOUR number one singles, 10 top tens, 21 top 40 hits, gold and platinum albums galore, top touring American band of the early 70s...and not in the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame. BULLCRAP!

  • @fumetti Popularity status (among fans and the general public) is probably of minimal importance as a factor in deciding which band or singer is inducted into Cleveland's Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame.

It is really the popularity of a band or singer among her/his peers AND the industry types (deejays, record company personnel, music critics) that detemines initial eligibility for the R&R HOF, not popularity among fans and the public. And even then, many acts are rejected each year.

  • @fumetti But this is not unique to a music or artistic HOFs. Think of the sports HOFs, as those for baseball (Cooperstown, NY) and basketball (Springfield, MA). It is a player's fellow players and teammates, coaches, managers, team owners, sports announcers and journalists who determine a player's eligibility and induction, not the fans of a player or team.

So there are rules and processes for any HOF induction.

  • @fumetti I know one rule for the R&R HOF is a band or singer must have released its first record 25 years before becoming eligible.

In addition, there are some non-perfiorming inductees each year, persons who contributed to the industry in other ways. That also exists in sports' HOFs, for team owners, legendary sports writers, etc.

The People's Choice Awards and The Video Music Awards are fan-based honors for entertainers. So those are some venues for fan and general public popularity.

  • its the 60s man everyone was on LSD and wearing groovy crap

  • 0:02 - 2:55 is the best part

  • What's with the guy on scarf?

  • @nzmoores Hickies

  • whats up with the guy in the stripped pants?? is he just supposed to stand there for no reason? and they have a black man on drums....?

great song though :D i wish i was born in the 60s instead of the 90s :( such a great band

  • @styxlover908 at 2:02 they sing

  • @styxlover908 If you were born in the '60s, like I was, you would have still been too young to fully enjoy the era. I was just 6 years old in 1969. :) I think the ideal era to have been born would probably have been the late 40's or early '50's so you'd be in your teens or early twenties by the late '60's. :)

  • @styxlover908 Of course. Floyd Sneed. He's also Canadian.

  • @RancidGravy coolio :) i like Canada, took an Alaskan cruise up there so i got to see Canada :D

  • @ 2:11 either those pants are superlatively tight or its striped oants...

  • @HydrauIics lol, that could be why. haha. Well, now you have a new word to say. :)

  • I heard it in a Simpson?s episode=)

  • I'm no expert percussionist but that drummer looks odd holding those sticks like that.

  • 72 is the loneliest number

  • It's the mustache lifestyle, Brian.

  • I don't know if it is true, but I heard on the radio that Chuck Negron was found wasted in a vacant building. He hit rock bottom. Glad to have him back!
