Remember these pencil cases back in the 1980's. They were very sought after in my elementary school in Fresh Meadows, Queens NY (introduced by Japanese students)... They were very hard to find back in the 80's. The only place you could find one, was in New York City's Chinatown. Still have one in my parents garage...

it's a pencil case for geek students. i grew up with these things in the philippines and back then, the more buttons and gadgets your pencilcase has, the more "arsenal" you'll have. i got one similar to this... but had a classmate with a built in donkeykong game n watch.... so i failed.

u kno the small drawer compartment r 4 those tomo erasers. to get it out hav 2 pop it out from the bottom once the compartment is open, etc. 1 of my eldest cousin had the starwars then handit down it 2 me like 23 yrs ago (when 4)... i had few others cases as well...

this was required by the schools in Japan as a mandatory school supply... I went to the elementary school in Shizuoka-ken in the 90's and the teacher told me off for bringing a simple pencil bag...in the middle of class..."This is a prime example of what NOT to bring to school."
