Tracy Chapman is a woman! Her voice is very low and also very unique. I can assure you though she is a woman. When I first heard this song years ago I pressumed it was a male vocalist. Through a single internet search though, I discovered I was wrong and she is in fact a woman. Wikipedia and several other sites as a lot of information on this woman, her life story and her singles. I would reccomend checking them out if you think she is a man. I will always love her and her music and this song! x
