I would use this very music while visiting a Museum of Mummies. Imagine the creeps and the feeling of unease it would give on the unsuspecting public...
This song literary blew my mind the first time i saw Nosferatu, it fitted perfectly. Popol Vuh are one hell of a band I tell you. The second thing that blew my mind was Isabelle Adjani, who's beauty is unmatched. I was afraid I was going to melt..
@luckysilviano I agree completely. I saw the original Nosferatu before Herzog's, and I gotta say there are very few remakes that add to the mythology of the film and its concept in the way that his version did. Simply awe inspiring. Like mist caressing a mountain side, Herzog's Nosferatu teases the brain with obscure notions of beauty and truth, all the while maintaining its mystique. Not just a film, but an experience!
this was one of the rare REAL vampire movies. Twilight is not playing at this level by a looooong shot. The only other vampire films coming close are the original Nosferatu and Bram Stoker's Dracula; i like how Herzog lets the images and the music speak for themselves.
@Regenmacher175 My favorite is the 1931 bram Stocker Dracula the spanish version. i recently found out the filmed the english and the spanish version at the same time. The english version films at the day and spanish at the night. what made it the spanish version more succesfull is that they could watch the english version on the monitor and make it better.
scary but beautiful is a good way to describe this music. it fit perfectly with the movie. like it was tailor made for herzog's long shots. this was playing when nosferatu's ship was traveling to the city, bringing darkness and plague. this movie never truly leaves you after you see it. it haunts you for days.
Just get a 5 dollar a month Napster subscription, and stream pretty much all of their albums, or you can pay 10 more a month & have the ability to add songs to your portable mp3 player. I'm listening to Bruder des Schattens right now, the full 18 minute version!

The mysterious music feels like wandering inside a haunted, dark, desolate castle... Scary but beautiful! 10/10!

This is seriously one of my favorite pieces of music ever. I don't care that a large chunk of it is only two notes. It heals my brains.
