  • I watched this great show on tv back in end of '88

  • Nobody mentions the harp player extraordinaire in note here... Paul Butterfield. From the obvious Paul Butterfield Blues Band. RIP

  • why does heaven have all

albert king was everyones teacher no could bend strings like him

  • these guys are the blues.speechless

  • Stevie Ray Vaughan!

  • I've been into the blues since the days when frogs still had hair on their backs.

Stevie is definitely a student of Albert.

  • @truthdefender54 dude you have to see the dvd of them playing in Canada it was awesome to see them feeding off each other and to see stevie stumble for the first time ever it was classic stuff

  • On this song I wish BB never played on.

  • Oo What a performance.

  • Great video. Little known fact for the young folk. Albert was not only Stevie's inspiration, but also his teacher. If you listen closely, Their notation, note, style, and air, is identical...However Stevie was faster because he used a plectrum and Albert used his fingers.

  • @capitalismforme You'r right sir. Is there anyone today playing like Albert and then I mean LIKE Albert, not á la Stevie style. ??

  • @iConquerYou Not that I've seen and for good reason....I don't think they can. The only one I can think of is Jeff Beck. However, Jeff hasn't put out anything relating to this style for many years. Although, I think he could. The tone the nail and finger produces, in my opinion, is supreme to the plectrum. However, there's always a trade off in everything you choose.

  • @capitalismforme I only play with my thumb. Sometimes I wish i could play with a pick for the speed and stinging tone. I have tried to play with a pick but I just can't play.

  • @capitalismforme - and Albert did not originally like this fact and accused Stevie of stealing his licks (on one live recording I have and he aint messin'). B.B. King (allegedly) took Albert on one side and explained that what SRV was actually doing was telling everyone who would listen to him that Albert was the boss and they should all go buy his records and find out for themselves..... then he took him under his wing.

  • Is that Paul Butterfield on harmonica?

  • @showmesoul Yes

  • loved alberts solo

  • Interplay between true masters is always amazing!

  • I seriously can not believe I'm with the first 2500 views of this vid......watch and behold.......

  • about Albert King... he use a reverse chords setting. i.e. he plays on a right-hand guitar without get reversing chords! incredible! how on Earth does he do?

  • @Aniva66 it looks to me like that is a left handed guitar because of where the volume knobs and input jack are located but it is strung like a right handed guitar. either way it's simply amazing

  • Would like to have been there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • this is total gold
