Yeah alot of people say this but unfortunately it wouldn't work because the circuit board couldnt handle the voltage difference and it might not seem like it but an extra battery would add too much weight. You have to think scale, its like adding another v8 to a corvette. huge weight gain.

@angelizquier1 Go LiPo. Much less weight. Two 3.7v LiPos (6.4v) would probably be around half the weight of one NiMH in the ZZs. Also, many people have dual celled or even tripple celled zipzaps before the PCB over-volted.

Speedy little thing. Ever thought of racing it against a late model gen 1 Zip Zap with the same set-up?

I know that these gen 2's have more voltage but the gen 1's have a lighter chasis.

Also, you might want to try all season tires for better handling.

Running the Zip Zap like that on the floor will ruin it fast. You should run the car only on a track. If you run it on the floor at all it will pick up hair and lint. It gets caught in the axles and it's difficult to get out. It will cause the car to lose speed, lock up, or pull to one side, or all of the above. I run mine on a track only....never on the floor.

xmods are way better than zip zaps because you can actually control them. Zip zaps are too small to do any kind of modding to. I don't know. thats pretty cool. i guess.

Yeah zip zaps are hard to control but there are mods you can do to improve speed and control. Extra wide tires are available and they improve control and turns. I am an RC car enthusiast anywhere from 1:64 scale zip zap to 1:10 scale nitro RC. I just love RC cars in any size.

A man I had a question bout zip zaps, i have a cop car zip zap from transformers, aka barricade and also an xmod zip zap which i think is a 67 mustang, but for some reason i changed the gearing of the cop car to red gears on the rear and a fast turbo motor, but for some reason my cop car still operates at the same speed then it did with the blue gears. and the xmod mustang is twice as fast.

Hey, I was trying to provide a graph for you I found online a while back that shows what gears and motor combos are best and how they are different. By my knowlege, I can tell you that the green transfer gear and green differential are the ones with the least teeth so therefore will give you less acceletation but a bit more top speed than the blue and red. Red is the one with most teeth so will give you better acceleration but a bit less top speed and the NX is the fastest motor for zip zap.

well mine has NX motor, all red gears and slick tires. I also always keep all gears lubricated. oh and its the zip zap SE if it makes a difference.

the NX motor is the nitrous express motor for the zip zaps its the purple one and fastest one made for zip zap its only available in upgrade kits such as fast and the furious kit and initial D kit
