If you wanted to do that, you would look at how the grip safety is a ledge under the sear and go from there to make it not a ledge that catches under the sear.
Do you have to take the auto take-down assembly out to remove the grip safety? I've noticed some "Gunk" collecting on the edges of the grip safety, and I'd like to remove it to give it a good cleaning. I don't want to remove more than I have to though. Thanks for your feedback!

excellent video helped me with my xd i was in the process of polishing all moving parts and was angry to see there wasnt a full take down manual with the gun thanks alot though very very helpfull
is there a way to remove the grip safety from the gun? i'm not sure if that's the "auto takedown" feature you mention. if it is not, what is the "auto takedown" feature do?
Damn this grip safety spring is a pain in the ass. I have been trying for the last half hour. doing it exactly like you are in the vid. but the safety itself wont go into the frame with out dislodging the spring. you put it in effortlessly. i dont know what it wrong.
Practice helps. You can use the shaft of a Q-Tip trimmed to the width of the safety to retain the spring and use it as a slave pin if you need a "third hand."
Excellent information.

If I wanted to disable the grip safety, so that I did not have to ensure the grip safety was depressed to fire the gun, how would I do this?

@ArmedCivilian556 File the top of it off where it blocks the sear.

@FiveTwoSevenTHR Do you have a video showing this? Will that interfere with the gun's overall performance?
ArmedCivilian556 2 months ago
@ArmedCivilian556 I don't have a video since I still have mine but by looking at it, it works by solely blocking the sear from moving.

Ok! thanks! Your video's are a great help! keep it up! :)

Yes, the springs will come out and you need to remove the sear to get to the safety.

remove the sear pin for the safety you mean? Do I have to worry about the spring coming out?
Jpagemusic 1 year ago
Yes, but if you just remove the sear, you can clean the safety.

@stvebnny4
Ah, with the sear in, it would be a bit tricky.
Safe shooting!

That was very imformative. Can you do one on the firing pen channel and ejector's removal and cleaning?
