i thank him for making a trip down to the olympia theatre down here in downtown miami, fl. definitely one of the most pleasant and lasting performance/experience i can remember.
Honestly, when I was first introduced to the group Bright Eyes by an intresting looking girl in my English class i wasn't too optimistic. I was however curious. I put the CD in and heard a few tracks and thought it was garbage. I thought,"guy cant sing." But for some reason I kept listening. By the third time I listened to IM WIDE AWAKE ITS MORNING they had become my favorite group of that time period in my life, eventually my favorite artist of all time surpassing 2pac. Connor is a genius.
Clearly you have a good appreciation for poetry. I kind of know what you mean -- the first Bright Eyes song I ever heard was First Day of My Life, which is nice and well written but it doesn't exemplify the intensity of Conor's mind, so I wasn't intrigued to look further until months later when I ended up buying Wide Awake, Digital Ash and Noise Floor in one afternoon :P
nah, playing w/o a pick like that actually doesnt hurt as much as it seems, doesnt hurt me at all. i think its probably just preference. i never use picks, reguardless the situation. idk thats just me though.
if you agree that it doesnt hurt press thumbs up, if dissagree thumbs down. LETS GET THE POPULAR VOTE TO DECIDE.
wow, i heard this in bielefeld 2005 .. found an audio stream of this somewhere a few months ago and now a video:-) and it's going to be on teh album, too! great. love the song. but which bright eyes song could be an exception;-)
i saw them last night - they opened with this song, and it was fantastic. i've seen them do it a couple of times now. like landlocked blues, which was around ages but only got released on i'm wide awake, this is another oldie that i'm v pleased to discover will be on cassadaga. woop!
Yeah, thank you so much for filming this! The quality is great! It's so nice to hear this song played by the full band. I've just heard acoustic versions of this song prior to this.

Yes it is in fact Jake Bellows. The Bright Eyes band played the Neva song "yellow datsun," during this set as well.

I love this line : In truth the forest hears each sound, each blade of grass as it lays down. The world requires no audience! No wittnesses!

he doesnt use a pick in any song does he?
samerika 4 years ago
no... dont think so.. the man must have bleeding fingers all the time
johan371 3 years ago
i noticed by watching live performances of bright eyes, that conor uses picks in some songs, for example "an attempt to tip the scales".
By the way does anyone know what amplifier that is?
