haha. Yeah...our school bell annoys me. Does if have to be so annoying...especially when your taking a test..and the 2 minute bell rings...and ugh. lol And any time there is a firedrill, as soon as we're back in the building: "Please diregard.." haha.
these things must be hella old because I cant find any info on them or pics, id like to hook my car stereo to 2 of these (stereo) ive heard music on these things and it sounds really good lots of bass and hi clarity
They were still being made as late as 2001 is all I know. Thats when they were installed at my school. They replaced an older Simplex clock system/speaker baffle from the 1960s that was the same shape so maybe this is some type of retrofit kit to fit in the same hole in the wall as the older model?
well i tried googling simplex clock PA speaker combo and nothing came up just a bunch of junk, and nothing came up for pictures are there any model numbers you can think of that i can try, also you know those sensormatic alarm boxes on the wall that play an alarm or recorded voice when you walk out of a store with something without paying, there is no info or pics about those either
i can get a picture of the clock that says simplex but thats about it unless i took the whole unit apart which i wouldn't be able to do. also at my school the plates are mounted the other way around (the unit would be 90 degrees than the one in this video, with the clock on the left and the speaker on the right)
thats the way they were in my school a square speaker grille on the right and a clock on the left but there was a different kind of these it had a clock on the right and a speaker on the left the same size as the clock face

They took down the old IBM bells and old clocks (unknown manufacturer) and replaced them with those Simplex clock/speaker combos, that had a class-change tone over the PA system
well im trying to find pictures of them even videos and even maybe a place i can find them, id like to get 2 of them and hook them to my car stereo and have a 4 speaker setup
id like to get 2 of those and build a speaker case for them. ive heard music thru these things and they sound really good with lots of bass. and I will try those numbers.

Oh, they're probably there to stay. They installed them in 2003. The school originally didn't have clock/PA combo units when it was built in 1954.

The clock and the PA speaker i think is a 6310 - 9239 because i have one of the clocks.
