  • True duals two independent pipes off each header with its own muffler on each* lots more details in what I just said but that's basically what it is

  • True duals means two separate mufflers for each pipe unlike a stock set up which is one pipe and one muffler or regular duals which is one muffle and some sort of Y pipe or something and two pipes coming out of it just because it doesn't have two straight pipes doesnt make it true duals that would be called straights which is a straight pipe no muffler or you can have true dual straights which is two independent pipes coming off your headers (true duals) then followed by your cats and then a st

  • The truck sounds great, but you forgot the burnout. As far as not being true if it has an x or h pipe, that's hogwash. I don't know the last time I've seen anybody do a 2 straight pipe install since they discovered the equal pressure helps develop more torque back in the 80's or whenever.

  • Lol. This is not Y piped or X piped. I see no x and i see no y. This guy cut is OEM Y pipe right after his cats and continued them as 2 single pipes running into their own magnaflow mufflers and tailpiped out the sides. True duals to me, love the sound man.

  • ill pass...

  • thats not true duals bro, there would be two straight pipes out of the engine.

  • 2 mufflers or 1?

  • @mountaincat1000 There is two.

  • whats the part number for that xpipe?

  • @xOoA7XoOx The X was custom fabricated in the exhaust shop by my installer, integrated in the intermediate pipes. Magnaflow makes the best separate X pipes but you pay well for them.

  • lol thats not true dual. true dual stays dual all the way from the motor. if its x piped or y piped its not true dual.

  • too quiet

  • if you want a really loud sound, you go with cherry bomb glasspacks. i got true dual glass packs on my 96 f150 5.0L and it was the best sound ive ever heard. i shit you not.

  • nice truck love the sound

  • dual mufflers but still has an X pipe. exhaust flow from opposite banks have crossed.... not a true dual.

  • do u just have 1 magnaflow muffler or 2? if 1 how did u get the dual exhaust with it?

  • @mountaincat1000 You can not tell it has dual mufflers? They are side by side, 4"s apart from each other before the axle.

  • legal? or to loud?

  • @mountaincat1000 This isn't loud by any means.

  • u got all 4 cats

  • @SuperCraxyboy Yes, at the time this was all 4 OEM converters.

  • That was the best year for that truck

  • @joshpurr96 i got the 2006 and its been perfect to me.

  • @joshpurr96 Yeah they did good with the 04/08 body, not too many bad problems except for the spark plugs in 5.4L 3v issue and the 2005 Injectors. This 04 was fair, had its share of issues, only mildly. I currently have a 2007 Supercrew Lariat. Absolutely love it.

  • @DarrenWS6 i got a 2011 F150 with the 5.0 in it...its bad ass and im looking to put some magnaflows or flowmasters or borla exhaust on it...i cant make up my mind.

  • @eastside900 Borla is the best. Go for the ProXS muffler for a toned sound, XR-1 for aggression.

  • @DarrenWS6 I just got the 05 a couple months ago i have heard of the spark plug issues. what is the problems with the injectors? I made sure i got an extended warranty already had the rear pinion seal replaced due to leakage. otherwise I love my truck and cant wait for dual exhaust yours sounds awesome

  • @shaunober The injectors on some 05s may stay open causing the cylinder to fill with fuel and hydro lock. Good deal hope it works out for ya.

  • where is the x pipe? looks like you just cut out the stock y pipe

  • @Twigfromva The two pipes were cut at the sides and welded together.

  • @DarrenWS6 that´s not X pipe. :D :D lol.

did you go to school, and learn, what is Y and what is X?

    this shit is Y pipe.

  • @foxxxyn I don't know how some people have their head to far up their ass that seeing dual midpipes indicates a Y pipe... wow. It is not a separate X pipe, both pipes were cut at their sides about 1.75"s and jointed. It leaked a little later which needed tig welded more. It was not Y piped the least bit and its very obvious. It looks more like no cross over than having a Y pipe.

  • dam that sounds goooood!

  • How much did it cost you to get that installed?

  • @bigmike541000 Check the description its listed.

  • great song, great truck, great vid

  • @dpuck05 Thank you

  • i have a 2004 f150 and want a new exhaust. i want something that sounds good but is not overpowering wat do you suggest

  • @stjbrother Magnaflow 14" single in dual out with 3.5" tips. Good sound, not over bearing, and a low idle, not real quiet.

  • Where is the x pipe

  • @heatherandpaul2 Integraded in the exhaust pipes, it is not a separate X pipe cross over piece.

  • You're good at editing videos, which software do use to edit? Do you know of any decent free programs available for download? Thanks.

  • @02LM7 I use Sony Vegas 8.0. It is not free however you can get 30 day trials of Sony Vegas programs on Sony.com.

  • Hooray for using an original song, and KORN, too!

  • I dont think ive ever heard a better sounding actual performance exhaust. looks great also. where did you buy the smooth bent system?

  • @dplusb Thanks. The shop made it themselves.. I filmed partials of the fabrication and install as seen in the first 2 minutes.

  • @DarrenWS6 i just had a Jaw Dropper Performance chip installed on my 04 with a 5.4, it was 20 bucks, heard of them? your opinion is more than welcomed being a fellow Ford-Men

  • @ThirdNUnion Chips on these high ECM controlled generation vehicles are a bad risk, the only proper way for computer reprogramming and performance tune is to get custom tuned. I would never run a chip of any sorts. I have a PHP Gryphon custom tuned, Truck runs great and healthy.

  • they did a really nice job on that. even on both sides to.

  • @edl350 Not quite, I wish the intermediate pipes were more straight and the left tailpipe being angled down a pinch more but not too bad.

  • no offense but my one single pipe on my 5.4 founds better

  • no offense but my one sigle pipe on my 5.4 founds better

  • @Boother4 Get the facts right, brand new flow through mufflers will be quiet when new and take longer to break on on cooler temp running true duals. As the system currently in this truck now has, no single pipe could compete.

  • @DarrenWS6 Very true. The true duals can not be beat as far as sound goes. I cant stant the sound of the single in /dual out crap.

  • You look pretty gay drivin up and down the road like that. get a real truck, silverado 2500HD

  • @Motocrosguy721 Nice worthless comment. I did have a piece of shit Silverado, 2005 2500HD, master cyl went, steering pump went, and a piston slapped, all on a 40,000 mile truck. Dont know why I gave GM a chance, happy to be back in Ford.

  • @DarrenWS6 That F150 is much sexier than any GM truck.

  • @Motocrosguy721 Real Truck...Obama motors!!!! I don't think so! Ford is the best truck in the world...grow up Chew-matchbox lover.

  • @Motocrosguy721 Its probably your dads truck too.. dont get on youtube and brag about your truck...im sure a guy with a bigger 3500 HD could say the same to you. or a guy with a F250 super duty with either the 5.4l or powerstroke diesel could say the same. heck, even a dodge.

  • i had flowmaster put on mine...from cats back to duals coming out in front of the rear tires it sound badazzz ill put a vid up maybe on thanksgiving

  • @lockerzkrazy Hate Flowmasters sound and slugging performance flow. Currently have Dynomax Bullets, roars in a deep aggressive tone. Much better.

  • @DarrenWS6 well its all how u run it.. to me the best set up would be 2 1/4 inch pipe with flowmaster super 44s in front of rear tires

  • Fuckin pussy that sounds like shit grow some balls and make it louder ya puss or are you to scared that you'll get a ticket.

  • umm i was wondering how much did that cost because im planning on getting a exuast system on my 2009 f150?

  • @MoUnTiAnDeW4life All of this exact work was $490. I have since changed mufflers and some more work and have over $700 invested.

  • would adding exhaust be a gas waster or actually improve my truck??

  • @dan1sg Never a waste to put a custom exhaust on a V8 truck. Economic gains are there if you buy a cat-back. True duals are low end torque killers, meant more for WOT racing, but sound great, which was my goal.

  • Thanks for the feedback, I'll let you know how it all turns out, I've been checking with various shops but no one has a mandrel machine, not even any of the meineke dealers that I've talked to so far; I have the straight lengths of ss pipe (T409) I guess I have no way around having to deal with the pipe being crimped at this time, I imagine this will cause some restriction, I'll be happy to get as close to the beautiful sound that you got and some noticeable performance improvement.

  • First I'd like to say I was truly impressed with your setup, so much so that I'm in the process of having my 2004 F150 Super crew fashioned as was yours'. I don't know anything about this stuff so is there anything that I should explain to the installer(s) I've already been told by two different shops that I can't delete the 2 cats. I'm in NJ. Any words of wisdom from the "Great Jedi"? They (shops) said it was illegal.

  • @vubeic Justb get smooth bent or mandrel if they can bend mandrel, piping. No crushed/crimpled bent. No you can not remove cats or a lesser amount, or none at all. Cut the rears out yourself and face possible fines at inspection time, or switch to hi-flow cats.

  • im new into muffler work, im looking into getting a 27" magnaflow because it fits easy into the same spot as the original, does the length make any difference in sound? is shorter louder on average?

  • @extreek yes, the longer, the quieter. I would strongly suggest you reconsider a smaller muffler. A huge muffler is pointless, if you want sound, you can't have a huge muffler. Look into the 11" or 14" body Magnaflows

  • Ok thanks also do u kno if it was the 11x4x9 muffler or a diff one because I know they have a few diff 11' mufflers

  • @canavan1m all 11" bodies are 11"x4"x9". Only difference is the 2.5", and 2.25" sizes, and inlet/outlet configurations.

  • how loud is the drone in the cab?

  • @canavan1m when I had this exhaust it wasn't bad at all, infact barely noticeable.

  • hey man, just wanted to say all of your videos sound awesome, im sure even better in person, and i bet those new bullets are LOUDD!! but how well do you think the scavenging will be on pretty much the same setup but with an H pipe?

  • @94landcruiser80 Thank you. It would be near the same, just more open since the X pipe combines the banks for a healthy low end. H pipe would perform a little better WOT, but barely.

  • For the people that dislike Magnaflow have never owned a vehicle with it on. All people know is Flowmaster. Cheap ass mufflers that wear out and sound like shit after 20k miles. Ignorant fucks. Nice truck, and exhaust dude!

  • @pinkfloydscorpio precisely! Thank you

  • 1:33 shows its not true duals dumbass

  • @leafsrule16 Thats where it is jointed together as an X pipe fuckhead. Look closely at 1:08..

  • @DarrenWS6 bad call .. sorry. i rock an x pipe on my car too..

  • best job ever

  • i hate magnaflow

  • haha thats not true duals buddayyy

  • @jarvyroth it is. It is dual exhausts, it must be X pipe combined since the exhaust banks are different lengths, and it must have cats. It is still fully dual.

  • He made his truck sound loud. Sounds like it's about to ruin. Hope it's ok and hope he does not miss the quiet he had before.

  • @stsostube Its not that loud, here it wasn't, it was ok in my book. Shortly after I removed the 2 rear converters, left the front ones that were O2 monitored, and two months ago I wanted more sound so I switched to Dynomax Bullet mufflers. Much better now. Just right.

  • Acually it's my dads coworker's old truck that gave it to me.lol. I already lifted it and got it put on 40. Sorry.

  • I would have done true duals

  • @xxbal1inxx it is true duals..

  • @DarrenWS6 doesnt it ahve a y pipe?

  • @xxbal1inxx Watch the first 2:00 of the video.. you can clearly see there is nopt a Y pipe. There are two pipes that are rubbed together, its a cheaply fabbed X pipe.

  • @DarrenWS6 ohh, it looked likea y pipe

  • very nice job

  • Yea ok mufflers make it sound like u just modded the stock exhaust and u spent half the 7 minute video under ur stupid ass truck it's not that cool I'm 16 and have the exact same truck but it's an 07 f150 lariat.

  • @99ford150v8 no mufflers sound like a trash redneck running through town who was too cheap to get a full exhaust made up. Not my taste. So discontinue your heckling of my video because I dont give a flying fuck. Good day.

  • @99ford150v8 Your right there......trucks sounds like shit dude!!! lol

  • @99ford150v8 you mean your dad has a 07 f150 lariat

  • This guy is retarded do u realize u don't have to have mufflers and it sounds way better and louder for half the price! That's what I did and I like how u show the undercarriage like 20 times like it's all gonna go away.

  • @99ford150v8 Straights sound like shit, and its to display the piping layout.

  • Sounds like every other fuckin truck wtf what a waste of money

  • @porschefreak707 Well let me first hand apologize for other people owning trucks and putting aftermarket exhaust systems in them.. so sorry.

  • @porschefreak707 I think you need to get your hearing checked. Not all trucks sound like that, and more power under the hood is always better.

  • that is EXACTLY how my 2000 4.6 is, 2.5 pipe, true dual magnaflows out the sides. sounds amazing

  • how much did all of this cost, im just wondering, because my truck is a 2006 ford F150, and its not that much different from this one at all, it has the 5.4 also

  • @mysticalfirelord all of this was $490. I have about 670 invested into it total, ive since swapped mufflers and modified cats, its much louder and better

  • @DarrenWS6 Thank you, and isnt funny how large the back mufflers are, haha, and what size pipe did you run back?

  • @mysticalfirelord about 2.5?

  • @mysticalfirelord lol yeah, muffler was massive. It is all 2.5" pipe.

  • @DarrenWS6

is the pipe stainless steel, or other metal?

  • @mysticalfirelord It is t-409 stainless steel. Its a natural finish that will not corrode off like standard aluminized.

  • @DarrenWS6 Thankyou for all of the help, once i get the money, i'm going to try and get the same setup if i can, but thanks again =D

  • Magnaflow definately has the best sound out there. I have the single inlet duel outlet side exit on my 06 FX4 and it is awesome. Not too loud to be annoying when hauling on long trips but definately loud enough to get attention. With that and a K&N filter im getting 1- 1.5 better mpg's too. lol

  • you should work for an exhaust company and do there demos..

  • I thinks its funny how oversized factory mufflers are.

  • @95ChevyTeeruk Part of being the best towing 1/2 ton is a quiet interior, that muffler sure was quiet lol.

  • the design on that x pipe was a byproduct of laziness and i doubt it functions as it should i would make them go back and do it right because it looks like trash that would have never left my shop like that

  • hey man that setup sounds incredible, but i have a question, were those magnaflows offset???

  • @13lilripsta13 yeah one end was offset other was centered.

  • Why did you want the f-150 instead of your silverado? I think the 2500's exhaust sounded better.

  • @95ChevyTeeruk I believe Ford makes a better overall truck. Better torque, more comfortable, better looking trim models. I dont choose trucks for the exhaust note lol. Personally I think my current setup with the Bullets sounds way better than the crapmaster on the 6.0L. Quite a bit louder and deeper, smoother tone. My 2500HD gave me a couple problem sand the F150 has only asked for ball jopints, a battery, and gasoline/oil changes. The looks of the HD's front end looked sick though

  • sounds like pussy

  • @Sledneck0013 it now has updated cat work and dynomax bullets, have a listen.

  • how much did that cost?

  • @2strokebeast479 $490 overall with the parts I provided, and install/fab labor.

  • Now time for a 12" lift with some 40's...

  • @Dieselboy350 hah right. Leveled with 33s does me well.

  • @DarrenWS6 I just did my truck the same way. Lifted 3" now just needs 33's.

  • @Dieselboy350 hell yeah

  • what type is magnaflow muffler did you put on? im not really familiar with magnaflow as i am with flowmaster but im loving the magnaflow deep sound. wayyy sick!!! do they put their mufflers in series like magnaflow?

  • @brayd4586 They are two 11" body ovals, part #11366. Magnaflow lists their mufflers ( and catbacks ) by part numbers, and the universal mufflers are identified the same way, and by body length. Magnaflows do sound really good. A good deep toned grunt.

  • @DarrenWS6 Hey, I have the EXACT same truck as you except mine is a supercrew. Just wondering what that clicking noise the engine makes as mine does the same thing.

  • @CanJ0n Its just the cam phasers. They're noisey in 04 - 06 models. No big deal.

  • nice truck and nice korn song to go with it!

  • sounds like the best $500 you ever spent

  • @TomTheTankEngine7 It was when I got the cats changed, thanks.

  • haha the flybys sound like my stock 5.7L chevy. Cant wait to hear magnaflows on mine.

  • How do you get the 2 mufflers? im gona buy the catback system and it only has one muffler with 2 pipe holes in it...? wtf?

  • Darren, How are U bud? do U have true duels ? meaning right bank and left, I know most fords have 2 cats, then they wye into a single system. The older ones have 4 cats how is your's hooked up man ? I just bought a Magnaflow for my 87 Regal with a Buick 350 in it; I'm going with a highflow cat also from MF and one in and 2 out muffler like the F body Camero, any nuggets U might have to offer on that ??

  • @soulfultenor Sounds like a plan. It'll sound good on the 350. '97 - '05 F150s have 4 cats, every truck built past Jan 2005+ has only two cats. In this vid my 04 has 4 stock cats and true duals. I since have cut the rear set of cats out for more sound.

  • @DarrenWS6 my dad has a 04 F-350 super duty with 33k miles on it. when he cold starts it sounds soo nice with the stock exhaust. i was reccomending him to put flowmaster 40 series or super 44';s

  • @st7ng Sweet, anything sounds better than stock.

  • @DarrenWS6 yeah most likely, but hes a real stick in the mud when it comes to modifying his trucks. he likes them as stock as possible. im trying to convince him but its whatever

  • Yes I only have one muffler. But it's a dual outlet, otherwise I would just buy another one.

  • @tylerrr37 If you dont live in an emissions area, try replacing all 4 stock cats with 2 magnaflow hi-flow cats.

  • Well I already have a magnaflow muffler on my 03 f150, but its not loud enough. I'd like to have my truck sound as badass as yours! hah

  • @tylerrr37 Well when you say muffler you mean just one right? If its not a dual outlet muffler, buy another and true dual it, and get hi-flow cats and it will sound great. '97 - '03 model cats cut back so much sound. I have all 4 cats in this video and it was still real quiet, but had some decent rumble. Check out my newest video which is a response to this video to hear how it sounds now.

  • Comment removed

  • Did you order the parts online and go to a shop to install it?

  • @tylerrr37 Yes. Mufflers and tips from Summit Racing's easy and helpful search feature.

  • nice. is it SS pipe? and are true duals bad for a truck and are they legal? ive seen your vid a while back and went into a local shop and asked them how much it would cost. they told me it wasnt really legal (didnt give an explanation why), thats its alot of trouble, and will cause problems later down the road (again, did not give explanation). also wondering if this is better than getting a SS kit from some company. seems like it might be cheaper that way. thanks

  • @kymudder08 yes, its t-409 grade stainless. Its 10 year warrantied and will only surface rust if anything, which it has at the welds and bottom side of the pipes. Not quite bad, if oversized yes, 2.5" is the max they should ever be, I lost minor low end torque qwith this setup but the high rpm gain is great. They are legal, this did not have anything to do with the cats. Any shop that tells you they are not legal are either too lazy to do the work, or wanting to save their skin due to emissions.

  • @DarrenWS6 there isnt any emissions testing in ky so i dont see why thatd be a problem for them. prolly just to lazy. lol. is the other vid (one with the kmc wheels) the same set up? it seems louder. idk about true duals for me. the exhausts shops around here a little high and that would prolly make it more. for just one muffler and duals with reg pipe was around 400. would you suggest to just get a bolt on kit and do it myself? i kinda like the mbrp. would it be just as good?

  • @kymudder08 Yes I have the same system, but I have deleted the rear converters. You could, but the MBRP kit has a 3.5" intermediate pipe which is too large, and the muffler is too large. It wont be as loud. Could go for a Magnaflow kit and put a smaller muffler in it.

  • Hey, great video! I really like how you put the truck through all those senearios, it gave me a great idea of the sound.

Just a random question, don't know if you would have the answer, but do you know how it would sound on a jeep 4 L?

  • @Nigel4400 Thanks. Well it surely wont sound like a V8, but I wouldn't true dual it. Running one muffler would be idea, but the Jeeps sound much better with a glasspack or some type of chambered muffler. My one friend used to have a 4L and had no cats and dual Dynomax Bullets, sounded pretty beastly for a 6 cyl.

  • how much in all did this cost?

  • @masterofthenight2 Check out the 'More Info' in description for specs. This all was $480.

  • How is the sound inside the truck? That set up sounds nice outside, not too over-bearing and really crisp! I wonder if it is as smooth inside...

  • @Riddle757 it was real quiet. I couldn't stand how it was so quiet lol, I like hearing a little rumble.

  • too quiet. cats gotta come out.

  • @bigorangetrucker they did.

  • bro u have h8ters....just ignore them...but da truck looks nd sounds awsome

  • @Daiidreamin lol theres usually a couple in ever video right, no matter what the video is lol. thanks

  • Those aint true duals hoss.. if you want true duals gota get em from the cats back
