You know what I think is funny? People who religiously believe the crap spew of new age nonsense because they lack the ability to use critical thinking and want to believe in fantasies. I'm not saying imagination isn't good. I'm saying that believing something is true without making any real observation of it actually being true or having any real reason for it to be true, is nonsense. We have to be critical unless we want to live in a shroud of delusion.
These trailers are awesome. I used to be enthralled by all this pseudo-scientific nonsense, but now it just annoys me that I'm being manipulated by cheap sentiment like a child. Hard facts are more amazng than goofy fantasy. Parody away - it's like a dose of Ipecac for the mind!

This movie is so far from actual physics that I can confidently say that you have never studied any physics at university and probably not even at high school.
Please, go find a physics major, any physics major, from a real university and have a discussion about quantum physics.
@RaymondCorrigan wow im so humbled to speak to such a genius. You should be in movies too because you did those units. HA HA HA HA HA have fun in ego trip denialville! get over it, you learned wrong, its not the end of the world. its worse if you keep on insisting your great for being educated because that keeps you right where you are, never advancing. Eisenstein saw the truth when he said “I know nothing”. Scientists have admitted that they are far from figuring out everything. You should too
Wait, you claim that you understand more than me, I point out that I`ve spent months studying this and ask you to do a few hours of physics study (outside of this movie) before assuming you understand more than me... But I have the ego problem?! : /
I`m not saying that physics came to me in a flash. I had to work hard and spend a lot of time studying, as you would have to... But I did that study, and you didn`t
I believe that is a Socrates quote. But Einstein would probably agree.
As the physicist Dara O`Briain said
"Well science knows it doesn`t know everything, otherwise it would stop... Just because science doesn`t know everything doesn`t mean you can fill in the gaps with whatever fairy tale most appeals to you."
The movie has the burden of proof, not me. They make many claims, but provide insufficient evidence. Even if we knew nothing that would still make them quacks... As I said.
Again, I can`t claim to know everything, but neither can you or the movie makers. Given the lack of evidence for, and abundance of evidence against the movie`s positions this makes the default position not believing. Anybody who claims this is a likely (or definite) reality is simply lying.
Why is it that supporters of this movie can`t do high school math yet can understand QM? High level math is a prerequisite for understanding QM Einstein, Feynman etc were all brilliant at it.
@RaymondCorrigan alright, calm down. Maybe Quantum Theory is not right about everything, but scientists even say its closer then other theories. It was not easy at all for me to understand QT. I did a lot of studying and even watched WTB several times before i could follow it for longer than a few seconds. when someone who has pre conceived ideas and don’t watch with an open mind they never understand.
I agree with QT. This movie isn`t showing QT. It is a cult that happens to say it`s beliefs are QT ( Ramtha's School of Enlightenment). Please find an actual physicist and ask them about QT.
QT is a mathematical theory of the inherent randomness of the universe at the atomic level. It has nothing to do with consciousness, OBEs or premonitions.
I watched the movie before I went to uni thinking that it was a film on QT and ready to learn. It`s nonsensical and it`s not QT.
@RaymondCorrigan I would be inspired so much by the revelations. I have had OBEs and have premonitions, Ive spent months in India in a monastery. Ive received knowledge through my meditations and its not drug induced. I have been shown first hand the nature of reality and I know that many people have not had these experiences so i don’t expect you to believe something without proof. I wouldn’t just believe either. Sorry for chewing you out
I happen to be an Asian language nerd so I`ve sent you a link to a page with some Hindi text.
I`ve taken into account that you`ve only been in India for a few months and aimed it around the difficultly someone would naturally pick up after that time.
While it obviously isn`t proof of the other stuff, you knowing Hindi shows that at least you`re not just lying. If you make up an excuse or ignore this I`ll obviously assume that you`re lying.
Just for anybody else reading, she can`t read Hindi but has shown me evidence that she`s been to the monastery. The rest is obviously subjective stuff.
Now, where were we.
Sorry, but QT as the well established science is just the numbers. The philosophy simply steals the name and people talking about the philosophy don`t understand the science.
Basically the whole problem comes from interpreting `observer` to mean `person/consciousness` when it just means `particle`.
Scientists saw that single particles exist in multiple places until they `bump into` another particle. They called this `the observer effect` and the other particle `the observer`. This is the science.
Some non-scientists started writing books and making movies but thought `observer` meant `consciousness`. Non-literal analogies like Schrodinger's cat added to the confusion. This is where the philosophy/religion came from, a mistake/deliberate misrepresentation of QT.
You can call the philosophy QT as well if you like. But it is not the same as the science and is going against the evidence. So QT philosophers can`t use the credibility of the science or the scientists to backup their claims.
"I promise you. im no collage grad but that's only a peace of paper it doesn't prove a prisons ability to rationalize, or their IQ."
It does to a... degree (my ability to make puns!).
I also happen to be in Mensa. Does an IQ test prove a person`s IQ?
Open/closed mindedness is, ironically, a closed minded concept.
Evidence
I accept parts of QT, the parts supported by evidence. I don`t accept philosophy going directly against the evidence but would change my mind if the evidence did. If something has neither reasonable evidence for or against it I say `I don`t know`.
Personal Experience:
I feel that my lucid dreams are special. But I admit there are more likely explanations.
@RaymondCorrigan explain about the double slit experiment, how is someone not going to see implications in that? These guys aren’t idiots, it would be tragic not to. if something can change your life giving you a new perspective that we can do something about our negative thoughts, not letting the situation control you but creating your reality.so many miracles happened to be and i know its because of this amazing proof.I manifested great things, i couldn’t imagine still being that person before
Sure, referencing `The Feynman Lectures on Physics.`
You shoot a photon at a surface through two slits so that it has a chance of going through each one. If the photon is left to itself it will create an interference on the surface, that is to say it will go through both slits at once. If however the particle is `observed`, for example by a laser detector in one of the slits, you will not get the interference pattern, the photon randomly goes through only one of the slits.
Now as I said before, the word `observed` is the source of confusion. An observation simply means a photon `bumping into` another particle. So if you put a laser detector in one slit, the laser`s photons will bump into the photon and cause it to exist in one place. Thoughts have nothing to do with it, nobody has to check the laser detector.
Please explain to me why you think this experiment has something to do with thoughts.
The implications are huge, but have nothing to do with consciousness. The universe literally exists in multiple places until it `observes` itself. Matter is much, much stranger than we ever imagined.
Perhaps information is the crucial factor. Or as many physicists have theorized perhaps we are observing particles from different universes interacting with each other. That`s truly open minded.
Isn`t this universe strange and wonderful enough as it is without adding superpowers?
@RaymondCorrigan ill make sure the spell check is on from now on, thanks
as far as teaching goes, I taught poor villagers as volunteer work. What makes a good teacher is the ability to hold someone’s interest and teach with good expression, giving great examples and being entertaining at the same time. I would usually wing it and found that I was better that way rather that sticking to the lesson plan. They said they learned more from me than their English teachers in school.
@RaymondCorrigan Buddha said the world was empty, an illusion. Now science is saying the same thing that matter is empty space.the Buddha knew this from attaining enlightenment. the whole world made sense to him.Through changing his perception and creating his reality he became enlightened. I know as i say this right now you will not see my point of view because everything is interpreted differently by you and you simply dont see what im talking about.you have created that reality for your self.
@RaymondCorrigan how do you do an experiment without the observer? Its not possible. the fact that someone observed it happening made the particle act like a solid rather than a wave. What your saying is that QT only has to do with particles and not consciousness. everything is made from particles. EVEN US, so how should we not apply it on a bigger scale? its trying to explain our universe and your not applying it to the big picture.
Yes, both experiments had a person watching them. The one where the particle doesn`t define it`s position and the one where it does. They observed both experiments but the observer made no difference. The only thing that made a difference was putting the laser in one of the slits, nobody checked whether the laser interacted, but if it was there the particle defined its position.
What you need as evidence is the particle being undefined unless somebody checks the laser detector.
Yes, our consciousness is also made of particles. And the particles of our brain interact with other particles exactly the same as the particles of anything. Therefore consciousness has no special quantum effect.
"how should we not apply it on a bigger scale?"
If you mean a literally bigger scale (e.g. Schrödinger's cat) then the answer is simple. The cat`s particles are interacting with each other (and the quantum trigger), giving the cat a defined state.
In summary, if consciousness caused quantum events, it would not apply to "even us" but "just us".
Please consider the following, if you lived in 2 universes, one where particles acted as observers and one where consciousness acted as one, how would you tell the difference between the two in this experiment.
Australian aboriginal dreamtime stories can be retroactively fitted to match the big bang. It`s not surprising that some of Buddha`s figurative speech seems prophetic.
I`m closed minded because I make a conclusion after showing my reasoning?
YOU: "how do you do an experiment without the observer? Its not possible. the fact that someone observed it happening made the particle act like a solid rather than a wave."
I pointed out that both wave and solid particle results had conscious observers. Therefore the consciousness made no difference. Did I say something wrong? Did you not agree with this very simple logic?

dont discount that which is over your head. just because you dont understand the mechanics of quantum physics its realtionship to our "reality", doesnt mean you need to make a numerous series of videos with the same theme over, and over, and over again, pointing out these scientists' akwardness? is that the best you can do to disprove this? pretty sad if you ask me. do some fucking research on the subject, come up with a real counter-argument, and then post something worth our time. thanks
I seriously think we should boycott the 'what the bleep do we know' original film because of that damn spooky fat women that looks like she had bad plastic surgery. Her facial expressions have crawled through time and space and have imbedded their creepiness into my dentrites in the seventh dimension of me being disturbed. if good thoughts keep youth and beauty then why the hell is that women so damn creepy.she is like looking at an ugly spider, you can't get the spider feeling out of your skin
you know, as funny as this stuff is I honestly have read stuff like this. Papers titled such as "Flat World" come from weirdos babbling on like this. It then ends up being funded and something gets invented, but yeah... this is too funny! This is like the bloopers of a Nova show! lol
Oh, I even consider myself a weirdo. For pete's sake, I read books that are based on theories that start out like this video for fun. I personally find "Flat World" a very intriguing subject because it's an example how we ourselves wouldn't be able to see a 7th or 12th dimension being. In 8th grade I was reading Michio Kaku's Hyperspace book.
You know what I think is funny? People who religiously believe the crap spew of new age nonsense because they lack the ability to use critical thinking and want to believe in fantasies. OK, if you`re dyslexic your spelling doesn`t stop you from being smart. My dyslexic friend can wipe the floor with me in chess.
Anyway, I feel like this whole conversation is getting petty and bitter on both sides and neither of us really wants that. : )
I would really appreciate if you could tell me what you think the double slit experiment shows about consciousness and why.

@RaymondCorrigan I feel petty for trying to prove myself,I wouldn’t seek validation if I did not want for everyone open up there mind enough to give WTB a chance to make sense.I feel that many peopl will become inspired by this enough to really make a difference in the world.this is what the ancient schools where trying to teach, this is what Buddha KNEW and many profits who were misinterpreted. There is a big part that your missing.something that is so profound. the holy grail, the greatest gift

I could be wrong. But the time to adopt your position is when the evidence for it is greater than the evidence for my position, not a second before.

dont discount that which is over your head. just because you dont understand the mechanics of quantum physics its realtionship to our "reality", doesnt mean you need to make a numerous series of videos with the same theme over, and over, and over again, pointing out these scientists' akwardness? is that the best you can do to disprove this? pretty sad if you ask me. do some fucking research on the subject, come up with a real counter-argument, and then post something worth our time. thanks

#4 is the funniest video in this set. This video is second. The others of kind of funny, but nothing to write home about.

I love the music effect, how it grows louder and softer. The music itself is great too.

you know, as funny as this stuff is I honestly have read stuff like this. Papers titled such as "Flat World" come from weirdos babbling on like this. It then ends up being funded and something gets invented, but yeah... this is too funny! This is like the bloopers of a Nova show! lol
joebrueske 4 years ago
Wierdos babbling about this? dont be so closed minded my man
adamberk07 3 years ago
Oh, I even consider myself a weirdo. For pete's sake, I read books that are based on theories that start out like this video for fun. I personally find "Flat World" a very intriguing subject because it's an example how we ourselves wouldn't be able to see a 7th or 12th dimension being. In 8th grade I was reading Michio Kaku's Hyperspace book.
