these are such awesome videos and to think as much as he has taught us about God is only a fraction of what there is to know about Him. I wonder how many golfballs it would take to match the ratio of us to Him. wow!
Five reasons why there is no god; A) Total absence from the natural world. No sign of a god, before, during or after, natural disastres B) The absolute absence of favoritism towards believers. Even churches need lightning-rods to protect them from god. C) The absence of any reaction, when crimes are committed in his name. C) The suffering of the innocent. D) The fact that human birth is beset with more problems than any animal. Why, if we are the masterpiece of his creation ?
i dont understand how any of these videos proves that there is a god .. the are stating scientific facts that are rather amazing .. but how doest hat mean there is a god?

Don't be upset about unbelievers comments, think about why they found this video. What would be the reason for someone who doesn't believe in something to do a search about a video on GOD? Not for the argument...... its deeper than that and they don't even know it. Keep searching my brothers and sisters, seek ye!
@desertcrash I saw this on the suggestions when I was watching a scientific video and wondered ''why the hell is this here?'' and decided to watch some of it. Highly amusing I must say.
Cause if he were to belief in right or wrong, to him there would be a god, cause he is then believing in something. Wether he believes in human law or his own law. It is a god.
Lets say there is no god, first would be to say there is no right or wrong. Therefore i can do whatever I want, but when I do something I believe I exist. therefore I do. This evidence s/he is searching for is himself/herself. The question I ask, how do you distinguish between blue and yellow?
My comment to Farvision, would be that his own logic is destructive. Atheism, in its own sence is a position that there no gods. It is not the belief there is no god(s), otherwise then there would be a god(s) to not belief in. The reason I say its destructive, is in that he believes he is his own god. A person who truthly takes the position that there is no god. Find himself at an impass, he can do whatever s/he wants. There is no laws to which he needs abid by, human law is of no consequence.
The first thing to understand, to be true scientist is that "We has humans do not know much". Which comes to defining line in religion versus science debate. As a person that come to love the Principal of sufficient reason, this in my opinion counters the idea of both Chaos theory (ex: weather changes, butterfly effect) and natural selection. To but it bluntly we don't know the reason. As for a God, the randomness we experience could be the answer to that reason.
Follow the blackest part of your soul. The dark messiah is who we search for. Cold rays of moonlight describing his rank. Satan's blood, it infects your soul. Satan's blood, it is dark as coal. Covered with blood of faith and dead prayers. We walk deeper into demon's territory. Holiness destroyed as the gates torn free. He is the master of dark arts. Hypnotic eyes to break your mind. Mystic circle will close this oath. Burn the light as a symbol to fight. Satan and I are as one.
It was the tree of the "Knowledge" of good, and evil that man fell. They thought they knew more then God like you do farvision because God said they would surly die if they ate the fruit, but they could not take his word for it, they were deceived because they didn't understand God like you don't understand God. so you allow the Devil to think for you. The devil questioned God, we don't even use 100% of our brains like angels do, so what makes you think your smarter than him to say God is wrong.
Why argue to prove that your opinion is the right one? Faith in the Creator/Savior is a gift. So if you believe, humbly thank God for His mercy. If you don't, humbly ask Him if you could possibly be wrong. Condescension on either side is pointless and totally inflammatory!
It takes WAY more faith to believe in the false religion of evolution than it does in the infallible, inerrant, all-powerful word of the Living God. The bottom line is this, people have to BELIEVE in something, even atheist's BELIEVE that there is no God. That's called a choice. If a person believes in the false religion of evolution, which has been proven wrong over and over again, that is simply a choice that they make.
i think it would take more faith to believe in an all powerful god that youve never seen before than to believe what is tangable and what you can touch and feel. plus the cost of following god on earth is far more greater then doing what the world says, but i think that all the suffering and torturing the chruch will go through is worth it because our God is... i cant describe him hes eternally faithful, always good, hes holy, hes worthy.
Thank you for the comment, let me clarify what I mean in terms of faith. Understand that evolution teaches that we all started as a rock, and over millions of years, we've transformed into every living, breathing thing on earth !! Yah, I know pretty crazy huh? However, creation teaches in Genesis 1:1 that God created the heavens and earth, and ultimately all living, breathing things, so it would take more faith to believe in evolution, than creation, simply based on how we came to be, cool =)
i actually think you should shut down the comments on these videos. they are amazing the way they are. they don't need petty arguments about wether there is a God or not. if you can watch this and believe it's all an accident... idk. i don't want to be disrespectful.. i just think these comments shouldn't be on here..
I guess he kind of forgot about the "miracle" of genetic diseases that cause incredible suffering in children or often even lead to death. Besides, if pregnancy is a "miracle", then me eating a pizza and it coming out as doo-doo on the other end is also a miracle. In the sense this guy is talking, everything would be a miracle, making the word meaningless. If his god creates everything, he also creates the bad, including genetic diseases. Please grow up and shed these childish ideas.
I'm a scientist. This is not enlightening. It's watching a primitive dance around a stage pretending to understand the universe when he doesn't. You might note that I've already tortured myself with this garbage previously. (I almost never comment on a video unless I have seen or intend to see the entire thing.) This guy is using hard won science to do pseudo scientific junk. Learn the real science.
Of course we understand a lot about the universe. Apparently you don't know basic science, aside from not having a good handle on the English language. The earth came to be by natural processes. There are some great videos on geology on youtube. Watch them.
You can use google to answer your questions. Learn to do research using the internet. At the moment you are allowing our slave master to control your mind.
adangelica, the way murders are solved is by looking at evidence and thinking. One need not see the murder to know who is guilty. Your questions are biased - you assume an answer. But modern science (which you seem to be totally ignorant of) gives clear answers that do not point to any beings.
Well farvision, do whatever you want, say whatever you want, but you Know, oh yes, I know you know that you will neve ever crush the truth, never with your scientist mind goes to repress and hinder the truth and make it inoperative... ... ... How Great is OUR God AND He loves you sooo much! Take care!
adangelica, you managed not to understand that? How do the police solve crimes in Venezuela? Do they pray to God? No, they gather DNA evidence. Do they bow to Baal? No, they photograph footprints. Have they seen the crime? No. Do they catch the criminal anyway? If you depend on god or santa claus to get things done, you will fail in comparison to using hard evidence. The truth is that there is no evidence for your god, you are fooling yourself. Wake up.
There's a lot of evidence of God, but you don't want to see, you're blind in your mind, your heart is in a deep darkness. U need some help! You wake up, climb out of your coffin and let God shine on you!
adangelica, I've seen many claims that there is evidence for a god, but I have examined them and found them all to fail. I examine the evidence as a scientist (which I am). It would be an incredible discovery to show that there is a god, so I wouldn't mind that - but no claims have met the rigorous demands needed for publication in a scientific journal. However, if you have some special publishable evidence, I would listen.
Just as you do not know the path of the wind and you'll never understand the mystery of life forming in a pregnant woman, so you'll never understand the mystery at work in all that God does; you do not know the activity of God who makes all things... Thereis a God, The One and Only God!!
Ahh, but we do know the path of the wind, we see it on the weather channel all the time. The predictions of where the wind will blow are quite good these days as I am sure you are aware. We understand a lot about developmental biology. Read this book: Your Inner Fish by Neil Shubin. Claiming that Superman (or whatever it is you think) exists does not make it exist, sorry. Stop fooling yourself. Please use the internet to educate yourself.
Believe in God makes me an ignorant!... good for me!! I'm ignorant then...
There is a God, and someday YOU (with all your perfect science) will bow down before Him and call out in praise that He is God, the only One, the Creator of everything!!
adangelica, no. Believing in god gives you an excuse to remain ignorant. We are all ignorant at different levels, myself included. But the more people are educated about the universe the more they see that gods are all fictional characters - every one to the thousands that have been invented. I'm just inviting you to learn more. Science is not perfect, by far, but it is self correcting. Religions resist correction and so generally get things wrong.
Farvision, nooo. Believing in God gives me everything! 'cause no matter what we say, what we think, what we do and what we know, we're in nothing without God! God is real, God IS.
Even if I have all powers in earth, revealing all mysteries and making everything plain as day, without God that makes no sense! God IS! There is a God!
adangelica asserting that there is a god has never actually made the gods exist. However, without a god things make lots of sense. We know how we got here and we can chose what to do. It's a matter of relaxing and accepting the universe as it is, not what we would like it to be.
We made decissions! We choose what to do, where to go... But we must to know this and have it very clear: God is God, the Only One! He made us, he brought us here... You're right when you say that we can chose, that's our liberty: we can chose! Before us is set the life and death, blessing and curse, everything is set before us and we have the power, the liberty to choose.
Well, you are right, it isn't funny. I found it humorous when I first learned about it, but now I find it sad to see peoples suppressed by their misunderstanding of the universe and their resistance to learning. So I'm also saddened by your apparent beliefs which restrict you and hold you as a mental slave. (The endorphin rush can be obtained by other means that do not trap you.)
I don't need any "endorphin rush", i don't need to feel that I am super-powerful or feel that I'm over everything. I know who I am, I know where I'm going.
It's sad to see people suppressed by their misunderstanding of God and the resistance to believe; it's sad to see how they trivialized themselves into silliness and confusion so that there was neither sense nor direction left in their lives...
adangelica why is it you can't understand the viewpoint of someone who thinks that your god does not exist? Is it so hard to see that? The analogy with cargo cults is to get you to see your own religion from a different perspective. Knowledge turns out to correlate with less belief in gods because people see the universe can be perfectly well understood without them. More education means less belief. It's not scary, it's a great relief to people who learned enough that there is no god.
Here I go! It was very interesting "surfing" in the web reading about it, especially reading about "cargo cult programming" 'cause I think that ppl who follow this type of religious practice are doing the same that the newbie computer programmer does --> They just take a part of "the original" and then applies into something new even when they don't understand what are they doing.
Ppl who has this practice are following the apparent and not the true... Although they knew God, THE TRUE GOD...
Yes, that's an interesting analogy. One takes a chunk of computer code without fully understanding every part of it and modifies it for a different use. So we can see how religions start and are propagated. But people never quite get around to checking how the 'code' works and, worse, ignore the inconsistencies. Indeed, the religious code has routines in it to prevent you from questioning it.
Now take that perspective and look at your own religion.
I don't know that there is no god. I also don't know that the classical teapot is not orbiting mars, that there is no invisible pink unicorn in my kitchen yowling silently for food, that there is no invisible green cat flying around your head and so on ad infinitum. There are lots of things made up that I don't really know don't exist. Check out this video:
Re: PROOF GOD DOESN'T EXIST! by RabidApe
watch?v=Ojv7K3daqyE which gives a really clear exposition on this topic.
Glad to make you laugh! I'm not sure, but maybe the green cat is really purple. All I'm saying is that there is a lot out there to learn about the world. I and many others get our assurance from ourselves and other people, not from a green and (?) purple cat that we can't see. i invite you to examine what your believe and I assure you that without belief in god is freeing and empowering. Check out the new youtube channel: homeproject
homeproject is about the real world, maybe we can save it if we keep in mind what is real and what is not. I know ou still believe in Santa ... er... God but the question is why? You hold onto it like a child holds a soft blanket (that isn't there).
Yes, quite beautiful ... keep watching. The only thing that will save us is our knowledge, not a god. As for why not believe in a god? We have better explanations for the harmony - it's evolved. Non balanced systems get eliminated automatically. The current explanations leave no room for a maker. Mutations are proven to be random and selection occurs by the environment on organisms. Surely you know this basic biology?
incredible916, I'd be happy to leave you to stew in your confusions except that would not be ethical. But more to the point, I really resent you guys flying airplanes into buildings and the other horrible acts theists are responsible for - people dying over a cartoon! Torture for centuries! Pushing IDiotic non-science into classrooms! You keep out of other peoples business and we will leave you alone. Until then, I will be a militant antitheist.
farvision, you're doing a good job of keeping out of other people's business by bashing Christianity, and every other religion for that matter, in your comment on a CHRISTIAN video. By the way, your "science" wasn't there at the formation of the American education system. So, in essence, the people who removed creation science from classrooms were meddling in other peoples' business. I will always and forever fight for the cause of Christ.
i never said God was a person, God is beyond you and I. I can't describe it to you, because you refuse to believe it. Sure, you can say the same about humanism, but I've studied everything, and I have made up my mind.
A 'person' is a being with awareness. Just because the awareness is putatively more than ours doesn't make your mythological being not a person in my definition. You can describe it, you refuse to. I would 'believe' if you gave some evidence. Humanism is not about beings other than humans who we know exist! You are close minded now by having made up your mind? Do you know about tiktaalik and ring species?
I can't give you evidence because if I gave you all the evidence i know, you would give worldly claims as to why that evidence couldn't possibly coincide with what "science" has told you. Anyway, on to the next thing. If a person is a being with awareness, then does that mean dogs are people, because I've seen dogs that are very smart, smarter than some humans. On the other hand, a human with a severe mental disability can't fit the description of a person
JAREDKIRCH you can't give me evidence because it wouldn't be actual evidence! That's the only reason I can see for you not giving any evidence. You might consider that both the dog and the mentally disabled could be considered persons. Religions tend to make people have really big egos.
i never claimed to be in a religion. Religions cause wars, make people believe lies, and yes, even create egotistical people. What i have is a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, who was a real person, who conquered death and who is God. If you call me egotistical, you haven't seen anything. People like Joel Osteen and Joyce Meyer, the ones who say you can have all the money you want if you have enough faith and enough money to send them, those are the ones who give God a bad name.
You believe in a god (JC) that has supernatural powers. That's a religion whether you want to accept that definition or not. Anyway, you believe in imaginary beings for which there is not a shred of evidence in the observable world. By big ego I just mean that religious people tend to think that they have the Truth, while in the meantime ignoring actual facts about the actual universe. Their ego is so big that they can't accept being 100% wrong about things.
Are you saying Jesus Christ didn't exist? When I went to Rome last February, I got to see the actual census that Caesar Augustus decreed, and I saw the birth record of Jesus himself. As you've said, hard evidence doesn't lie. I'm not religious. religious people go to church every sunday and make sure everyone sees the good works they do, so everyone sees how "righteous" they are. Those people are the ones you're talking about. You don't realize the difference between Religion and Jesus Christ.
Jesus Christ is a god (or son of one or whatever). People who believe in gods have a religion, though it seems to be a modern thing to deny having a religion (because it's not a reasonable thing to do?) while simultaneously ascribing to supernatural things, which is part of the usual definition of a religion. I don't see why you try to hide your belief in something that doesn't exist by using the smoke screen of calling it not a religion.
It's funny, you keep referring to Jesus Christ as "a god" he IS God! Go look up the Webster's definition of religion, and see how God is phrased. Also, look at the fourth definition of it. It reminds me of you ;)
@farvision If one cannot prove that something is, then he may attempt to prove that it is not. And if he can do neither, which often occurs, then he must ask himself whether it would hypothetically be in his best interest to accept one alternative or the other."- Immanuel Kant"
As for a birth record of Jesus - that's a pretty amazing thing I had not heard about. Where was it, what was it written on, what was the date? Do you have photographs? I could not find anything about such an important document on the web! The fourth google hit for 'birth record of Jesus' (without quotes) was amusing ...
Yes, I think it likely that there was no Jesus Christ. See the movie 'The God Who Wasn't There'. Setting aside your claim for a record of a birth, the exact date is disputed and probably not Dec 25. Further and really damning is the resemblance of the Jesus story to pagan god stories from earlier times.
I was told by the Cardinali not to give great detail of what i saw. Believe it, or not. I can tell you it was behind bulletproof glass guarded by seven members of the Vatican police. I paid a lot of money for it.
Well Dr. farvision, I'm sorry I can't convince you of the stuff I saw. Tell me this, If you stumbled upon the cure for cancer, and your boss told you not to tell ANYONE of what you found. What would you feel? How would you react if you knew the cure for a major disease was in your hands and you could do nothing with it??
@farvision you are correct in that the date of Christmas is when people use to celebrate a pagan god. Thats why we celebrate Christ birth to say that he is more powerful and is more substantial then the gods of the Pagans. Just like there are days that are not the exact day of an event that happened but is remembered on a different date. so that doesn't negate the reality of Jesus Christ life death and resurrection.
I'm not in any trap. I've been set free. I looked at two options concerning death. The first, streets of gold, mansions, and eternal happiness. The second, death. Burial. The End.
The guy in that video was too fascinated with Atheism to focus on his relationship with God.
I disagree. You believe that there is life after death because that feels good, despite the various evidence against such a thing. The problem with 'focusing on god' is that it ignores the actual world! It literally makes people delusional (belief in something that doesn't exist).
No, I believe in life after death because it's better than death. Give me the evidence against life after death. Please. When I focus on God, I see the world through a new pair of eyes. I don't care about what people say, but what God says, and yes, he does exist.
In other words, JAREDKIRCH, you believe in something because that's emotionally satisfying. If you cut your finger, believing that it's not bleeding all over the floor would feel good, but it just isn't true. Objectively we see the decay of the body. We know that the brain depends on the body and many experiments have shown. See the story of Phineas Gage!! Read Phantoms in the Brain by Ramachandran and Blakeslee!
It seems to me you outrightly reject the metaphysical! You think inside the box known as the physical realm of existence. It seems to me that you have accepted the idea that nothing exists outside of what we have explored. You believe there is no God, and probably would shout it at the top of your lungs(Webster's religion no. 4). Haha, praise God! What a revelation! the very thing you are trying to disgrace is in essence the same thing you partake in!
No, I don't reject abstract thought. I certainly don't think that what we know is all there is, I'm a scientist! If there was nothing more to discover, I'd be out of a job! I don't believe there are no gods, I just don't see any evidence for them. We can explain the observable universe well without using gods as an explanation. Adding gods makes things much worse (where did they come from). Show evidence. I don't think you can and your story about JC's birth certificate is unsubstantiated
You're funny! I'm beginning to warm up to you! And here I thought you were just another scientist, hiding behind a title and years of force-fed information, and that started to seem like a description of you! Did I read somewhere that you were a molecular biologist, or is that false? Don't think a degree can help you in anything but a job.
plocusman, that's a ridiculous assertion. I'm a scientist and it is very clear that there is NO evidence for any gods. The fact that theists have been beating on this for thousands of years and haven't gotten even a shred of a clue says that there is almost certainly no god. As for living a good life - sure I could have had slaves, and would happily have stoned you to death. But as a humanist I can see that is not moral, which you certainly can't do based on your religion!
plocusman, you are a tape recorder, spewing back old arguments long eliminated from the discussion. You are rather new to this debate, aren't you? You are pretty lost my friend, how do you prove there is no flying spaghetti monster? Your argument fails - all imaginary beings cannot be disproven. Prove that Santa Claus does not exist. It is not faith, it is lack of evidence. Learn some basic science before you walk around in your underpants in public.
go to pubmedcentral and put in the number 16569567
to get the STEP study. Basicall prayer doesn't work. So thanks for doing that for me but you are wasting your time. (Actually, I'd rather you not pray for me since they found a slight effect that praying hurts people prayed for!)
plocusman, do you believe that Apollo the sun god drags the sun across the sky every day? No? My you are stubborn. Why are you stubborn? Because we know better. So ... neither of us is stubborn, you just haven't done anything but assert that there has to be a creator, but you haven't learned enough thermodynamics, physics, chemistry, genetics and molecular biology to see how the complexity arises from simpler things. Check out the Mandelbrot set!
@plocusman i agree with him. think of it this way....i live by god and i die and there is no god....so what i lived a life that was for good and no bad in it. if i dont believe and i ignore it.....i go to hell??? doesnt seem like a risk i really want to take lol good luck with that one
they trivialized themselves into silliness and confusion so that there was neither sense nor direction left in their lives. The most of then pretended to know it all, professing to be so smart, they made simpletons of themselves and by them the true God was exchanged for and represented by images, resembling mortal man and birds and beasts and reptiles and who knows whatelse...
This is the most awesome Video I have ever seen....So True...A Child Of GOD...Yes I am...Thank you Father

OrangeFate 2 years ago
My comment to Farvision, would be that his own logic is destructive. Atheism, in its own sence is a position that there no gods. It is not the belief there is no god(s), otherwise then there would be a god(s) to not belief in. The reason I say its destructive, is in that he believes he is his own god. A person who truthly takes the position that there is no god. Find himself at an impass, he can do whatever s/he wants. There is no laws to which he needs abid by, human law is of no consequence.
OrangeFate 2 years ago
The first thing to understand, to be true scientist is that "We has humans do not know much". Which comes to defining line in religion versus science debate. As a person that come to love the Principal of sufficient reason, this in my opinion counters the idea of both Chaos theory (ex: weather changes, butterfly effect) and natural selection. To but it bluntly we don't know the reason. As for a God, the randomness we experience could be the answer to that reason.

If a person believes in the false religion of evolution, which has been proven wrong over and over again, that is simply a choice that they make.
fireguysc1 2 years ago 2
i think it would take more faith to believe in an all powerful god that youve never seen before than to believe what is tangable and what you can touch and feel. plus the cost of following god on earth is far more greater then doing what the world says, but i think that all the suffering and torturing the chruch will go through is worth it because our God is... i cant describe him hes eternally faithful, always good, hes holy, hes worthy.

Thank you for the comment, let me clarify what I mean in terms of faith. Understand that evolution teaches that we all started as a rock, and over millions of years, we've transformed into every living, breathing thing on earth !! Yah, I know pretty crazy huh? However, creation teaches in Genesis 1:1 that God created the heavens and earth, and ultimately all living, breathing things, so it would take more faith to believe in evolution, than creation, simply based on how we came to be, cool =)

but thank you for the videos.

Learn the real science.

he is not pretending to understand the universe

cheezycheezpuff 2 years ago
Of course we understand a lot about the universe. Apparently you don't know basic science, aside from not having a good handle on the English language. The earth came to be by natural processes. There are some great videos on geology on youtube. Watch them.

Were you there when (was) made the world? If you know so much, tell me about it.
Who decided how large it would be? Who stretched the measuring line over it? Do you know all the answers?

What holds up the pillars that support the earth? Who laid the cornerstone of the world?
Who closed the gates to hold back the sea when it burst from the womb of the earth?
have you ever in all your life commanded a day to dawn?
Have you been to the springs in the depths of the sea? Have you walked on the floor of the ocean?
Has anyone ever shown you the gates that guard the dark world of the dead?
adangelica 2 years ago
Have you any idea how big the world is? Answer this if you know.
Do you know where the light comes from or what the source of darkness is?
Can you show them how far to go, or send them back again?
I am sure you can, because you're so "scientist" and were there when the world was made!
adangelica 2 years ago
You can use google to answer your questions. Learn to do research using the internet. At the moment you are allowing our slave master to control your mind.
And, yes, I am a scientist.
farvision 2 years ago
adangelica, the way murders are solved is by looking at evidence and thinking. One need not see the murder to know who is guilty. Your questions are biased - you assume an answer. But modern science (which you seem to be totally ignorant of) gives clear answers that do not point to any beings.
farvision 2 years ago
Well farvision, do whatever you want, say whatever you want, but you Know, oh yes, I know you know that you will neve ever crush the truth, never with your scientist mind goes to repress and hinder the truth and make it inoperative... ... ... How Great is OUR God AND He loves you sooo much! Take care!
adangelica 2 years ago
adangelica, you managed not to understand that? How do the police solve crimes in Venezuela? Do they pray to God? No, they gather DNA evidence. Do they bow to Baal? No, they photograph footprints. Have they seen the crime? No. Do they catch the criminal anyway? If you depend on god or santa claus to get things done, you will fail in comparison to using hard evidence. The truth is that there is no evidence for your god, you are fooling yourself. Wake up.
farvision 2 years ago
There's a lot of evidence of God, but you don't want to see, you're blind in your mind, your heart is in a deep darkness. U need some help! You wake up, climb out of your coffin and let God shine on you!
adangelica 2 years ago
adangelica, I've seen many claims that there is evidence for a god, but I have examined them and found them all to fail.

Thereis a God, The One and Only God!!
adangelica 2 years ago
Ahh, but we do know the path of the wind, we see it on the weather channel all the time. The predictions of where the wind will blow are quite good these days as I am sure you are aware. We understand a lot about developmental biology. Read this book: Your Inner Fish by Neil Shubin. Claiming that Superman (or whatever it is you think) exists does not make it exist, sorry. Stop fooling yourself. Please use the internet to educate yourself.
Currently you are very ignorant of basic science.
farvision 2 years ago
Believe in God makes me an ignorant!... good for me!! I'm ignorant then...
There is a God, and someday YOU (with all your perfect science) will bow down before Him and call out in praise that He is God, the only One, the Creator of everything!!
adangelica 2 years ago
adangelica, no. Religions resist correction and so generally get things wrong.
farvision 2 years ago
Farvision, nooo. Believing in God gives me everything! 'cause no matter what we say, what we think, what we do and what we know, we're in nothing without God! God is real, God IS.
Even if I have all powers in earth, revealing all mysteries and making everything plain as day, without God that makes no sense! God IS! There is a God!
adangelica 2 years ago
adangelica asserting that there is a god has never actually made the gods exist. However, without a god things make lots of sense. We know how we got here and we can chose what to do. It's a matter of relaxing and accepting the universe as it is, not what we would like it to be.
farvision 2 years ago
"Relaxing...accepting...chose what to do"->Good!
We made decissions! We choose what to do, where to go... But we must to know this and have it very clear: God is God, the Only One! He made us, he brought us here... You're right when you say that we can chose, that's our liberty: we can chose! Before us is set the life and death, blessing and curse, everything is set before us and we have the power, the liberty to choose.

adangelica 2 years ago
Well, you are right, it isn't funny. I found it humorous when I first learned about it, but now I find it sad to see peoples suppressed by their misunderstanding of the universe and their resistance to learning. So I'm also saddened by your apparent beliefs which restrict you and hold you as a mental slave. (The endorphin rush can be obtained by other means that do not trap you.)
farvision 2 years ago
I don't need any "endorphin rush", i don't need to feel that I am super-powerful or feel that I'm over everything. I know who I am, I know where I'm going.
It's sad to see people suppressed by their misunderstanding of God and the resistance to believe; it's sad to see how they trivialized themselves into silliness and confusion so that there was neither sense nor direction left in their lives...
Knowledge is not an excuse to deny God!
adangelica 2 years ago
adangelica why is it you can't understand the viewpoint of someone who thinks that your god does not exist? Is it so hard to see that? The analogy with cargo cults is to get you to see your own religion from a different perspective. Knowledge turns out to correlate with less belief in gods because people see the universe can be perfectly well understood without them. More education means less belief. It's not scary, it's a great relief to people who learned enough that there is no god.
farvision 2 years ago
Hey! I understand your "viewpoint", I said that you are free to choose...

Why do you think this happened?
farvision 2 years ago
I let you know what I think about it later, I'm a lil bit busy :)
adangelica 2 years ago
Although they knew God, THE TRUE GOD...
adangelica 2 years ago
Yes, that's an interesting analogy. One takes a chunk of computer code without fully understanding every part of it and modifies it for a different use. So we can see how religions start and are propagated. But people never quite get around to checking how the 'code' works and, worse, ignore the inconsistencies. Indeed, the religious code has routines in it to prevent you from questioning it.
Now take that perspective and look at your own religion.
farvision 2 years ago
Farvision I'm not following any religion. I just believe in God, I know there is a God, a great God, the only one!
adangelica 2 years ago
adangelica, ok, how do you know that there is a god, let along great and only?

How do you know that there is NO God?
adangelica 2 years ago
I don't know that there is no god. I also don't know that the classical teapot is not orbiting mars, that there is no invisible pink unicorn in my kitchen yowling silently for food, that there is no invisible green cat flying around your head and so on ad infinitum. There are lots of things made up that I don't really know don't exist. Check out this video:
Re: PROOF GOD DOESN'T EXIST! by RabidApe
watch?v=Ojv7K3daqyE which gives a really clear exposition on this topic.
farvision 2 years ago
You make me laugh again... Thanks God that green cat is invisible!! just kidding...
Look, maybe I can't give you a clear explanation, but I believe in God, I know that there is a God, that's my faith, my conviction, my assurance.
adangelica 2 years ago
Glad to make you laugh! I'm not sure, but maybe the green cat is really purple. All I'm saying is that there is a lot out there to learn about the world. I and many others get our assurance from ourselves and other people, not from a green and (?) purple cat that we can't see. i invite you to examine what your believe and I assure you that without belief in god is freeing and empowering. 15 min seeing HOME, is awesome, everything is perfect, "the planet's beauty and its delicate harmony" I liked that.
Why not believe in God? He is the wonderful maker...
adangelica 2 years ago
Yes, quite beautiful ... keep watching. The only thing that will save us is our knowledge, not a god. As for why not believe in a god? We have better explanations for the harmony - it's evolved. Non balanced systems get eliminated automatically. The current explanations leave no room for a maker. Mutations are proven to be random and selection occurs by the environment on organisms. Surely you know this basic biology?

incredible916 2 years ago
incredible916, I'd be happy to leave you to stew in your confusions except that would not be ethical. Pushing IDiotic non-science into classrooms! You keep out of other peoples business and we will leave you alone. Until then, I will be a militant antitheist.
farvision 2 years ago
farvision, you're doing a good job of keeping out of other people's business by bashing Christianity, and every other religion for that matter, in your comment on a CHRISTIAN video. By the way, your "science" wasn't there at the formation of the American education system. So, in essence, the people who removed creation science from classrooms were meddling in other peoples' business. I will always and forever fight for the cause of Christ.
JAREDKIRCH 2 years ago
Why not fight for the principle (love thy neighbor, for example?) instead of insisting that an invisible person exists?
farvision 2 years ago
i never said God was a person, God is beyond you and I. I can't describe it to you, because you refuse to believe it. Sure, you can say the same about humanism, but I've studied everything, and I have made up my mind.
JAREDKIRCH 2 years ago
A 'person' is a being with awareness. Just because the awareness is putatively more than ours doesn't make your mythological being not a person in my definition. You can describe it, you refuse to. I would 'believe' if you gave some evidence. Humanism is not about beings other than humans who we know exist! You are close minded now by having made up your mind? Do you know about tiktaalik and ring species?
farvision 2 years ago
I can't give you evidence because if I gave you all the evidence i know, you would give worldly claims as to why that evidence couldn't possibly coincide with what "science" has told you. Anyway, on to the next thing. If a person is a being with awareness, then does that mean dogs are people, because I've seen dogs that are very smart, smarter than some humans. On the other hand, a human with a severe mental disability can't fit the description of a person
JAREDKIRCH 2 years ago
JAREDKIRCH you can't give me evidence because it wouldn't be actual evidence! That's the only reason I can see for you not giving any evidence. You might consider that both the dog and the mentally disabled could be considered persons. Religions tend to make people have really big egos.
farvision 2 years ago
i never claimed to be in a religion.
JAREDKIRCH 2 years ago
You believe in a god (JC) that has supernatural powers. That's a religion whether you want to accept that definition or not. Anyway, you believe in imaginary beings for which there is not a shred of evidence in the observable world. By big ego I just mean that religious people tend to think that they have the Truth, while in the meantime ignoring actual facts about the actual universe. Their ego is so big that they can't accept being 100% wrong about things.
farvision 2 years ago
Are you saying Jesus Christ didn't exist? When I went to Rome last February, I got to see the actual census that Caesar Augustus decreed, and I saw the birth record of Jesus himself. As you've said, hard evidence doesn't lie. I'm not religious. religious people go to church every sunday and make sure everyone sees the good works they do, so everyone sees how "righteous" they are. Those people are the ones you're talking about. You don't realize the difference between Religion and Jesus Christ.
JAREDKIRCH 2 years ago
Jesus Christ is a god (or son of one or whatever). People who believe in gods have a religion, though it seems to be a modern thing to deny having a religion (because it's not a reasonable thing to do?) while simultaneously ascribing to supernatural things, which is part of the usual definition of a religion. I don't see why you try to hide your belief in something that doesn't exist by using the smoke screen of calling it not a religion.
farvision 2 years ago
It's funny, you keep referring to Jesus Christ as "a god" he IS God! Go look up the Webster's definition of religion, and see how God is phrased. Also, look at the fourth definition of it. It reminds me of you ;)
JAREDKIRCH 2 years ago
Yes, JC is one of the many gods that people have made up. The evidence for him is just as strong as Zeus.

The fourth google hit for 'birth record of Jesus' (without quotes) was amusing ...
farvision 2 years ago
Yes, I think it likely that there was no Jesus Christ. See the movie 'The God Who Wasn't There'. Setting aside your claim for a record of a birth, the exact date is disputed and probably not Dec 25. Further and really damning is the resemblance of the Jesus story to pagan god stories from earlier times.
farvision 2 years ago
I was told by the Cardinali not to give great detail of what i saw. Believe it, or not. I can tell you it was behind bulletproof glass guarded by seven members of the Vatican police. I paid a lot of money for it.

Well Dr. farvision, I'm sorry I can't convince you of the stuff I saw. Tell me this, If you stumbled upon the cure for cancer, and your boss told you not to tell ANYONE of what you found. JAREDKIRCH 2 years ago
i never said it was December 25. It was an estimate of what happened that time period. Damning? really? Great word choice.
JAREDKIRCH 2 years ago
Sure. Virgin birth, resurection etc etc ... for previous gods.
farvision 2 years ago
what about prophecy?
JAREDKIRCH 2 years ago
@farvision you are correct in that the date of Christmas is when people use to celebrate a pagan god. Thats why we celebrate Christ birth to say that he is more powerful and is more substantial then the gods of the Pagans. Just like there are days that are not the exact day of an event that happened but is remembered on a different date. so that doesn't negate the reality of Jesus Christ life death and resurrection.

JAREDKIRCH 2 years ago
Perhaps if you follow his thinking you will realize the trap you are in.
farvision 2 years ago
I'm not in any trap. I've been set free. I looked at two options concerning death. The first, streets of gold, mansions, and eternal happiness. The second, death. Burial. The End.
The guy in that video was too fascinated with Atheism to focus on his relationship with God.
JAREDKIRCH 2 years ago
I disagree. You believe that there is life after death because that feels good, despite the various evidence against such a thing. The problem with 'focusing on god' is that it ignores the actual world! It literally makes people delusional (belief in something that doesn't exist).
farvision 2 years ago
No, I believe in life after death because it's better than death. Give me the evidence against life after death. Please. When I focus on God, I see the world through a new pair of eyes. I don't care about what people say, but what God says, and yes, he does exist.
JAREDKIRCH 2 years ago
In other words, JAREDKIRCH, you believe in something because that's emotionally satisfying. If you cut your finger, believing that it's not bleeding all over the floor would feel good, but it just isn't true. Objectively we see the decay of the body. We know that the brain depends on the body and many experiments have shown. See the story of Phineas Gage!! Read Phantoms in the Brain by Ramachandran and Blakeslee!
farvision 2 years ago
It seems to me you outrightly reject the metaphysical! You think inside the box known as the physical realm of existence. It seems to me that you have accepted the idea that nothing exists outside of what we have explored. You believe there is no God, and probably would shout it at the top of your lungs(Webster's religion no. 4). Haha, praise God! What a revelation! the very thing you are trying to disgrace is in essence the same thing you partake in!
JAREDKIRCH 2 years ago
No, I don't reject abstract thought. I certainly don't think that what we know is all there is, I'm a scientist! If there was nothing more to discover, I'd be out of a job! I don't believe there are no gods, I just don't see any evidence for them. We can explain the observable universe well without using gods as an explanation. Adding gods makes things much worse (where did they come from). Show evidence. I don't think you can and your story about JC's birth certificate is unsubstantiated
farvision 2 years ago
You're funny! I'm beginning to warm up to you! And here I thought you were just another scientist, hiding behind a title and years of force-fed information, and that started to seem like a description of you! Did I read somewhere that you were a molecular biologist, or is that false? Don't think a degree can help you in anything but a job.

science proves a god.
and even if there is no god. you would still have lived a good life by obeying him
plocusman 2 years ago 4
plocusman, that's a ridiculous assertion. But as a humanist I can see that is not moral, which you certainly can't do based on your religion!
farvision 2 years ago
your pretty lost, my friend. how do you prove there is no god? you must have faith to believe there is no god. so you and me are alike in some ways.
im gonna pray for you

plocusman, you are a tape recorder, spewing back old arguments long eliminated from the discussion.
