@energymousepictures The 2nd song I believe is Requiem for a Dream. Its off the soundtrack. Now there are a few songs on that soundtrack that sound a lot a like the 2nd one. It should be that one. Hope this helps:)
Leigh and Olivier, Taylor and Burton, Jolie and Pitt, the problem with great couples is that WOMEN loose their beauty...men remain boys...ashes to ashes..dust to dust..
Great video. I LOVE the end with her and the 2 little boys, whom I'm assuming are her grandsons. It's nice to see that side of her, the maternal side that I assumed wasn't really there because I know she didn't spend a lot of time with her daughter when she was little. And it was weird seeing her in jeans. lol :)
astoning personality, incredibly beauty , i think that despite all the problems she had , she will always be one of the most loved actresses , so delicate and so strong at the same time , love her so much...................
as she aged, she looked so different from her Scarlett days. still good looking but the cuteness was gone. she probably destroyed her lungs too with all the smoking besides mental illness.
This video is amazing. Posted it before, always thought was not "nice" for Olivier to leave Leigh when she was ill and probably needing him the most...love is "thru thick AND thin" after all...who knows what happened there! But feel he never liked HER amazing success in movies....would imagine ideal situation, king of stage and queen of movies!
Vivien and Laurance were a stunning pair and can't be duplicated.
Even though Viven had to deal with maniac depression and tuberculosis throughout her life she always remained stellar in her acting, always professional.
THere is only one Vivien Leigh and she will be remembered like she wanted as one of the best actresses ever not just the most beautiful and thank you for this wonderful tribute.
Yes, absolutely yes! An extraordinary woman, an unique actress, and a tender little baby inside who wanted just be loved!!! Rip in paradise delicate rose!!!
that footage was amazing. some of it i've never seen before which was a real treat! thanks! the best tribute to Miss Vivien Leigh i've seen on youtube.
Delicate, fragile, volatile heart. Sensitive, intelligent, soulful actress. Beautiful creature, with a unique smile. One of the screen's most memorable talents.
Brillant display of Miss Leigh's life :) May she rest in peaceful serenity knowing we will always miss and love her :)You are our angel, Miss Leigh :)
Who knows what happened in their private lives but I always thought horrible Olivier leaving her after sooo much....and when she needed him the most....Love is after all thru thick and thin!!
In May 1967, she was rehearsing to appear with Michael Redgrave in Edward Albee's A DELICATE BALANCE when she became ill with tuberculosis but, after resting for several weeks, seemed to be recovering. On the night of July 7, Merivale discovered her body on the floor. She'd been attempting to walk to the bathroom, and as her lungs filled with liquid, she had collapsed....
Vivien Leigh is a great actress..and intense and passionate actress. Eventhough there were numerous accounts of her being a "crazy" person, I feel empathy for her. I love this actress!
if you notice she started looking crazier and crazier. You could really see the madness on her face. Kind of scared me. I heard that she was bipolar and her disorder caused her to be so promiscuos and it embarassed her husband Olivier so much because he loved her but couldn't control her sleeping around and mood swings.
So hauntingly beautiful... There will never be another Vivien Leigh ever. If she was alive today, Ms. Leigh would certainly love this tribute, I'm sure.
When Larry shook Vivien's hand at 4:52 during that award presentation, were they already divorced? Seem kinda weird for husband and wife to shake hands like that.
I like your video clip and have rated it as awesome. Please check out my new clip of 1930's cigarette cards of Vivien Leigh, George Formby, Errol Flynn, Gracie Fields, Bette Davis, Joan Crawford, Gary Cooper, Fred Astaire, and Vivien Leigh.
A stunning video worthy of an actress like her and a life like hers. The scenes of her putting on her makeup reminded me of Thomas Mann's "Death in Venice". A classic piece!
This was brilliant.. music ethereal yet tension filled, driven, anticipating a very sad end. I've read two bios, when she died he was crushed, he spent 6 hours sitting with her, devastating.
So Delicate it made me cry... Vivien is breath taking!!! I adore her.. the meanings she represents! To Die For!! Period. Great work! What's that lovely music pls?
Hi, I left comment before I saw this. The music selection is genius, almost a manic effect, fitting due to her condition. I've always thought he undermined her to an extent. Yes, he looked down on Hollywood, but she DID win AcdmyAwd for GWTW in 1st movie, maybe a bit jealous too. They really were incompatible, she really needed a man who could really connect w/Vivien the woman. Wld like to read something that really reveals intimate truth.
i think they were compatable but he just couldn't take a lot of it anmore after awhile. ofcoure there were prolly jealousies like in any other relationship, i can personally relate to theirs. You should read Terry Coleman's Olivier bio, Vivien Leigh by Hugo Vickers, The Oliviers by Felix Barker, Laurence Olivier by Anthony Holden, and Confessions of an Actor by Laurence Olivier himself. peicing it all together opens up new perspectives :). thanks for your comments <3
Also, there was, I think an A&E production called Children of the Gods (when A&E was worth watching)of their lives, and it showed how he would almost antagonize her in working together on rehearsals for theatre productions. I understand the nightmare it must have been. I tend to be more of a nurture theorist than nature, and have always wondered if parents sending her to England as 6 yr old(?) to cold boarding school traumatized her.
There were probably lots of examples where, had circumstances been different, things would have been easier for her period and easier and for Olivier in their marriage. They were both obsessed with work-Olivier because he wanted to be the best and Vivien because she wanted to live up to what she thought were his standards of her and also probably because it kept her focused as she had to work hard to not let her bipolar disorder affect her professionalism and her desire to be a great actress.
They loved each other very much, otherwise they wouldn't have gotten together and certainly wouldn't have left their respective spouses for each other. None of us have the right to judge their relationship or judge Laurence Olivier in that relationship as we didn't know them. I think he did his best given the circumstances. there were just unfortunate things that befell them as a couple, especially Vivien's ill health
Today she would have been diagnosed with Bi-Polar disorder. She drank, was unfaithful and she spiarled into her neurosis becoming impossible to live with. She
was also striken with TB. This will NEVER negate the fact that she was beautiful and ethereal. She gave gave
us he beauty and talent, I will never forget seeing her
and Oliver staring in The Prince and the Showgirl, at the Theatre Royal in Brighton. They were magic together. In real life the magic was tested.
