I love this and everything the kadane brothers have ever touched. There's no way this isn't a huge nod to Pink Floyd's Live @ Pompeii, especially with the pan across the back of the cabinet with "THE NEW YEAR" stencil :) very nice
Precisely my point...Malmstein is all "blazing" guitar pyrotechnics and were I to watch him, it'd be to appreciate the isolateable element of speed...But the latter doesn't hold a flame to the song craftsmanship of the above...The Malm doesn't convey meaning, rather theatric technicality...That's not to strip the above of "technicality" per se...As you pointed out, playing slow presents its own challenges, though it's nice that it services (or constructs) the song and isn't an end in itself!
this is far less boring than yngwie blazing fingers with no heart malstein. he makes me yawn, this has, umm, feeling, and a slow plodding build, that takes, an extreme amount of patience to play in time, try it, try to play slow and in time, it's hard as fuck.
Immense.

Nice. Reminds me of Slint, and the video makes me think of Pink Floyd Live at Pompei. Good stuff.

Is anyone as thoughtful and intelligent as the Kadane brothers? I will always cherish Bedhead/New Year...
