@jconasesameseedbun One of the best songs in the world in my opinion, but I suppose when combined with your opinion thats a fucking big compliment to Radiohead haha
@grimchain but radiohead has so many much better songs. creep is just overly simplistic and over played. i don't even think that radiohead likes this song anymore.
@kaweichan Nah, processed isn't the word. More like...polished. Musically it sounded good, but there wasn't anything raw or emotional in it just like you said. =)
If I was at a concert and someone covered Creep instead of one of Radiohead's more amazing songs, I'd barf everywhere. I'm so tired of people only liking Radiohead or knowing them for this song. They have so much more briliance than this song. Don't get me wrong, this song is great, but it's so worn out. If you're a real Radiohead fan, you don't identify them with this song.
@IsabellaIsaklepto well said man this is one of radioheads greatest songs but u really have to listen to there other stuff to really apreciate there music :)
Radiohead more amazing songs. But I think what makes this one THE radiohead song is moreso the emotion put into it (by thome york). Some of my favorite Radiohead songs consist of: all i need, exit music, let down, the bends, and I will.
But honestly, lyrically none can stand up to creep. It's just that song that people can relate to.
@Werewolf211 I am one of the biggest Radiohead fans out there, so I love all of the songs. If you like Karma Police and High and Dry, I'd recommend listening to The albums Ok Computer and The Bends. Their later stuff is a lot different, but it is just as amazing if not more amazing. (:
well, i think that the cover is good and it's obvious that the original song it's better when the real band play it. also weezer is an excelent band and i love all his songs
Well of course this isn't better than the original, but I am indeed surprised at the ease and eloquence weezer has succeeded to bring with this song, unlike some other covers, they kept the melancholy, wretched atmosphere.
90% of covers dont sound nearly as good as the original, but to say this is awful simply cause a band covered it that you may not like, or that the original artists (radiohead) arent performing it, is ignorant and just downright impressive that some of you people not all of you, are just that narrow headed, take the damn song in stride it is what it is...a cover, i wish some of you would just realize that.
@dannybiach : Actually, I've seen them a few times, live, starting with the OK Computer tour in Chicago. I think "How To Disappear Completely" is a masterpiece. Honestly, I liked Radiohead better before they started trying to sound like Kraftwerk. But, and I don't mean this in a disrespectful way, you're probably too young to even know Kraftwerk. Most Radiohead fans are too young to realize they weren't the first nor the best. They're still incredible, though.
@skrason whaaaat? ok your gonna have to be more specific... on what album are they trying to sound like Kraftwerk?? cause I know who they are and I think they are too electronic for radiohead... well it depends what song, tell me at least 2 or 3 songs from kraftwerk that sound like radiohead and ill admit that you were right...
@dannybiach : I didn't mean they were ripping off Kraftwerk or anything. I just think they started becoming "weird" knob-twiddlers for weirdness' sake around Kid A. Don't get me wrong, I think that album and every album after have at least 3 gorgeous, amazing songs on them. But 30 years from now, no one is going to be singing "Like Spinning Plates" around a campfire. They'll be singing Creep, though, because it's timeless. Know what I mean?
@rollingstonecold I disagree wholeheartedly. I've played live easily dozens of times. It makes it harder to keep a beat, because 99% of audiences can't keep a steady beat.
Someone who played live performances countless of times. do you know of ear plugs? Well maybe you play in lousy cheap gigs or smth thats why you dont. Even if you dont have an earplug, im sure your drummer are well trained enough to have a metronome, which is himself and doesnt need the crowd to clap for the sake of keeping the beat....you must have a bad timing yourself for a musician who play live....like seriously
@unCIvILGamingPs3 But i am a musician. I have played trombone, baritone and the Tenor sax for a while now. I personally have never been to a rock concert, nor do i understand why someone would clap while a musician is playing. They never do at any concert i have been for the CSO(Chattanooga Symphony and Orchestra). Also, Some one already posted a great answer to this. As a musician i am sure you can keep time yourself, yes? So you can ignore the clapping.
@lonelyXessence but its always awesome to hear a different version of the song sung by an awesome band as long as it doesnt suck which so far as i can tell other than the audio this doesnt
Well, I wasn't saying that exactly. lol now that I look at it, that comment was a little rude of me. I just really don't understand why they hate the song.
It was too much "pop", got misinterpreted and became a part of the shallow mainstream of music, while songs like "Street Spirit", "Idioteque", "Pyramid Song", and "There There" were legitimately great songs and became famous in a way that was more acceptable to the band.
