0:13 - is that sword the inspiration for the Shark Sword in the Severance: BLade of Darkness game? I think so (it looks a lot like those choppas that Warhammer Fantasy orcs use, too)
eggs07 is probably on the right track as to how they did this shot. I'm not sure if just using a Steadicam alone would have done it because of the lens height. A camera truck was probably used with the steadicam rather than a dolly and track. What really gives it away is the speed change a couple of seconds after the soldiers start bunching up into the shot. The camera was ramped down from 24fps down to at least 12fps or 10fps.
I'm not suer the camera is on a dolly \ tracks.. there's a bit of shaking there. Perhaps a steadycam on the back of a vehicle? Either way, the soldiers would have to step in from the side, or else get run over by whatever the camera is being moved by.
TRIFORCE!!!

This carry is better than that one made in the second episode of the Lord of the Rings

The only unsuccessful part of this is the execution.

Is that pun intended?

Yes. Otherwise, the scene stands head and shoulders above the rest.

Gilliam loves those pullbacks! My favorite moment in Brazil is the dolly out in the cooling tower.

Thanks - is there any chance of posting the scene when Berthold outruns the bullet and saves the baron's life?

Thank you! Thank you! Before the days of CGI... best authentic pullback scene.

Truly fantastic sequence, even when you know the soldiers are stepping into frame to hide the camera tracks.
