Very nice run out! Nice control of the cueball--better even than it had to be. He should work more on positional strategy in order to avoid moving the cueball around that much when it's not necessary.
This kid is obviously very good. He is a bit over-hyped about playing a champion. That's understandable. I watched another of his videos and you can see the difference in demeanor - watch?v=0hX7WA2ARos - Having said that, I have seen lots of 14, 15, 16 17 year olds that are this good but the real challenge in going beyond this level is dedication, desire, and the mental game. Time will tell if we see him in the spotlight or not. Good luck, Mike.
Most people have the right idea here. Archer is an awsome shot. Everyones styles are different. Some are slow and cautious and others are fast paced and hyper like this kid. HE IS 14 YRS.OLD!! Can't deny he is awesome. Until you have your own youtube video running out on Archer (at 14 yrs. old) don't armchair quarterback on here. Give credit where credit is due and lose the negativity! You give pool and yourself a bad name.
really, it doesnt matter who you run out against. running out against archer isnt any more impressive than running out against a noone, unless youre nervous or something?
I was just about to post the same thing, so I'm glad I read further. Once you're on the table it makes no difference at all who's sitting in the chair. The table is your real opponent, not the other guy.
being able to hold your nerves against such player - you know that if you make mistake you probably lose the rack - and being able to keep your form in tense matches is the main thing... in training its easier to run out
LoL at the comments posted here...give the kid a break--being over-compulsive about his shots and how chalked his tip is is much better than losing a rack.
Nivekst is Spot on...their are probably many pool players out there who would do cart wheels for a pre-shot routine if that is what it took to improve thiie runout game. So to each thier own.
Well ill admit he has a few habits around the table that are slightly annoying, wait no pretty god damned annoying, but he is very young, you cant expect a polished game. to me it looks like hes getting by on a lot of natural ability. he needs a little 50-100$ set action, a little one pocket knowledge, he needs to get his ass kicked a couple of times so bad that he wants to quite the game. these kind of things polish your game up aventually. hes got loads of potential though.
Who cares about he much he moves around the table or chalks. You're allowed to chalk after every shot lol. Ralf Souqet is just as cautious when he plays. Other than that, great cue ball control indeed.
How can anyone say somethin is missing from his game? The object(personally) is to run out each time if possible, and thats what he did. Nice Rack buddy...
Who is this guy? This is the best pool table run I've seen on YouTube, better than any other 9-ball championship videos... they are boring compared to this. This is EXACTLY how I want to be when I go to the bars and bet on drinks. The cue ball control is excellent! Why have I not heard of this guy before?
I guess you havn't seen much pool then. You havn't heard of him because he is not a champion yet. You don't have to be flashy when running a rack all that matters is making the nine ball.
@ all the people who are talking about him moving like a monkey, too fast, etc
isn't the video just sped up?
the guys at the table behind him look like they're moving really quickly too

You can feel the resignation off J. Archer right after Tostado makes the 6 ball then finishes an incredibly well executed run out.
Thanks for posting this Itosado5*.

The young man has the stroke but something is missing from his game. Stop moving and chalking like a monkey. Wish he gets better when he is grown up.

Is he shot sighted, took a hell of a long time looking at the same balls over and over.
GET ON WITH IT.
