And Ford has made so many advances in build quality that you can now choose to buy American and not feel hestitant about the long term value of the vehicle. Japanese cars are loosing their reliability scores. Look at poor safety scores on Toyota! Most Japanese cars are now made in North America with the same building standards as the rest of the American cars. Hats off to Ford for building a really beautiful car that in my opinion surpasses the Japanese in every angle including aesthetics, solidity, safety and reliability. Take one for a test drive and see what your getting.
I have a 2008 Taurus. I'm not a fan of American cars. Honestly, don't trust them. In fact, I didn't even buy this car; it's a company car I drive. But I've got to tell you.. I LOVE this car. We have a 3 Series BMW and an Acura MDX in the drive way, and we strongly believe the Taurus stands competes really well. Fun to drive (this is no Buick), Tons of room, ULTRA quite... don't dismiss the Taurus. This is not your Dad's Taurus friends.

Ford is kicking ass and doing their homework! The Focus is vastly superior to the Corolla and Civic. The Fusion blows away Camry and Accord. The Versa and Fit are nothing more than go-carts with Briggs engines.
I haven't had a chance to drive the 2010 Taurus yet, but if it's anywhere near as nice as the other 2 Ford cars I mentioned, look out Avalon and Acura!

This car does not look sporty to me. I even squinted my eyes to see if I was wrong. Nope, same results. This car looks like a boxy Fugly Focus, just a little larger.
The rear end looks sort of resembles Chrysler 300. So there's no innovation there, either. But then again, what can you expect from a guy who started his career designing car seats for a van that transported elderly people.
I just don't see any innovation or "hotness" with this car.
Stop comparing this masterpiece with the crappy Camry. Its suppose to be like the P.O.S. Toyota Avalon. But yeah the Camry and Avalon are Very Ugly Ass (V.U.A.) cars. Plus this will out last any Toyota.

wow, Ford received billions of dollars in bailout money so they could keep selling pos cars like this new Taurus. First off they raised the hood so it could look like a mustang-1. this decreases visibility, forcing the seating position higher and decreasing headroom 2. The back looks like a plan that ended up in the trash pile of an older generation altima designer 3. Spray on textured interior for the nice tactile sensation and that fake leather look - very classy lol...
Why would they take Govt bailout money if they didn't need to? Had they taken the money they'd have ended up with Obama & Co telling them how to run a car company, a fate GM & Chrysler find themselves in now.

I was stunned by the lines and harmony within this car. I especially loved that it doesn't look bulky like the Camry but instead has cleaner finishes, cool technology and great appointments! A definite plus for ford!

I know Ford was attempting to make the new Taurus a performance luxury sedan, and although they did create a better styled car than the previous models in the lineup - it's still a uninspiring sedan that has many luxury cues (headlights, chrome accent features) mashed with performance styling (raised hood, wider stance) on a base sedan (roof line over the rear glass, tail lights, exhaust tip placement). The seating is an improvement, but the dash still appears cheap.
Woa, they really upped the anty on this one. I remember my Taurus, a 98 maroon thing. As far as ugly cars go, it took the cake. I wonder if Mercury will remake the Sable now.
I never like ford, except the Mustang, but DAmn I must say I'm impressed with that. I love the interior and that body style looks so european. Love it.
I just bought a 1999 Taurus that I love! And then I found this... I was so amazed! You look at the interior and the incredibly cool ice blue lighting, it's so amazing! I told my dad he should turn in his 2007 Edge for one kinda as a joke, and he said "Maybe I will".

I'm actually impressed. For the longest time I thought the Taurus was one of the ugliest vehicles on the planet - a plain white box with four wheels. I would never have considered buying one. I may have to test drive one of these.
The American Big 3 automakers have been making superior products for some time now. People are finally starting to notice now that they're completely blowing the doors off of everything else. I can't believe that people are still buying those ugly toyotas.

This car looks like an ordinary car. From the side it looks like the tail lights are from the Galant. Car designs these days are all looking the same, especially when it comes to head and tail lights. Their running out of ideas now.
Beacuse those people don't understand maybe from cars. I own Ford Escrot since 1993 years, so far that Ford role the 260.000 km. and It never been in service. I have been droven it every single day. I don't like similar car like my Ford even mercedes or bmw ! The Design of the Ford Escort is impressive even in 2009 year.
It looks like an updated 1998 honda accord with a more modern art deco body.
The interior is okay but the looks really old seperating the gauges. I like the radar is a cool add on. I don't like the controlling environment this car brings for two reasons first it comes in to safety factor when you have to drive defensively in advert event like passing on interstate. Secondly too much control when laws force mandates on engine and speed operation. Just my two cents.
I do think a switch to change instrument colors would be nice. Though this is a good looking car, has there been any thought given to the return of high fuel prices? It can happen and if this car is not good on gas mileage it will be a failure if gas goes back up again. Lighter and more economical is the word Ford! get over what used to be, this is a new day.
Ford really needs this car after the whole flex failure. I think the new car is great, for fans of american motors, i hardly think the new 2010 Taurus even compares to the genesis overall ;)
Um yeah your not going to have that car very long lets face it. Hyundai is SHIT. my motor just went out in my 2007 Azera with only 28K. If you still own the piece of Hyundai. I strongly suggest getting rid of the shit.
The Ford Mustang offered that option, known as Ford MyColor. Hopefully, that will be available on the Taurus, but there is the possibility, guided by a specific design choice (alleged ease on the eyes), that you may not be able to change the illumination.
Nothing wrong with a GTO, though I'd rather have a G8 GT. Even better if it does cost that little for that kind of car.
And, even though Pontiac is going away, by law, GM must still support the car with warranty and parts, even if the government has to do it for them.
And, if the car ends up becoming cheaper through depreciation before I buy it, that means I won't have to spend much to get a powerful car in the first place, so what's so bad about that?
Since 1996, the Taurus represented some of the worst things that Ford allowed to happen to that line.
From a radical design that just wasn't appealing to a design that was improved, but had nothing special to offer. It suddenly became a car that nobody really wanted and had a "rent-me" stigma until Ford stopped making the Taurus.
Now, the Taurus is poised for a comeback with performance and sheet metal that doesn't politely say "rent me." It authoritatively says "DRIVE ME!"
One interior problem is probably the gear stick, not as slick looking as the rest of the interior.

I was stunned by the lines and harmony within this car. I especially loved that it doesn't look bulky like the Camry but instead has cleaner finishes, cool technology and great appointments! A definite plus for ford!

I know Ford was attempting to make the new Taurus a performance luxury sedan, and although they did create a better styled car than the previous models in the lineup - it's still a uninspiring sedan that has many luxury cues (headlights, chrome accent features) mashed with performance styling (raised hood, wider stance) on a base sedan (roof line over the rear glass, tail lights, exhaust tip placement). The seating is an improvement, but the dash still appears cheap.

I just bought a 1999 Taurus that I love! And then I found this... I was so amazed! You look at the interior and the incredibly cool ice blue lighting, it's so amazing! I told my dad he should turn in his 2007 Edge for one kinda as a joke, and he said "Maybe I will".

I'm actually impressed. For the longest time I thought the Taurus was one of the ugliest vehicles on the planet - a plain white box with four wheels. I would never have considered buying one. I may have to test drive one of these.

This car looks like an ordinary car. From the side it looks like the tail lights are from the Galant. Car designs these days are all looking the same, especially when it comes to head and tail lights. Their running out of ideas now.

Beacuse those people don't understand maybe from cars. I own Ford Escrot since 1993 years, so far that Ford role the 260.000 km. and It never been in service. I have been droven it every single day. I don't like similar car like my Ford even mercedes or bmw ! The Design of the Ford Escort is impressive even in 2009 year.

It looks like an updated 1998 honda accord with a more modern art deco body.
The interior is okay but the looks really old seperating the gauges. I like the radar is a cool add on. I don't like the controlling environment this car brings for two reasons first it comes in to safety factor when you have to drive defensively in advert event like passing on interstate. Secondly too much control when laws force mandates on engine and speed operation. Just my two cents.

I do think a switch to change instrument colors would be nice. Though this is a good looking car, has there been any thought given to the return of high fuel prices? It can happen and if this car is not good on gas mileage it will be a failure if gas goes back up again. Lighter and more economical is the word Ford! get over what used to be, this is a new day.

The Ford Mustang offered that option, known as Ford MyColor. Hopefully, that will be available on the Taurus, but there is the possibility, guided by a specific design choice (alleged ease on the eyes), that you may not be able to change the illumination.

Nothing wrong with a GTO, though I'd rather have a G8 GT. Even better if it does cost that little for that kind of car.
And, even though Pontiac is going away, by law, GM must still support the car with warranty and parts, even if the government has to do it for them.
And, if the car ends up becoming cheaper through depreciation before I buy it, that means I won't have to spend much to get a powerful car in the first place, so what's so bad about that?
Either that, or I can buy an Audi.

Since 1996, the Taurus represented some of the worst things that Ford allowed to happen to that line.
From a radical design that just wasn't appealing to a design that was improved, but had nothing special to offer. It suddenly became a car that nobody really wanted and had a "rent-me" stigma until Ford stopped making the Taurus.
Now, the Taurus is poised for a comeback with performance and sheet metal that doesn't politely say "rent me." It authoritatively says "DRIVE ME!"
