  • Hey dude, great video! What's the name of the song you used for this video?

  • Hi there, I'm trying to find out about this Linux Mint I want to try it but I wish to find out more about how to install compiz fusion getting everything working I'll use it alongside Windows 7 (please don't be mad) if I just knew that step by step and how to install nvidia graphic card controller too if that's needed too or maybe it's installed by default with the system since your first use. I have 1 gb RAM memory but I've 128 mb shared for using them like a graphics card instead of a real one

  • Nice video InvariantVirus!

  • u mint people seem a bit egotistical about this...

  • way better than ubuntu

  • I've been using Xubuntu, and after a scratching my head a bit at first, I now have it how I want it. I've definitely considered Mint, especially the Community Editions.

  • Genial!

  • Great ViD!

I have been using Ubuntu 8.10 (Ultimate) for a couple of weeks. Just tried out Linux Mint 6, yesterday - Liked it so much, I commited it to a Dual Boot with XP. To Setup everything is a breeze!

  • Thanks. Glad you liked it.

  • Pretty Awesome. How much "harder" is it to load/use Ubuntu8.10 in comparison? it seems to me like 8.10 is better... I'll be switching to Linux/Ubuntu as soon as I purchase a new Laptop... any recommendations as to where to buy/find laptops without an OS installed? no more Windows for me, Thanks!

  • Ubuntu is still fairly easy to use except nothing is installed for you. Codecs, extra repositories and compiz settings manager need to be installed manually. With Mint everything you need to get started is set up for you.

Not sure about where to get a laptop. There are a few companies that offer Ubuntu instead of Windows that's usually cheaper. Plus you get full customer support.

  • Your better off just getting a good deal on a laptop w Vista on it and then just installing a Linux Distro over it. They are all pretty easy to install w a Live CD, plus you can try them out before you install. However i highly recommend Linux Mint as well. Its easy to use and is already pretweaked to run smooth.
