@donna1175 I was 10 years old and this song was the jam! Don't forget Dick Tracy Edward Scissorhands Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and If Looks Could Kill lol
@donna1175 I was 14 in 89 and spent almost the entire year at the movies. This song makes me feel like I can smell popcorn. I saw the 3 you mentioned plus Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade, Back to The Future 2, Lethal Weapon 2, Elm Street 5, Star Trek 5. plus literally dozens more great and no so great movies. I never realized 1989 was the Year of Sequels.
@donna1175 There are no words to describe how your comment made me feel. 1989 was amazing! I did not need to search for happiness in 1989, as it already existed. 2012 is proving to be just another nightmare.
Songs do not get much better than this. I heard this song at the Hartford fair five years back. But i have heard this song before that. I don't have enough fingers and toes to count how many memories this brings back. * sniff * ; )
I miss those days, I was in 6th grade when this came out in 89" I remember me and my friends being so excited about seeing the movie, sigh the days of innocence and pure world, Where the kids could go to the store by themselves and play outside until night time comes. :)
@ladygirl99 WOW! I AGREE WITH YOU!!!! I WAS 13 IN 1989 AND THE TIMES WERE SO FUN! ALL I HAD TO DO WAS BE A KID! I MISS THESE TIMES SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!
y'all got to appreciate the new edition for what it is. like, knowing what we know now, we can do a lot better, billy madison did it. but yknow, go create something. make the 2010s 10* better for the world, like ayn rand and bobby brown said about "I guess we are going to have to take them on (Oooooon our ooooooooown)" and while Bill Murray will always be Bill mUrray, Bobby Brown became a crackhead and took whitney houston with him. sometimes, the myth is greater than the man. peace.
wish i was born in the 1980s. but i luv my childhood, wouldnt give it up for anything in the world ( except guest starring on a Star Trek episode.........maybe) :P
Ray: Vigo wants in on the 21st century. He needs a human body to inhabit. Little Oscar must be it! Winston: Yeah, and I bet we're the only ones who can do anything about it!
The event movies of the 80's are unsurpassed in terms of quality matching hype: ET, Raiders Of The Lost Ark*, Aliens*, Gremlins*, Back To The Future, Batman, Ghostbusters...not Ghostbusters 2 though. Was that 90's? If so I would suggest we all visit "You Could Be Mine" from T2! Let's rock!

im only 15 and my dad forces me to listen to music from his time and before his time, and i have to admit that the beat in music from 80s and 90s better than musci now adays
Remember the scene when Bobby Brown says "hey Ghost Busters do you have another Proton Pack my Kid Brother really likes to have one" Proton Pack is not a toy.
As much as I love my life and would never trade it for anything... listening to this and seeing Ghostbusters make me want to be a kid again. Growing up in the late 80s and early 90s were just so innocent and pure. Music was great, movies were great, and we weren't attached to cell phones or iPods.
@greeneyedeej you'd love it that they are filming Ghostbusters 3 right now!!! at least Murray and Ramis are in this! i have no idea about Aykroyd! but i can't wait to see it! would be great if some old school rapper would make a hit song for the new one!
@jusaLOSER I did hear about the filming...I really do hope it is good, you know how some of these new Hollywood re-vamps are bad. Keeping my fingers crossed!!
@greeneyedeej you couldn't have said it better.. back then things were simple. music, movies, and no distractions... over kill on phones and ipods. maybe one day things would return.
@greeneyedeej ipods are still great though as i'm able to listen to my music everywhere. But i do agree some people are too attached to their phones and Blackberry's are too common.
I'am going to tell you guys something, i was born in 1984 and i saw this movie in a theater that now is a damn dollar store back in 1989 on my 5th birthday. People talk about the 70's, being good times, bullshit, the late 80's and early 90's was the time to be kid. you will never see good shit like this agian or and thing will ever come close to the late 80's era.

@MIKEDAMONE8408 Besides, in the 70s, you had the "gas crisis", Iran hostage crisis, Carter, Watergate, a horrid economy in the late 70s...GEE sounds like today?
@MIKEDAMONE8408 Funny...I consider the early 80s to the mid 90s to be the best times, like 1980 to 1995/'96. But I was born in 1975, so I remember my youthful life from age 5 to about 19-20. After age 20 things were never the same anyways...I think it's that way for most people. I don't really recall the 1970s, but I grew up with a lot of 70s reruns and movies during the 80s.
Ah the days when Times Square was the place to go to see a movie. Whether it was $7 or $1. A fun place to go hang out, play in the Arcades, eat at Howard Johnsons or one of the Stackhouses. Or just watch the street performers.

@Shonnie718 your making me jealous. Comcast took off our vh1 soul and replaced it with centric. about a year ago. I would watch vh1 soul constantly everday I basically knew all their videos.
i have herd IF ghostbusters 3 comes out they are bringin in new ghostbustbusters.PLEASE PLEASE DONT BRING OUT GHOSTBUSTERS 3. IT WILL MILK IT .thumbs up if u agree
WHATEVER BOBBY PUT OUT WAS HOT.. I USE THIS GHOSTBUSTER SOUNDTRACK WHEN IM AT WORK AND I SING TO MYSELF TO KEEP ME GOIN SO I SING THIS SONG AMONG OTHER SONGS THAT HE HAVE CAUSE I KNOW IT WORD FOR WORD..THIS SONGS GETS YOU GOIN
@KONVICTSOUTHful gess what i still have this motion picture soundtrack. i love this movie just because of bobby and the world trade ctr shot on the edding credits
@KONVICTSOUTHful gess what i still have this motion picture soundtrack. i love this movie just because of bobby and the world trade ctr shot on the edding credits i remember where i sat in the theater when saw this movie amc myerpark 14 in houston theater5 middle section 4 seat from the isle
@MajorBerto88 me too. Problem is New York is a different place than it was when the first two movies were filmed, and I just have a bad feeling about the 3rd movie.........Hope I am wrong.
@ashland1977 what u mean m8 the 3rd movie?dont say they are bringing ghostbusters 3 out.i love both 2 movies but i think if they bring a 3rd movie out it wood just pure MILK ghostbusters. all togeather

Other songs played a lot on MTV during the summer of 1989:
Tom Petty & Heartbreakers-Running Down a Dream
Milli Vanilli-Baby Don't Forget My Number
Love & Rockets- So Alive
New Kids on the Block- I'll Be Loving You
The Bangles- Enternal Flame
Paula Abdul- Forever Your Girl

@Shonnie718 your making me jealous. Comcast took off our vh1 soul and replaced it with centric. about a year ago. I would watch vh1 soul constantly everday I basically knew all their videos.
