the thing that annoys me about this episode is that there is absolutely no shock that Kirk's nephew who was redheaded in the original series, is gay....there is not one person on the Enterprise who provides any sort of contrast or revulsion like in "Balance of Terror". It just seems to be pretty much a PC episode where everyone is accepting of homosexuality...even that one crewmen in Balance of Terror displayed a certain kind of bigotry the provided some conflict. but here is there is none. Why?
Somehow, I think the actor playing Kirk would do better with McCoy's part. He's a bit too snappy and aggressive as Kirk, who was more of a show of controled power in the iron-fist-in-a-velvet-glove kind of way.

Denise Crosby, your acting career is officially over. From STTRNG to a failed film career to this, ouch! At least they could have lit you better.

Spock is so cute here

@PeaceOfTruth I agree. I had a bit of crush, at one point, on the actor, Ben Tolpin,
who portrays Spock, here. Yes, Spock is cute here, and with good reason. :)

Her name was YARELL in the script.

Tell me, isn't this based on the unrealised script by David Gerrold for the TNG?

@Bla31n yep it is. Paramount thought it was too "risky" to produce

the acting's a bit wooden, but it's a good effort from a crew that isn't being paid and donates their own time to get the work done.

and I have to give them credit for the quality of SFX. Using modern computer technology, they can simulate and even improve upon TOS.
