  • are pushups also good for arms or only foor pecs??

  • i just subscribed, i can tell you have top quality character and am going to start using your workouts, thanks and keep contributing positivley to society

  • Anyone out there interested in chatting about working out? I really like Scooby's videos and website--it's great, and I am feeling the results!

  • hey scooby, how often can I do this ARMS superset?! every week, every month?!

  • I dont do this more than about once a month, any more is asking for trouble.

  • sure u can chit chat with me im curtis 703 297 9997

  • im started to see sum results!

    Thanxs Scooby!!!

  • actually scooby1961 makes an effort to do all of these workouts everyday. he proves that having an extremely fit body can be produced even with the cheapest of weights. i love watching these videos because it gives people some inspiration to not have to rely on a gym. we dont need to spend so much money on a membership and he proves it.

    Well done!

  • I doubt you got that big by working out like this mate.

  • good video man tryed it and gotta tell u it tired me out so bad i felt it the next day thx nice vids

  • i have two 10 lbs dumbells at home and dont really want to go buy ones with higher weights.

i can do around 70 reps before my arms become fatigued.

is there any benefit from my workout at all or am i just wasting my time?

i just started working out so any feedback would be appreciated.

    thanks

any body out there want to help a babe with some advice?

    fOG V0DmAT7QnvRH9pff

  • i work out my biceps seperate days than my triceps is that okay?

  • that is good, I myself work out triceps the same day as I am working out my chest since the triceps muscle works alot in chest exercises like benchpress. the same with biceps, work out ur back the same day as biceps since most back exercises requires some biceps power aswell

  • i am 13 years old and i want to get into lifting weights will this stop my growth if i lift at my age please reply back thank you

  • that is a common misconception. lifting doesnt stunt ur growth if u lift with proper form. the only way u can stunt ur growth by lifting is lifing with really bad form, such as deadlifting without keeping back straight.

  • bad form may lead to severe injuries and in time you will not be able to lift ANY weight...so choose rather small muscles growth then injuries...

  • sleepyhead7391 i tink im fucked i used to be bullied and i think i used bad form

i am 5'6 at 13 years old but i dont want to stop growing

  • dont worry most of ur growing happens between 14-16

  • gdgd but i lifted when i was 7

  • all i can say to an inexperienced bodybuilder is to do some research on a few decent sites copy videos on weight training using proper forms ask for advice from people in your gym who know what they are doing most people are happy to help. everyone on youtube is an 'experts' but a few hours research will do you wonders, check out some of my favourites, ive a few good workout videos saved especially for people wanting definition rather than muscular mass, hope this helps bud

  • I agree completely! Do your research. Question everything. Dont believe anyone, even me :) Even if you hear the same thing from 10 different website, still dont believe it - ask for proof, not anecdotal evidence. There is a lot of bad info out there and people just keep repeating it over and over and passing it down. Witness situps, they just wont go away!

  • cheers

  • Lifting weights stop growth. For your age try doing only pushups, crunches for abs and pullups. Don't lift heavy weights until you're 18 years old.

  • Hey, I've been lifting weights since I was 11/12 years old. Currently I'm 15 and I've grown since then. Now I'm 6'2. I must have been 5'7 or so when I was 11.

  • this is absolutely not true. i have lifting weights since i was twelve and i have grown at least eight inches since then. just remember to start out slow with light weight and good form.

  • I did not say it will STOP your growth, but it will definitely affect it. It has happened to me. Maybe if you did not lift weight you would have grown 12 inches.

  • I think it happened to me. I began lifting weights at the age of 13 too. I was 162cm tall then, and now I'm 17 years old and only 169cm. I don't know if it's the weight lifting or my hormones that's effecting my growth :(

    Anyone else have a solution?

  • i suggest checking out bodybuilding . com and doing some research asking some questions from experienced bodybuilders, i bodybuild but im by no means a pro that can answer that question man.

  • just make sure you get good nutrition and you should be allright

  • guys go to his website and there is nutrition beginner workout intermidiate workout and advanced workout you can print the workout and then do it

  • omg i couldnt stop crackking up, i kept going back to 2:20 to listen to that obnoxious "WRONG!". lol

  • Hehe yeah I laughed too.

  • hey scooby, how often can I do this ARMS superset?! every week, every month?!

  • Why is it everyone says 21's are bad to do?? on bodybuilding(.)com no one recommends em

  • hey scooby i watched all your videos and i think theyr great! its nice from u to share ur experience and want to help others u dont even know thats cool,

just wanted to ask if theres a good exercise for the upper back i can do with a normal set of dumbells?

keep on doin ur an inspiration bye

  • Repeat entire video five times? That can't be good for you...

  • ok, so what about my arms, will they be getting bigger even if im not sore?

  • hi, just one question,is being sore a must to gain muscle? because i just started lifting about a month and a half ago or so and i've been working out my arms 45min 3 days a week and im never sore and have only been sore once,i've been adding weight and still no soreness, and i was just wondering if i've been working out for nothing.

  • It can take months/years before you can train intensely enough to get sore. It comes with practice and experience lifting.

  • you say you work your arms 3 days a week. as far as i now thats not good, as you should let your arms hav a complete week to recover

take time doing each rep and focus on perfect form (a mirror helps acheiving this)

soreness is not nessesary but it is a good sign that you've worked hard

  • if you are experienced in the gym and are looking to increase size and strength arms should be done every three days. a week is way too long to wait.

  • (comment for Iamtheonlyhobo)

  • u are overtraining your arms, if u train like that then you won't make any gains. muscles require rest and nutrition. search the net for more info

  • Do you have a picture of yourself!!!!probably you are fat and out of shape.....HATER!!!

  • actually my friend I am a bodybuilder, and I am most certainly not a hater. I'm just another iron-slinging brother trying to give some advice to people who wanna get in shape or are developing an interest in bodybuilding bro. have a nice day.

  • well aparently he isnt overtraining his arms because HE IS RIPPED AS FUCK

  • I did the 21's yesterday when I went to the gym andd my arms were burning like hell. I almost began crying while doing them, and today I woke up real sore. I want to go do them again :)

  • ya 21's hav been my fav biceps exersise for a while. been doin it for about a year and theres been noticable growth in my arm

  • Yea I just started doing these yesterday and I can tell they're working. It burns like hell when I'm doing them but when I'm done I feel good knowing that I do some good arm workouts.

  • 21's are definitely one of the oldies but goodies!

  • DO AS I SAY NOT AS I DO !

    LOL

  • Remember folks, this is an ADVANCED workout and should not be used unless you have been lifting seriously for at least 6 months to a year. Also, only do this workout about once a month. Use less stressful arm workouts for your other weekly workouts inbetween.

  • i have a question, if i do this workout, will i be able to do your "advanced pushups" excercise a week after? if not, then how long do you reccomend i should wait before doing them? thanks!

  • looks like he is about to blow up

  • Dude you train TOO much, you need to relac abit, look at your muscles, they're HUGE! :b

  • killer is an understatement lol... i tried this workout earlier and i was crying like a little girl by the time i hit the shower

  • Haha I finally get your name now! Scooby 1961, 1961 is the year you were born

  • Bingo!

  • then repeat 5 times? omg lol. are there any forearm-targeting workouts?

  • you can seriously damage your muscles if you rest for that little while doing all those reps...

  • Not at all. For muscle growth you must contract the rest period. Try reading some nice training books, such as Pavel's.

  • sounds like ur having sex or having a SERIOUS SHIT!

  • hey scooby how long did it take to build all the mussle you. also i really admire you effort.

  • Thanks! I've been lifting since I was 21 (I'm 48 now) but I gained all my muscle over the first 20 years of lifting, very, very gradually.

  • wow twenty years good job sir no wonder ur body dosent look unnatural

  • thanks scooby..that will really help a lot of people esp when they have no time to go to a gym and wants to save money..and for those of you who doesn't agree like prezioso screw you!

  • that workout will give you injuries with the time. Totally wrong workout.

  • I dont understand what you are trying to say.

  • it dosent look like u work out 4 lower body

  • OMG ITS MISTA CLEAN

  • dude i got a question for ya. when i was doing the dumbel kick back i don't feel anything in my tricep it feels more like im working on my lats and biceps. am i doing something wrong?

  • u mite be using ur upperarm too much try to concentrate on pivoting at your elbow

  • why isnt he wearing any shoes?

  • that looks bad for your back

  • this isn't killer i've been doing this for like a year i use 25 pound ones tho cause i don't have heavier ones at home. it's still a good work out tho.

  • this is so fcking gay

  • It takes one to know one dear boy.

  • oh my

  • 3:09 He said "you gonna be dying"

Damn Mr. Clean wtf u talking about????

  • no really your heart stops working (serious)

  • The sound.... makes me want to pee

  • haha what a jew boy

  • eww look at your chest muscles contracting/twitching

  • dude, no harm meant, but you're just working against yourself. To answer your question about the food, the muscle won't turn to fat. This only happens in cases were considerable distrophy occurs. Also, I understand the financial dilemna, but you'll just have to break down and buy heavier wieghts,if you're trying to get some size.If you eat alot of junk food, you're not giving your muscles the nourishment they need to grow. You'll need carbs and protein, ideally.Chicken breast + glass of OJ is good :)

  • i may seem weak but i did like 5 IB dumbbells for about an hour straight it kinda felt messed up after but i do that each arm every day "TO CHEAP TO BUY HEAVIER DUMBBELLS" and if anybody knows if u eat junk with muscles does ur muscles turn to fat or do u lose them or does fat just not do anything to ur muscles

  • man, whenever i lift with my left arm it's far less

then what i do with my right arm..sometimes I swear it

is my triceps..could this be the case?..

what should I do to gain more strength in my left arm?

i'll be lifting 50 with my right arm (dumb bells) and literally 30 with the other thats how much of a difference..could it be triceps/shoulders?..

    any help will be aprreciated..thanks

  • to much wanking lol joking do you play football? if you throw with ur right arm it would make it stronger

  • lol its the same with me.

But Im right handed, I do everything with my right arm so its only natural that my right is stronger then my left.

Its prob the same with you. Im still trying to figure out how to even them out...rofl

  • daseisenkreuzkrieger or whatever your stupid ass german name is, you apparently have never worked out hard or at all if you say he isnt breathing right. Anyone training with intensity is gonna make some weird grunting noises especially on those last reps. So learn what your talking about before you say some stupid shit like that you fucking amateur.

  • mate .. those 21's are killlers !!

is it possible to do this without an ez grip bar?

  • hey man, i tried this workout yesterday, and i only did the biceps part, KILLER, will this be ok? to do as a workout for biceps without the other tricep things, i put alot of focus on my bench, trying for 405, im at 385 right now, but i dont wanna weaken my tris for my bench day, would that be an ok bicep workout?

  • nice backyard, and tips!

  • this is really good

ive been tryin this for ...only 3 weeks

    but i can feel it

  • thanks man u r great

  • dude! that is intense! but i guess its the only way

  • can u make a training video for beginners??

  • very nice video! i work out watching this all the time :D hey but i always wondered how i can do warm up exercises for biceps and triceps before i work out. i would apreciate it if you could make a video for that. thanks and keep up the good work!!

  • Awesome work out. I can only ever bring myself to go through it 4 times though. Is it worth it to lower the weight to finish out the last 2?

  • Could you just tell me the difference between high weight low rep and low weight with high rep, thanks

  • lol the groaning,,..........:'*

  • good workout, It'll help me lift that much hopefully.

  • god i really dislike haters online thinking they noe it all and better than every one else. i dont believe it till i see it. this dude here have a great body for a 47 years old guy. so shut up either that put a vid of ur self.

  • Thats not a nice body ... and it sounds more like a porn.

  • This was the toughest arm workout I've ever done. After I finished my eyes were very bloodshot.

  • scooby.. how much u weigh?.. how tall are u?

  • yea dis guys gud.. but the only thing is that he doesnt breath right wen hes working out..

  • does it really matter? look at this guy... hes ripped.

  • yes it matters..its a very important park of working out.. this guys mainly muscle with little strength

  • Aaaaghh! lol

  • 5 x 45 you mean repeating the cycle 5 times until you reach 45 min ?

  • when you talk about 5 X 45 you mean repeating all the exercises cycle 5 times until you reach

    45 min?

  • well ofcourse if its 10% heavier then usual its gone be a killer lol

  • the 21 exercise kills me : )

  • hey i used to train my triceps doing dips! but my chest started hurting after a while. theres a funny(non painful but uncomfortable) and i have to do chest expansions and smth goes pop in my chest. so yea. hard to describe. i stopped doing them and its all better now. so shld i stop? or is it just cause i dont have the correct form. thanks!

  • I get that in my shoulder from having lifted too much weight in my past and without warming up. I'm not sure if that applies to you and have not done these exercises yet.

  • haha time for some good rest,,WRONG!!! hahaha thats how i train my friend,,oh youre sore huh,,do 50 more pushups punk!!! lol

  • thats a 35 pound dumb-bell right?

  • if thats a 35 pound that guys fuckin weak

  • yes you can tell that by looking at his arms and his chest wich are probably 2 times bigger then yours (no offence)

  • hi im only 12 years old and i ve been doing dumbell curls for like 1.5 month and my biceps are a little bigger and stronger but what i need is a workout routine using only dumbells for every single part of my body but i dont really need lower body( cant lift heavyweights it will stunt mty grwoth) so pls reply

  • part 1 of my comment:

hey, you're only 12 years old!you can not develop big muscles YET,and do you know why?your body is still too young, you havent got enough testosterone,YET. testosterone is a hormone, produced by your testicles.

  • part 2 of my comment:

testosterone makes male human beings what they are like: wider shoulders, bigger muscles than females, stronger bones, thicker skin, stronger growth, beard growth and alot of other things.BUT your testosterone production is not active enough, YET, that's why you aint got no beard (YET).

all you have to do is: wait, til you get like 14-15 and then you can try again.

dont worry about your muscles til then, just dont get obese, alright kid? ;)

    greetings from switzerland

  • thanx

  • badblueboy213 i am 13 and must have testosterone because i have had a beard since 10-11 so of cource i shave,

my right arm muscle i ok i gess if u put up a video of it will peeps tell me if its ok

  • do eat eat a good amount of protein,,testosterone helps build muscle but its not a sole factor,,,eat good sources of protein and amino acids and do you work on your biceps everyday? if you do STOP you need 2-3 maybe 4 days to let your muscles grow,,they dont grow when your working out they grow in the days following so diet and rest is key bro. but you are young to develope HUGE muscles,,but i can guarantee progress if you do this.

  • omg!!! that guy is so hot, anyone like sex?

  • hey thx for the video i really need some help.. i have been doing gym from home for 3 weeks now..iam 26 years old male.. iam 6 ft and i weight 150 Lbs ...iam kinda worried i think iam too thin ...do u have any advice for me plz i need ur help thank you

  • Well eat a lot of food eat a lot of protein and lift heavy.

  • now for a well deserved rest..WRONG! xD this guy helped me so much =]

  • lol do as i say not as i do SO WHAT DOESNT MATTER LOOK AT YOU YOUR A FREAKIN BEAST!

  • im 14 about to turn 15 and i was wondering if my bicep workout is effective.

i start with 10, 60lb bar curls and then super set it with 5 30lb curls on each arm. i do this all 2 more times. then after doing my chest, shoulder and tricep exercises i come back and do it 3 more times

  • you sure you should do this at this age maybe you should wait till your body is fully grown i can get light stuff but this is INTENSE xD!!!!!

  • well if im goina have a sick body when i get older im goina need a head start

  • Hej,

I tried your workout today and it was great, but I made it only 4 times(entirely exhausted after the fourth repeat :>). Should I reduce weight to make it 5 times?

    thx a lot

  • I'd bve interested to see some leg workouts. I guess they're the most BORING --but they're really important!

*I like it when you say you are wrong on your videos by the way.

  • Im 6'4, 195 lbs and ive gotten a lot stronger lately doing pretty much what you just did and im lifting 255 on bench and curling 55's but im noticing that im a lil bigger and a lot more cut but how do i gain the mass without sacrificing being cut? What should i focus on since i normally have more of a leaner build? Anything you recommend eating or taking supplement-wise?

  • Read somewhere that you do your heavy sets, say 3 sets of 8 (rest in between)... then one set really lite say 1/4 the original weight (with almost no rest). So you build the bulk but burn/ shrink it after.

    I could be wrong.

  • i heard that to but its to get a easy "pump"

  • All you need is good nutrition, that is, 5-6 small well balanced meals a day each with 15-30g protein. Eat well and your muscle gain will be maximized without adding a gram of fat.

  • You should be a Chippendale! But what about leg excercises, could you show us some of those?

  • If you promise to watch my "complete workout video" and send a link to ALL your friends, I will make one this fall :)

I have tried leg videos in the past but they have just gathered dust as nobody seems interested in them so I removed them. I thought that it was me and the vids were sucky but I think people just dont care about legs. Maybe Scooby needs to put his drill sargent hat on and do some yelling :)

  • honestly man... your jacked lol but jus wanted to say that ive seen alot of your videos and you have greatly helped me achieve the results i have been looking for.. thanks for all the help!

  • how often should i do this. im only 16. is 3 times a week good enough or am i overworking

  • If you are 15, I dont think you should be doing this workout at all :( Having said that, nobody should be doing a workout of this intensity more than once a week. Any more often than that is overtraining and it will diminish your results.

  • thanks scooby. ill try something a little less intense than. maybe just some hammer curls and dumbels curs along with some one arm kickbacks

  • Im sorry about the stuff i said that was negative about your videos you really do know what youre talking about good advice.

  • scooby im 14 and i do this and others like claf raises leg press bench press squates if hes 15 he should not do alot of weight but do small amount but lots of them but yeah only 1 a week sounds right this makes sore for awhile

  • crazy face

  • well when im done with what im doing with my time i think ill buy some training stuff and start trying those things out, you do get fine and cool result when the time comes

  • holy crap five times..lol..id be dieing...i just started my sophmore year high school weight training class and i dont think id be able to do those til i been working out for atleast a month or two.

  • I am 6', 130lbs, 5% body fat & have been liftin weights consistently for 2 years. In that time I have not gained ANY weight at all.But I have moved up a lot of weight on all my exercises. For instance, I started out w/ 85lbs on the bench press& I can now do 5 sets 10 reps of 185. I dont use any of that protein stuff bcuz I dont kno anything about nutrition& it is expensive & nasty.I dont watch what I eat but I wouldnt say I am unhealthy. How much do you think I can progress w/o gainin any weight?

  • They say that "mass follows strength", or some trite saying like that :) In the meantime at your low bodyfat and high strength, there are many sports where you would kick butt - wrestling, rock climbing, martial arts, etc. I'd say you are a success story!

  • Scooby your the best, anyways, i have these joint problems on my left wrist i have no idea why. And it wont go away, im starting to think its arthritis pain. Or maybe push ups. Do you have any ideas? If you do please message or comment me back! Ty

  • I would definitely see a doctor and figure out what is going on. As far as weights, I would either stop entirely and let it heal or drastically reduce the weight you are using and do ultra-high rep/low weight. Other thing you can do is ONLY use dumbbells and no long bars. The dumbbells let your wrists rotate to the most comfortable position. Particularly bad for many peoples wrists is doing curls with a straight barbell - an ez-curl bar is better, and dumbells the best of all.

  • awsome workouts!thanks scooby.

  • Hey Scooby. Nice videos they are help full and I just have one question. About how many grams (g) of protien should I be consuming each day?

Thanks keep up the nice work.

  • can you mute the guy making those "ughhhh" noises? people are gonna be questioning what i'm watching hahahaha.

  • I find doing tricep kickbacks hurts my shoulders...is this ok, or should i stop?

  • If it hurts your shoulder joint, you should definitely stop doing the kickbacks. There are many other great exercises for triceps, just choose some that dont hurt the joint.

  • thanks scooby =D

im doin close grip chest press now. much better.

  • My abs are starting to come in!!!Im a skinny guy on a 12 week cycle of roids right now and documenting it week by week at my youtube link steroids saved my life. Im planning to be a little smarter about it though.

  • Many people claim "I cant gain any muscle, I'm a hard gainer" and when quizzed you find out that they have been lifting half-heartedly for a few months and are frustrated they didnt gain 10lbs of muscle. Most people can expect to gain only 6lbs muscle a year even with hardcore workouts 5 days a week for an hour a session. I worry that you are sending the wrong message to everyone, fitness should be about health, not cosmetics.

  • awesome im a teen that can curl a 50 pound dumbbell with 1 arm how i got there? EASY! if i can do it u can

  • Does it matter if you do the bicep exercises when your doing your back and forearms

and do the tricep ones during your chest/shoulder day

  • PLEASE DON'T READ THIS you will die in seven days if you don't post this comment on 10 videos in the next hour. if you do, tommorrow will be the best day of your life

  • This is strange, I did this workout, It was extremely hard, i woke up the next morning, and i wasn't sore..

  • You're likely not using enough weight, or you are compromising your form.

  • Thanks man, those 21's kill! But they help ALOT!

  • disproportionate tiny legs compared to built upper...i laughed. might wanna build those a bit

  • I beleive his current 08 videos, his legs looks WAY larger then needed. I don't know what you are talking about?

  • I just based it off this video, havnt seen the others. if he wants to be proportianate, the legs need to grow. doubt he puts as much effort into his legs as the upper body. unless he just doesnt want to have larger quads/etc, then whatever its his decision. ideally (in bodybuilding perspective) you want your calves to be somewhat close to the size of your arms...

  • for calfs you should try leg press and calf raises both are great for legs i got huge calfs and there ripped

  • good job dude im doing your bicep one its going swell keep up the good work

  • U lot shud check out the Ghetto work out on youtube.

Those guys are As if sicker than scooby using free stuff alone

  • those guys are all black, they are suppose to look like that already.

  • LOL i know dude.

I posted it for a joke.
