Your car looks nice and you have some very nice parts! I am considering getting the T1R intake system, do you have flashpro running with it? I saw your review and saw the problems you listed, would flashpro fix it?
@590221010 I'm running with Flashpro--it helps it some, but I think the biggest gain/benefit I saw was smoothening out the intake and overhauling it. If I were to do it over again, I'd buy an M&M scoop (like the scoop on T1R but better quality), get a HPS intake tube and gut/smoothen the stock intake.
@sugasugaki Lol too late! I already pulled the trigger because I thought it was a pretty good deal (bought used) and didn't want lose it to someone else. But with how much work and time you said is needed to sand it down I don't know if I can do the same :(, what map are you running with flashpro? I read that there isn't one for this intake.
@590221010 Lol, well I do love the intake (after putting a lot of work into it =P) . Even just sanding it with 800-1500 grit improves it imo, it's just so rough inside the scoop and the box. I have threads on the 8thcivic forum of how I overhauled the intake pieces.
@sugasugaki yeah i saw your threads, i also have minimal sanding experience (jr high lol, and even then it was just dry sanding wood). after sanding it is painting it extra or does it make it help with the smoothness as well? if i do run it without sanding, what base map would you recommend for flashpro?
@590221010 I had very little experience--if you're just lightly sanding with high grit it should be fine. Painting I did only for looks. As for base map, depends on your setup. Since I have a I/H/E, none of the setups worked well for me. Think I did Injen CAI and DC racing header, but it was rich as heck.
@sugasugaki oh ok thanks, i'm expecting the intake next week and i am gonna try sanding it a bit i'll probably pm you on 8thcivic as well with some questions if you don't mind. also, how long did you run this intake without flashpro? i read some comments that after a couple weeks people were getting check engine lights because it was running so lean.
1:09 too bad i wasnt there to steal your camara... lols
