Japanese prisoner of war camps were far more brutal and the guards were far more ruthless than the internment camps in America. The death rate for the average allied POW was nearly 30%, and the death rate for a Chinese soldier captured by Japan was nearly at 100% (of the 270'000 Chinese soldiers captured by Japan, only 56 survived World War 2). My point? The people sent to the American internment camps should consider themselves lucky that the American camps were nothing like the Japanese camps.

It was about how the American government reacted on a fear factor and locked up all the Japanese American citizens on the west coast. No. This is about an injustice done by the American Government during WW2. They weren't 'lucky'.

Japanese prisoner of war camps were far more brutal and the guards were far more ruthless than the internment camps in America. The death rate for the average allied POW was nearly 30%, and the death rate for a Chinese soldier captured by Japan was nearly at 100% (of the 270'000 Chinese soldiers captured by Japan, only 56 survived World War 2). My point? The people sent to the American internment camps should consider themselves lucky that the American camps were nothing like the Japanese camps.

It was about how the American government reacted on a fear factor and locked up all the Japanese American citizens on the west coast. They spent 1942-1945 in camps because of the fear they might help Japan, even if they were citizens. Did we do this to the Germans? The Italians? The Russians during the Cold War? No. This is about an injustice done by the American Government during WW2. They weren't 'lucky'.
