  • Russian dolls made by Indians for an American entertainment company. Welcome to the world.

  • using this production method you could as well ordered them from China

  • I have a few Matryoshkas all of mine are handpainted.

  • i have really realy old ones from the 30s still in mint condition. I lovethem so much they are sooo cute. My mom gotthem as a gift as a girl from a russian friend of hers.

  • I want a set of Matreshka so bad but I don't want to buy them online. I want a special set from Russia. :(

  • There are new Russian dolls in the shops now that talk. You pull a string and so do they in talking bribes!

  • aww that is cool

  • This is mass production of a cheap type of doll - where images are printed/glued and not handpainted. These are not the methods for which collectible dolls are made, which are handpainted in excrutiating detail. I have seen handpainted dolls made. Much different process.

  • Exactly, as the goal was to meet the schedule and the budget. Moreover, Discovery Channel's characters handpainted in excrutiating details would look strange.

  • Yuck. The tackiest, ugliest Matryoshkas I have ever seen. Mass production of something as unique and beautiful as a Matryoshka should be considered a crime!

  • Very interesting to know how Russian nesting are made in production. Should I say insightful?
