The only time she "Dies" is when the mansion explodes.

I like this.It seems to me that as a true resident evil fan, you can tell that there wasnt enough attention directed towards the details of the entire storyline until recently when it blew up and got more attention.The remake on the Wii has been, to date, my favorite version of the game to play.Lisa Trevor is my 2nd favorite(unintentional) bad guy next to Wesker in the entire story.Nice job on this I really like it.

@stackattackwildcat Okay basically she's one of the first test subjects used by Albert Wesker and William Birkin to test out the T-Virus (her and her mother). Her mother died from the experiments, but Lisa survived. She was then given the NEMESIS parasite (the virius that ultimately created the Nemesis creature in Resident Evil 3) and somehow after she survived injection of that, a new virus was created within her; the G-Virus.

She was a poor and innocent child that was robbed of her mother and because she didn't know about her mother's death at the hands of the virus she spent many years trying to find her. Her whole goal in RE1 is to look for her mother and kill all that stand in her way

Thanks to Jill and Barry, she learned of her mother's true fate and tried to commit suicide to be with her. Ultimately she survived and then Albert Wesker the very man that experiemented on her killed her off for good in his escape from the mansion only mere seconds away from self destruction. spencer ordered lisa's father murdered because he was the one who designed the Arklay mansion so they couldnt risk him talking. lisa's mother was used as a test subject but died instantly. lisa was tested on by birken, wesker and james marcus (before he too was murdered by wesker) both birkin and wesker were young at the time but the test data birkin gathered from lisa gave him enough to strike out on his own and create the g-virus.

this left the problem of what to do with Lisa, they had unwittingly made her immortal so they locked her away in the tunnels deep beneath the mansion where she could be of no trouble (especially since she had the annoying compulsion to rip people's faces off and wear them). lisa spent the next few decades searching for her mother and when she found her body lisa lept into a deep chasm where she still survives but cannot escape. a very sad tale in all.

I know that Birkin and Wesker also tested Lisa, but that was years later before she was given the first shot of the virus. My point is that is all started basically with Spencer, since he's one of the founders of Umbrella Inc. (but we know that it all started with the Ashford family decades ago before Spencer).

It's also a little strange in RE Remake that Lisa actually in her diary knows the location of her mother's body (due to the scent), but couldn't because of the 4 stones. She was so strong and still had some intelligent, that it's a little bit odd that she didn't know how to open the coffin where her mother was.

it all started with Oswell spencer, james marcus and alexander ashford. they were the three who began the research into viral weaponry. but spencer was just using marcus and ashford as pawns for his own goals as RE5 explains. but i agree with you about the coffin, perhaps even though lisa's body has aged her mind had remained as it was before she was tested on and so was mature enough to understand how to get to the coffin. either that or it was a slip up but the game designers.
