  • @vnebra BOTH !!!!!!!!!

  • Pedo bear was but a cub in the 60s. tap that azz neil

  • I was never a big Neil Diamond fan although he is an outstanding singer, song writer and artist--just not typically MY "type" of music. I however think this old "original" and classic was one of his all time best (my opinion) Maybe it was just the times or the memories of the times this song invokes??

  • Pulp Fiction's version is by Urge Overkill.

  • pulp fiction brought me here

  • i love Neil Diamond

  • i'm ready to become a woman.....oops i'm a guy

  • 6 people think there the perfect man lmao how could you dislike this seriously???????

  • thats kind of gross him thinking of teenage girls while singing this lol

  • @edenova You're gross for hoping that he's thinking sexually.

  • @edenova Taking into account he was only a "young" 25 yr. old guy (I was 15) when he wrote and sang this song in 1966, I could see it being addressed to his younger teen girl fans at the time. Things then weren't as they are now --nor was the "context". Great times and memories.

  • Like a kilidioscope is a women,s heart.

  • bob dylan and Neil Diamond are the best song writers of there generation

  • @Lazylewo well you little pussy dont put info we dont give a shit about

  • what an idiot to say he likes the pulp fiction version, its the same song but the guy cant sing as good as neil! plus he didn't write it. guess who it was written by NEIL DIAMOND so yeah im going to stick to the original ya jackass.

  • This is my favorite version, though Urge Overkill's version is great also.

  • Is this one of the coolest songs ever or what?

  • Neil Diamond was inducted to the Rock N Roll Hall Of Fame!!!!!

  • they are both great versions but Urge Overkill did a cover of a classic without getting dissed, and that itself is a great accomplishment.

  • If your older you love this:)

  • 5 people are oblivious

  • @angeluvmwah What a sad tale. Did you ever tell your parents are nobody? They lock up drug users for up to 25 years but they let rapists and murders out on the streets.

  • There's also an acoustic version from "Hot Summer Night" - find it!!

  • woooooooooooooo

  • se sale!! a pesar de que te gusten otros estilos de música, nunca pasara de moda.

  • "Girl, you'll be a woman soon." - Words you should say before you take away the girl you're sleeping with's virginity.

  • I love this of Neil Diamond..... They played this in a wedding in "Upside of Anger" starring Kevin Costner. After the movie was over I downloaded it into my favorites..... I play it over 'n over, enjoying it soooo much!

  • It's interesting how 40 years later, a Swedish rock group by the name of KLEERUP uses this same melody in their song called, "Looking for Lullabies" Check it out on Youtube!

  • @EasternMerchant you can tell better in the remix, and you're comletly right about that, it's the same melody.

PS: It's Longing for Lullabies, not Looking for Lullabies.

  • best version never gets old! I still sway since I was diapered, to this song.... love u Neil Diamond.

  • Sept, 5th 1972...the first day we met. (our first kiss)..I fell in love with you then, dedicated this song to you then, you were mad. some 35 yrs later....I still love you....

  • i love this song...so muchhhh..........

  • Neil Diamond!!! the best and will always be only the best =D

  • Great song, that many people have covered. I love the visuals!

  • like this version the best , think the song unfolds better .

  • good but i prefer the pulp fiction version

  • @EddyRainbow

Can it be found on youtube? As in song only?

  • @EddyRainbow Retarded. This is the original thought, emotion, and feeling that brought this song life. This man gave birth to this song. Rediculous to say, "I like the other one". There is no cover song that is EVER better than the original, period. The song becomes a different song when someone else plays it and sings it.

  • @investmjr I know its the original but what you dont seem to understand is some originals arnt as good as the covers. Are you trying to tell me that Bob Dylans All along the watchtower is better than Jimi Hendrix;s version, its not PERIOD. That was an incredible statement to make by the way and i do have 10 thumbs up lol so ur the retard.

  • @EddyRainbow The cover is "better"? OK. Better possibly if you don't respect artistic ability or the inspiration for the song. It's like me telling you a story of my past, and someone here's the story and repeats it to someone else . The person that repeats the story isn't creating anything, so there is no way it's "better".? You can't even use a scale like that to rate an artists' work. Without the original artist, there IS NO cover to begin with.

  • @investmjr The talent always lies with the writer but the interpretation of the song can be better in some people's opinion on a cover. This can be as simple as the original being a rushed recording - songs are sometimes reworked by the original artist before becoming a great song. Also there were plenty of writers who wrote songs for Sinatra, Elvis etc.. are their demos better than the recordings? Is Neil's demo for I'm a believer better, or is the monkees cos it's the original recording?

  • @MrModDog I guess it depends on the definition of "better". If "better" means playing it cleaner or technically better, possibly. For me, like I said, the song itself is a creation in and of itself. It's the structure, the chorus, the lyrics, and the supposed "flaws" that make the song. I've never once in my life heard a cover that I thought was better. I hate hearing other people sing someone else stuff. It just reminds me that the original was, well, the original.

  • @investmjr I have to say the original version is nearly always the better version, but it is possible for someone to conceive a song and not have the ability to present it in the way they want. For instance I have a song that would sound much better sung by someone like the artist Duffy, she has the voice for it, I don't. Her cover version would possibly do better justice to the song I've written. I think Dylan prefered Hendrix's "all along the watchtower" cover He should know right?

  • @MrModDog I could agree that some songs may sound better performed by another artist or another artists' take on it may be more catchy. I take issue with someone saying that the cover IS bettter. Nothing wrong with liking a cover of a song better than the original, but to say that it's "better" is absurd IMO. No artist would ever suggest that about a song he covers. For instance, I like STP, but I'd neve rsay they were "better" than Led Zeplin. Without Led Zeplin there is no STP.

  • @investmjr I see what you're saying. Yeah a lot of times people disrespect the original artist, as if they are crap because they think someone covered it better. But 99% of why the song is good is always there in the original. So even if you prefer a cover the original writer is the one who made the song great, someone may have added to that but most of the work was done by the original guy. There are very few cover versions that I think add something to the original, but there are one or 2.

  • @EddyRainbow "Some originals aren't as good as the covers". That may be the stupidest statement I've ever heard in my entire life. Maybe you like the sound of the cover better, but a song is about a hell of a lot more than just the vocals and guitar. It's the lyrics, the phrasing, the chord progression, the melody, harmonies, etc. Duuuuh, but the cover is better than the original. It's the SAME f'ing thing idiot, it's just performed by a different person.

  • @investmjr Lets not fall out now mate. Music is about happiness and bringing people together. I must admit there are only say 10 covers i think are better but yeah originals are what they are. Love neil Diamond who has had an awful lot of people copying his songs like UB40, Monkeys, urge overkill. The main thing is you are entitled to your opinion. Peace!!!

  • @EddyRainbow You are right, and those are good points. Peace!

  • @investmjr To be honest I think Neil's version is much better, but how is it retarded to prefer another version? You can't have an opinion on music based on what you think sounds better or moves you more? Suppose you heard 2 versions of a song and didn't know which one was the original, should you have to find out which one is before daring to decide which one you like more? Song writing and performance are two seperate things. I've written songs and had other people sing my songs better than me

  • @MrModDog I went a little overboard there. But my point is that a song (or anything) can only be created once. There is no "better" version. The song is an extension of the person that wrote it. Everything about the song from the way it's played, the way the words are ennunciated, chords are strummed, is something created by THAT person. Anyone that comes along afterwards is just copying. Nothing more, nothing less. Hence the term "cover". That's my opinion it it.

  • @investmjr I understand your point, I guess I'm sayin the most important thing is the original process of writing a song. After that, a song can be played in many different ways. I remember listening to demos of the beatles trying songs in different time signatures. To some people a certain version will effect them more, maybe 2 versions by the same artist even (a live version maybe) all any later version is doing is standing on the shoulders of giants, the credit still lies with the writer

  • @EddyRainbow

I respect your opinion but respectfully disagree :)

  • @EddyRainbow definitely

  • Such a lovely song. It speaks to every woman. Thank you.

  • neil diamond is a great song writter hes kije bowie hes wrote many songs for other people n not took credit for great singer song writer x

  • lovely

  • heard this song in quentin taratino´s pulp fiction great song

  • is this the same version?

or is there a cover in pulp fiction?!

  • I prefer the version in pulp fiction, of urge overkill

  • Never been a huge Neil Diamond fan, but I think (opinion) 'this' and Solitary Man are two of his absolute best songs. As old as this song is, I still remeber it from my much younger years--- really liked it from it's first release and still do. Thanx for posting.

  • Beautiful song

  • THIS IS A GOOD SONG

  • oohh!! this is the original version right?

  • Yes it is.

  • @alfok no its not

the real one is very slow and laid back

  • @MrISLANDCHEF9 Thanks for making me think about that, you are right the original can be found on the 'In My Lifetime' album. It is from the Bang single 542, recorded in 1967 (mono). It is 2:54 long. However this one from 'Classics: The Early Years' is the more laid back version. I think that maybe the one you are thinking of is from 'Hot August Night' from 1972. It too is 2:54 and it is very laid back. They are all real.

  • @alfok yes

  • I Love this song :)

  • awsome video!!~!

  • This one is so different and so pretty. Great song also.

  • Thanks
