  • tyres and breaks? lets see, fuel, people to make it worthwhile, food, water, a sh*thole, and some diapers for when you have thes "i just SH*T myself moments...

  • If the car is getting side ways out of the corners don't blame your lap time on the breaks. (if you even were blaming, but that's the way I took it) Your having a definite foot and pedal problem. You could though sight the tire and weight of your rear end as complicating struggles, but not the problem.

Also, your car isn't mid-engined. Nice car any ways. I'm sure it's scary fast for a truck.

  • I had Wilwood brakes all around on my '70 El Camino with a Wilwood master cylinder and a Hydroboost. I ran it hard on the road course and never had a problem. They worked beautifully.

  • isnt this that car that was build by that hot rod shop @ Discovery where they looked for a new employee?

  • this is not a mid engine el camino, it just has the engine setback, i did the same thing on my 74 elcamino, so it's not that unique, although it is a very nice car and looks well done.

  • @wwbjr1960 It is a mid-engine Camino! look up the defenition of a mid-engined car.

Mid-engine means (this might come as a shock to you) the Engine is in the mid of the car. so it means the engine is behid the frontaxle(@ 1:21 ) & in front of the rearaxle.

so you might see that a Porsche 4 xample 911 aint a mid-engined car!

I agree that its a nice car and it looks well done.

  • @Sj1bby so that means all corvettes and my el camino is a mid engine car just because i set the motor back behind the front axle centerline?no its not a true mid engine car, i don't care what a dictionary says. in a mid engine car the engine is behind the driver, the porsche is a rear engine car mounted to a transaxle

  • @wwbjr1960 Yes all vettes and you camino are mid engined, but you should know there is a difference betweeen Front and rear mid engined... (but you probbebly know that since your 49 years on this planet!!!

I see you starting to understand the concept or rear-engined and mid engined!

    Always keep learning!

  • I was getting my mail this afternoon when I herd some serious machinery coming around the bend. It was this creation. I live in Los Gatos, CA and see a lot of exotics but this just sounded awesome. Very unique car. Hopefully I see it again.

  • Looks like your running Baer Brake System. Did you figure out what was wrong with the brakes? I too am getting my 70' El Camino setup for the big track. Thanks for any info.
