Very Happy USC Lost....but not hard to decide which was bigger upset. division 1-AA vs. #5 Michigan? or Stanford vs. #1 USC? Pretty clear, App. State's win was more embarrassing for Michigan and a bigger upset...

I went to high school with Tavita and his younger sister and younger brother.

i bet the loss to texas for the championship was a bit worse for them. they were actually playing for something in that game, and they didnt' get it.

Humiliatintg, yes. Nevertheless, the Trojans learned that they need to take every opponent seriously. It also taught Carroll to be far less cocky about his squads.

Hopefully, they'll take those lessons into 2008 and finish on top.

In 2009, Oregon State taught USC not to be cocky about how unbeatable they are as a result of the humbleness they gained from a hilarious loss the preceding season.

...it just taught Carroll to buy better QBs.

Actually the year was 2008 and QB wasn't the reason why USC lost that game. Sanchez played fine. Defense (preferably run defense) was the reason USC lost
