  • One last video. One last video. One last video...

  • I voted for KODOS!

  • needs more narwhals

  • 2 questions that sort of popped into my mind at random while watching this video: 1. Do you think you can explain the Agricultural Expansion/Industrial Revolution as it boomed in the early 1820's and people lived in dirty cities and threw their feces out of their windows while attracting raccoons, rats, small mice, gerbils, and other tiny disease carrying rodents? And 2. What video editing program do you use?

  • @hudacheck *1920s

  • In other words, our votes arent worth shit for electing a nominee

  • what

  • I love your videos btw Im 15 give my generation SOME hope

  • i have a question. say one state holds both a caucus and a primary, but each result in a different candidate winning that electoral process... who wins the state?

  • Holy crap. You sir have just explained to me what my couple years of Social Studies classes have attempted to tell me in a little over five minutes. Please, become a Super teacher, meet up with the other teachers and kick their asses.

    Thank you.

  • eeew Politics.

  • wtf...is there a "Primary Elections Explained for Dummies" ?? -.-'

  • Lol, and people wonder why Americans don't understand there own government. Its FUBAR. (F@#ked Up Beyond All Repair/Recognition.)

  • Committee on the Situation with regard to the implementation of the Declaration on the Granting of Independence to colonial Countries and Peoples to find a peaceful solution to the problem, with due regard to the provisions and objectives of the UN Charter and Resolution 1514 (XV) of the General Assembly, and the interests of the population Malvinas Islands (Falkland Islands);

  • Noting the existence of a dispute between the Governments of Argentina and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland concerning sovereignty over these islands, 1. Invites the Governments of Argentina and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to pursue without delay the negotiations recommended by the Ad Hoc

  • It must be a huge pain making subtitles for each one of your main videos only to have them ignored by about 90% of your viewers.

  • Please tell me you actually play WoW. Please?

  • it was hard to understand but it sounds to me like the people of america have no say in who will be running for president

  • "Great minds discuss ideas. Average minds discuss events. Small minds discuss people." - Elanor Roosevelt

  • I love how you put capes on the super delegates

    LOL

  • This is why Ron Paul is gonna win!!

  • @HybrisRadio .....absolutely no primaries

  • wow I don't see any posobilities of corruption in that system, wink wink

  • He forgot complication #6, money/blackmail/puppeteers

  • This made the seventh of your (incredibly well-explained) political videos that I watched, and you know what I learned? As a voter, I will never, ever be happy with the person who is elected.

  • @sbarwood926 You might be, if we change our system of voting from "first past the post" to something else.

  • Ron Paul 2012

  • does anyone know the name of the song used in the background? any help would be great! thanks!

  • C++ Programs in your video. Awesome.

  • Super Delegates are exclusive to the Democratic party I do believe.

  • @CometxNova Wrong. The Republican Party also has super delegates.

  • difficult, our election is so much easier , go bouterse

  • i have to watch this in mr peeks stupid class. he sucks!

  • @KakaAdidas Give your teacher a break, kid.

  • @CGPGrey Hey, we're not -all- that whiny..

  • @CGPGrey i wish my teachers would play your videos... they learn me betterer

  • mind = blown.

  • LOL i was lost within the first minute

  • Stand up in a long line, cast a vote and end up represent by Delegates and Super Delegates who make final decision.

  • Hey...what's that in the air?

    Is it a bird...

    a plane...?

    ITS SUPER DELEGATE!!!

Choosing whoever they want...screw the consequences (and you too!!!!)

  • Wasn't Teddy Roosevelt one of the only truly independent candidate to obtain the presidency?

  • @taburde Theodore Roosevelt was elected in 1904 on the Republican ticket. He ran again in 1912 as a member of the Progressive Party and lost to Woodrow Wilson. George Washington was not associated with any political party. John Adams was a Federalist. Every other president has been either a Democrat, a Republican, a Whig, or a Democratic-Republican. However, six months after he took office, John Tyler was expelled from the Whig Party, for not conforming to their agenda.

  • 2:00

  • About having to be 18 to vote isn't totally correct. I'm 17, but get to vote in the primaries because I will be 18 by the election.

  • @SP3IILuke ...But you have to be 18 to vote for the election, amiright?

  • Yay, Guam is in this video...downside, we still can't vote for our "President". O___O

  • Make the system convoluted enough and "The Party" can ensure who they want to win wins. Now please excuse me I think "The Ministry of Love" is at my door.

  • ... The voting system is not complicated and it's surprising to see all of the people here who disagree.

  • whoa... what a fucked up system...

  • America am stupid.

  • So, essentially, the people in power get to decide who gets to be in power. Seems fair.

  • Pause at 0:35 at the picture of the line-up.

    CREEPER IN DA BACK!!

  • Press 1 and it sounds like "razor dislikes standard elections"

  • RON PAUL 2012!

  • @harryinitiative ha can't win don't jizz your self.

  • thanks for the video :)

  • i now understand the complicated bull that the government has come up with to "elect" the next president. and we didnt learn any of this crap in my government class

  • CREEPER! 0:36

  • Wow, good job America. Good job. Also, any able to identify the music? Good stuff I reckon, and I'd like to hear more!

  • LIKE IF YOU ARE WATCHING IN 2012!

  • :milk:

  • Sooo stupid

  • The united states political system is soooooo stupid!!

  • @IWantSoundKnowledge I agree, and I live in America.

  • well this country is retarded

  • CGPGrey 2016

  • caucuses sound like some medieval era voting system

  • U are missing American Samoa in your places where American Citizens can't vote. Even, if the American Samoans are only nationals; any American Citizen that happens to live there will be unable to vote. This also applies to your video about the Electoral College. Great videos by the way, never miss one. Thx

  • 4:02 National "Convetion"? --> National Convention

  • ron paul 2012

  • fake democracy

  • Parties of America makes easy things complex... such idiots :/

  • It feels like this election is more insane that any other before. Is that true?

  • Well, we could get the independent votes to win, if enough of us just fill in same candidate ... and enough of those fed up with the bipartisan system stop voting based on party.

  • haha tongue twisters

  • So in spite of what everyone tells you our votes don't really matter??? ... Im kinda confused.. on the whole delegate ignoring our votes part.

  • uk politics is so much more simple...

  • i donno about you but this doesn't seem very democratic or republican (no not the party, the type of government)

  • If anyone thinks that their vote means anything more than a steaming pile of dogshit, after watching this video, they deserve to be mistreated so badly by the US government.

  • Primary Elections Explained = P.E.E.

    teehee

  • I just lie and say I'm a part of party x and they let me vote. I'm an independent though and it's not like anyone has a huge ledger of what party people are in.

It's times like this though that I consider not voting.

  • To summarize. Your vote means shit.

  • im only 13 and i voted. im such a badass.

  • thumbs up if you're not from Iowa, New Hampshire, don't give a crap about either of them, and didn't understand this video at all cuz you're just too stupid. Yeah, me too.

  • @xDontClickMe yes

  • @xDontClickMe That you have to justify where you're from and ask if you're stupid make you stupid... So, yes.

  • No wonder I never understood this shit.

  • I'm from NH and yes, we do.

  • They think that Iowa is stupid... What do you expect? They are Idiots Out Wandering Around! Great info for the ADD crowd like myself. Now I'm going to go ride a bike....

  • Comment removed

  • Ron Paul 2012

  • Thats fucking stupid

  • This is way to complicated...

  • So many avenues and junctures for corruption, it could never be traced, especially when the entire nation is born into such a system.

US Presidents aren't elected by the people, They're put in place by the corporations. And the public are non the wiser.

  • us independents never have any fun :(

  • But Iowa done got some good derrt!!

  • And they told me my vote counted...

  • All delegates should be required to vote for the citizen, and not freely! What the fuck is this? Oh wait it's politics...

  • Vote Cthulhu 2012!! Why settle for the lesser evil?

  • LOL Us New Hampshireites do think Iowa is stupid - loved that part

  • Your videos make me feel 20% smarter every day!

  • Your channel and MinutePhysics are probably my favorite.

  • so why is this called a democracy?

  • @rocker6883 The US government is not a democracy, it's a democratic republic/constitutional republic. It's majority rule but with laws to protect the rights of the minority. That's why the voting system is complicated.

  • 4 more years!!!

  • Dear American whomever it might concern.

that really don't, sound like equal distribution of votes. Fix

Fix this now, plz we, the world, really would like to talk to you about intervention. :(

  • Dear Citizens of the USA,

Your country is fucked, sort it out or leave planet Earth.

    Sincerely, Humanity.

  • @LomTang With the way our country is going, its not going to be sorted out for a long, long time.

  • So it's just a bunch of BS, thanks :)

  • I hope this guy is as beautiful as his voice.

  • dafuq?

  • Silly Americans.

  • needs more narwhals

  • why do people outside the usa care so much about whats going on here, anybody ever thought about that? like nobody in us gives a crap about whats going on in the uk

  • sounds stupid.......

  • Wow america, just wow....

  • What a huge cluster fuck.

    (-_-)

  • Fun fact:

You can be 17 and vote in the primaries, as long as you're 18 during the general election.

This is what I did back in 2008.

  • wow, you yanks sure know how to waste money.. priamary elections, pfft

  • This is why republics are stupid. I'm ashamed to live here sometimes. >:C

  • VERMIN SUPREME 2012

  • RON PAUL 2012

  • A caucus is like an old fashioned town meeting where anyone who want to come and get involved can have a voice. Sound pretty democratic to me. I've attended a number of these and I learn a lot and sometimes meet the candidates. This is my first step in the process. It's a lot better than just showing up to vote once every four years.

  • Delegates are seldom VIPs. They are regular folks, elected at conventions as the best representative to support a candidate and/or an issue. You can have a 'Candidate X + Save The Dogs sub-caucus' who will send their delegate to the next highest level convention to support both. It's at the conventions where the party platform is put together. It's also where lower level candidates (mayors, senators, governors, etc.) get party endorsements which in some places, can decide an election.

  • Deligates and super deligates? And Americans still think that's a "good" democracy?... Rrrrright XD

  • Democratic and Republican parties have hijacked this process to benefit them only. Super Delegates... pfft!

  • i like canada :)

  • WHY IS IT SO COMPLICATED WHAT IS THE BENEFIT OF THIS

  • that's the only downside?

  • americans are so stupid...

  • Complication #6: Caucuses work differently for different parties. You explained the Iowa Democrats style. Iowa Republicans sit in a room, listen to representatives/supporters of the campaigns and then cast votes. I'm not sure if that same R/D standard holds nationwide though

  • @JordanTessler True enough, but I think this is changing. The GOP used to stay in lock step. Now, they're attacking each other and yelling. The Dems seem to have found a quieter way. That may change, though once it's closer to the election.

  • this system is retarded

  • @ImTheWackhead You call the system retarded. You can't even use punctuation. I'll bet you couldn't follow the video or got bored halfway though. It's a good think you didn't have to read it, because that would have been too hard.

  • @Rugulah1 Just F.Y.I., i can use punctuation perfectly. I watched this video from the start to the end, skipping nothing, fully understanding everything. my honest opinion was that i found the system to be retarded and I wanted to state that in a quick comment. You have no right to judge me on my skills in the English language.

At least you felt really cool when you wrote that: "ha-ha, I just showed this random person! I feel real good about my life."

  • @ImTheWackhead It's not you. It's about the state of the written language from basic usage to style. What passes for journalism and essay on the internet wouldn't pass a middle school English class a few years ago.

Great – you expressed yourself. It's not enough. Next time, make a cogent argument and I'll listen. And as for your comment about how I felt – you are incorrect. It's not about me, either. It's about ideas and ways to express them.

    No hard feelings, I hope.

  • @Rugulah1 totally not dude, have a nice day.

  • Comment removed

  • I love national convetions! (Spot the problem. lol)

  • Caucuses sound totally stupid.
