This is hipster bullshit music. If you want good music that sounds a lot like this, La Dispute is the way to go. Not the fucking tambourine and half-assed distorted guitar effects.
I love every piece of music Oceana has ever put out. Amazing musicians and real people. They have personally touched me more than any other band will ever. I relate to Bren a lot in his lyrics, and it saved me during my teenage years. Can't wait for new stuff.
Oceana is a great fucking band and I just wanted to show you guys my band. We're a fairly new band just playing local shows for now and hoping to have an EP out real soon. If any of you could take the time to listen to my band, that'd mean the world to me. We're just a couple of kids not trying to make it big, just trying to share our love for music with anyone willing to lend an ear.
Oceana is such a huge fucking influence of ours. They're really unique, and they inspired us to stray from the path as well.
If you like them, you will like us. We're getting our releases mixed & mastered by the same awesome dude (Kris Crummett) who did this entire EP of Oceana's. Take two seconds to check out our channel and decide for yourself. You won't regret (we hope so, at least)! Thank you so much for your time!
I honestly think they can make it decently big in the alternative genre, they have what it takes. this is something people could listen to on the radio
@xmega45x respectfully disagree! they were one of the leaders in that over-produced melodic hardcore scene and I loved it at the time but I feel this music style has more musical depth and maturity. It's also more difficult to write.
@have2o4noa Well, I mean, in my OWN opinion, I liked The Tide. I don't really listen to any Oceana anymore, and I'm not a huge fan of the whole indie scene. I'm more into melodic heavy stuff like Means or Misery Signals, but that's just my own taste.
@AnnieHasNoLife personally i love birth eater as well. but i love how this band is unlike any other and no one can say they're bad because you cant stereo type them because they arent just metal or hardcore. they've grasped their minds and talents around multiple genres of music. personally i love how this album sounds. its like a nice relief from some of the heavy music todays artists are producing. and i love how no one trolls Oceana <3 h
@AnnieHasNoLife Oceana currently has a very different line up now then when they made the birth.eater album, so in essence it isn't the band you fell in love with :) they kinda pulled an underoath /:

@AlbusAndHarry It is good, but it does matter because creativity and diversity in a track is nice.

this isn't bad, but i personally think birth.eater. was their best album. this is just completely different. it's not the band i fell in love with.
