@iamtheemighty1 That would be impossible...Mainly because a large majority of my ancestors are mixed..and if I had any african ancestors they are no longer living. slavery itself was africans of different tribes and tongues forced together, whom are no longer living...Totally unrealistic for me.
I so agree....If we could change our "label"??? what should it be?..honestly i have given this thought. Labels are not important i guess, but yet we will be. so it would be nice to have one that is correct. blk represnts all that is bad..look in the dictionary..african was hundreds of years ago american i cannot be...DAMN..
While I usually agree with your video commentaries, I find this one very confusing. Black people refer to white people as "white", not "European American". And obviously white people aren't truly white, just as black people aren't truly black. To me, "black" isn't a slur. The constant categorical name changes that we blacks have undertaken are absurd. At various times, we have referred to ourselves as: "people of color", "colored", "negroes", "black", and now "African Americans". Let's stop it!
I LOVED IT !!!! WELL THOUGHT OF AND WELL DELIVERED. I was born and raised in Africa. I used to get puzzled by the race category " African American" and often asked my self why don't they just call them selves Americans ? did they not earn the right to be called just Americans? but you just opened my eyes and now I totally respect and love the name " African American" embracing both heritages. Thank you!
