after market pickups not wired correctly from Gibson factory? We dont wire after market pickups at Gibson unless you are an endorser. Whoever installed your pickups did not use solder. Not Gibson. Sorry.
@scottycarp1 they were the factory pickups installed with solder but the solder missed...
just like the NEW 58 VOS I fixed today where the factory had cut through the cloth insulation, causing it to short out against the pot ... dont get me wrong Iève seen everyone mess up right from the factory & I love my gibson guitars ...
Wow that is stupid, they really didn't solder that. I have have problems with a pickup too. The guy who installed it charged 1/2 price but cross the ground and lead inside the lead wire a just covered it with tape. Ended up paying $75 to get fixed (somewhere else).
These are great! Could you make a video on how to install pickups. I can't seem to find anything on the web that's easy enough to understand. Normally I'd just wing it but I bought all new electronics for my black SG too and I'd really like to do it right.

The only mod I ever done with my guitar was shield the cover with Copper Foil, and some Copper strips placed in certain areas on the guitar.
