  • THIS LOOK AMAZING, YOU MIND SHARING ME THE CONTACT PERSON WHO BUILD THIS , I AM LIVING HERE MANILA, THANKS AND BLESS YOU

  • wow! this is AMAZING! im going to build one soon, and i just wanted to get a ball point figure on how much it would cost, thank you so much! you really helped me.. just one question. how long did it roughly take to build?

  • @dimoneddancing . This was 5 years ago so I'm sure prices have gone up. It took 3 days

  • @Islandjerry The prices have increased quite a bit. Nipa roofing panels are no where near that cheap anymore. At least in Antique. We grow our own bamboo, so at least that doesn't cost me anything but harvesting labor. We are having one built now for our trip next month. It's still the cheapest way to go.

  • Is it easy to rebuild every few years after a couple typhoons dig into it? I guess the bugs also must be very happy in there eating at them after awhile. My dream = a 40' bluewater boat, a nice slip and a nipa hut!

  • @jazzlover10000 It's extremely easy to rebuild. The one you see in the video is now almost 6 years old and has been through 3 typhoons with no damage what so ever and still has the original nepa leaves

  • Great job! I will bookmark this one.

  • Thats not 250$ man, typical american stereotype

  • @MrTommyRico Since I'm the one that built it I know what I paid and it was $250 "man"

  • Nicely done and thanks for sharing this video. I'm also planning to have one installed on the roof our family house in metro manila. This will cost around 17,000 pesos in cavite so yours is a bargain.

  • very nise i am leurnig survivale skils and its so nise all the things you can do with bamboo and a nife have a fantastick life peace from belgium

  • Glad your enjoying our tradional gazebo style hut. The real nipa hut, we call 'bahay kubo' is quite enclosed and 'livable' made from woven coconut leaves and bamboo materials. The gazebo huts here in Oz are si Pricey which could be thousands of dollars!!! Yours for $250 is a bargain!

  • I'm surprised it's only $250. However, I notice a cement foundation and pillars. Btw, is their plumbing?

  • It is on top of the roof, which is a flat cement roof. Don't know why the 2 pillars were there but I used them to tie into the hut. Cost would have been the same with or without since most huts are built using a dirt floor.

  • Hey IslandJerry, thanks for posting this cool video, Im thinking of building a nipa on some land I own on Bohol...

  • HEy great video. Did the 250$ include labor? Where did you find the help? Any rough plans or sketches if i wanted to do it w/o local workers.

  • $250 all inclusive. No sketches, design as you go along. lol

  • in my Province the bamboo is $2.00 each thats about, I would say 75 to 100 feet..and the labor of the carpenters is about $6.00 a day or less..now if you buid a concrete house ..in my place the hallow blocks is used to be 3.50 pesos each is about 10 blocks for a $1.00 and the bag of cement is used to be about $3.00 or less..that was 2006 when I was there to build my rest house..steal is the one is expensive and the wood..

  • Uncle Willie, I think if I were going to live in the US again I would move to Florida. I had a condo in Indian Rocks Beach and just loved the ocean and watching the boats at play out there. Also the seafood is par non to any other place I've been. Now I'm here in Roxas City which is the seafood capital of the Philippines so we get some pretty good and fresh seafood also.

  • What in the heck am I doing in Florida? Uncle Willie

  • Jerry L, Prelia and I really love your video's. We hope you can make up a blog and link all of your other awesome Philippines video's to it, so other can view your collection. Thanks for sharing. Ken and Prelia Rice www.ricexpats.com
