  • Simply the best of 2 worlds!!

  • I thought about buying a SE Midimoog, but in the end I settled for a Moog Minimoog. it has MIDI now, though. Got the Linntronics mod.

can somebody please post a video of a MIDIMoog (not the MIDIMini).

  • I have a Midimini and a Midimoog and they sound as identical as any two Model D's possibly could.

They both have that raw growl and speaker shattering bass with smooth highs.

If you come across them snap them up as they're are more flexible than the keyboard Model D's.

  • I used to own a Midimini, and have an older board Minimoog now, and they sound totoally different. The Mini is much fatter, raw and "older" sounding.

I found the MidiMini more sterile, thinner and the envelopes much slower.

The oscillator sync was nice though

  • By the way, is the Kick also made by this synthesizer or is that something else?

  • Kick ass bassline bro!!! I have both the Minimidi and Minimoog Voyager Rack and I think that the S.E. midimini sounds better. No preset saving though.

  • Are you sure they haven't implemented that, no preset saving sound a little stoneage for this time where everything is saved and such. Can you do a sysex dump at least of the parameters in Logic for example?

  • is the midi mini the samo synth as midi moog ?

  • I think it depends. Studio Electronics originally tore apart Mini Moogs and made these for people who wanted midi and other features. After awhile, I think they started replicating moog parts and making their own. If I'm wrong, please correct me. I have one of these and it sounds AWESOME. IMO, it sounds more gritty, agressive and phat than the minimoog keyboard. Again, just my opinion.

"Since there wasn't an abundance of people who wanted their Minimoogs turned into a rack, Studio Electronics soon ran out of Model D boards. This led them to produce the MidiMini, which was a clone of the MidiMoog except that instead of using boards from Model D's, they simply built new boards from scratch based on the design and components of the Model D. So the MidiMini offers the same great sound as the MidiMoog and MiniMoog."/misc/midimoog.php
