@PhuzzyGnu, it's an interesting fact that most states (and countries) who have strong anti-gun laws are some of the most dangerous places as suppose to those with a gun friendly culture, which are the safest. No better example of this than El Paso, Texas and Juarez, Mexico.

Good for the officer. If only the citizens of the state of California were afforded the same right of self defense.

The bad guy in this story was not constrained by the illegality of his actions. He didn't care that he couldn't legally own a handgun. He didn't care that he couldn't legally carry that gun.

Who pays the price of gun control? The unarmed law-abiding citizen. Criminals, by definition, don't care about the word of law.
