I'm glad 25 pushups is ridiculously easy for you. And hopefully 50, and then 100 pushups will also be easy in time.
The point though is to make sure your target is achievable and relevant (ie the A and the R in SMART). 50 may not be achievable for some people (considering the % of the adult population that is obese) but it may be easy for others.
And once you've met your initial goal it should then act as a benchmark towards your next.
25 pushups is not only ridiculously easy as a goal but it's shooting below the bar. Aim for 50 pushups. When you hit 25 you'll have archived a BENCHMARK towards your GOAL of 50. That way you won't simply hit 25 and call it good. Benchmarks are good motivators towards goals.
