  • Christianity sealed Rome's destiny

  • This is what the Peagan Gods did to the Roman Empire once The Roman Empire turned its back on them. The Peagan Gods fall, the Roman Empire falls too.

  • Rome expanded by war and had to fall by the war

  • @magikflow956

Not really. Rome expanded through war but fell through corruption.

  • Rome got so big it inflated itself to vulnerability it seems.

  • In The end, The Roman Empire became the victim of political nepotism (and incompetence), decline of patriotism, neglect of the armed forces, failure to uphold its treaties and promises with other nations, failure to accept the sovereignty of other developing nations, and finally a failure to address its own illegal immigration problems. By the end of antiquity, there were more "barbarians" in Rome than ACTUAL ROMANS. Now tell me: why does all of this sound so familiar?

  • @samsandoa25 Sounds really familiar with how you wrote it. Too bad you're full of shit and have no grasp of reality.

  • @samsandoa25 "The reason history repeats itself is because no one listens the first time." - anonymous. Best saying I have ever read.

  • @samsandoa25 You're essentially the advisor to the emperor at 2:20 lol

  • @andyhuangit Or dehumanizing other human beings as "barbarians" rather than to listen to their requests.

  • Who Are To judge what people did in The past

  • Soon there will be a Latino Alaric my friend.

  • Rome was such a great Empire. Such a tragedy that it fell.

  • @andyhuangit In how to handle immigration. Thinking that every 'outsider' is trouble. Rather than trying to find away too exist together.

  • im a soldier of rome, i will not yield!

  • 4:20 that stupid bitch Fucking barbarian

  • People had interesting names back then.

  • In the beginning the Barbarians DID NOT want to destroy the Roman empire in the west.....They wanted to become a part of it. Rome decieved and lied to them. Rome got what they deserved.

  • @ DJ...And they are also a preview of the US's future.

  • "They are irrational. We are controlled by Intellect. They are ruled by base instinct."

In come in handy to have Both. It seems they did. Much to the dismay of Rome, I'm sure..

  • wow, they were the modern day equivalent of the nazis!

  • Immigration problems! why do people always blame immigration? people migrate since forever!

  • @skiptomile And they've been causing problems forever, people don't like it when you try practicing your culture on their doostep. Weird, right?

  • @Kingman1315 you portray Carthage and the Huns as oppressed peoples who only wanted there freedom, well I disagree, Carthage was the nation who invented crucifixion and the plantation system, they were a commercialistic empire that was as bloodthirsty as the Romans even more so as they practiced infant sacrifice. And as for the huns, they weren't exactly paragons of virtue either.

  • Bygybyy

  • Based on the comments below,we can see who the arrogant, self centered, racist one is....

  • obama is a faggot kick him out or kill him

  • Wow.. history has repeated itself.

  • Every Corrupt System Eventually Collapses in on itself. Had Rome been a little more Merciful and Less Barberic, it might have stood a Chance, of surviving longer.

  • I'm glad Rome was sacked and destroyed. It was a pretty rotten system to begin with, but by the 3rd Century (after Marcus Aurelius) it was just plain evil. It taxed its citizens so much that many became slaves just to avoid taxes. Rome was no better than what Zimbabwe is today. After Rome's fall in 476, Europe had a chance to advance Scientifically, Politically, and Liberally. I'd rather be a peasant in 1210 than a pleb in 410

  • i wish rome never had fell, if it hadn't we'd be so advanced right now. all empires fall though, rome, mongolia, british empire, what next? the US?

  • @saulwilliams56 Unfortunately, its probably only a matter of time. The next one is probably China or Russia :) Grab a bottle, hunker down and pray for daylight haha

  • @millaamercer

people have said China would fall for the last 30 years, and did it?no,it grew faster and faster and will soon take over US in 2 decades

  • @ulongkoror China has allready overtaken the USA....and they have the USA to thank.

  • @saulwilliams56 Actually Rome was pretty backwards by the 3rd Century, the burning of the Library of Alexandria, the killing of Archimedes who was the equivalent of Einstein.

Science began to advance after the fall of Rome. Science died when Rome began to focus more on empire building and taxing its citizens to death. Reason why big govt is not the best thing.

  • @saulwilliams56 There is a difference between Fall, Dissolve and Ending oneself. Rome fell, Mongolia dissolved itself with the Yuan dynasty being taken over by the Han dynasty but that was in China, the last of the ruling Mongolians were practically Chinese in their politics. The British Empire ending itself through its own terms and agreement.

  • @saulwilliams56 we are talking about the same bunch of guys that crucified Jesus?

  • @saulwilliams56 probably, our leader is just trying to get re elected through class warfare and congress is just a room where the gop and dems can yell at each other. if the us where to fall though it would probably just separate into different countries based on regionalism, political ties, and or a common market.

  • @saulwilliams56 Roman Empire is still not destroyed, but it will be when Jesus Christ will return. The last Wordly Empire is and will be Roman Empire... youtube.com/watch?v=Iptg-WdN2Eg

  • I liked the part where Olympus stated that the Romans were governed by intellect and the barbarians were governed by nothing but base instinct. The Roman society's long history of sacking cities for greed and gold, assassinating opponents and having your army overthrow the Emperor entirely for the sake of power is obviously not base instinct I see.

  • "first time in 800 years,Rome was suffering siege"

so it happened once in 400 BC?from who?

  • @ulongkoror i think it was the vandals around 455 bc i think

  • @Brillan8 The Vandals didn't exist yet. You are thinking the Gauls. They sacked the city in 390 BC

  • @ulongkoror Rome was sacked by the Gauls in about 400BC, it was extremely humiliating for them and I would suspect help shaped their negative view of "barbarians" at least a little. The Gauls made the Romans pay a fortune in gold but made the mistake of not keeping the city when Caesar came back to haunt them.

In many ways Rome was sacked before Rome became great, since then it had felt it was invincible. A sacking now was a deep metaphor for the idea that the glory days were long gone.

  • @ulongkoror Gauls sacked the city in 390 BC

  • @pierreg666 and then sold it for the higher price...

  • we all should look at this type of documents with an open mind. because its still actor.only thing important is to know that what comes around comes around, period

  • how can the empror control the second largest empire in the world when he cant even dress himself?

  • @Brillan8

second largest?british and mongol empires both contained about 33 million square miles, about twice of rome.and im sure the russian empire was bigger than rome also

  • can someone say "immigration reform" Roman style.omg

  • Savage and cruel, I am glad Rome fell.

  • @Jomsvikingar

There has been no empire in history that hasn't been savage and cruel at some point in its history .....

  • @Jomsvikingar all nations are cruell, the US, Russia, China, the British empire, Mongolia, etc.

  • I think they call it pride

  • I just don't get it Rome had enough time to call all of its army barracks troops together and fight as one. Its all bullshit and doesn't make sense can someone please explain why Rome would have such a stupid system of defending itself, and why it didn't have riders and messengers to tell them who is coming or invading. Am I making a point or what?

  • Comment removed

  • So monstrous...so much suffering...its always the common people who suffer the most. It's always depressing.

  • If you think about it, Rome actually lasted longer than our currrent governmental system which is actually quite amazing. I guess nothing lasts forever.

  • Rome fall because of weak emperors that were corrupted by their so called "wise advisers" like the emperor from this episode for instance...he cant make up his own mind.

  • I can forsee a deja viu in modern days western world. With the influx of muslims into it

  • Stupid Olympius! xD

  • Rome's savagery equalled that of the barbarians so they were bound to suffer the same fate

  • @4uviki Not as savage as the huns

  • @4uviki No Rome should have survived it would have streched and unified the world

  • @lewisgunner1 well u are stupid and childish rome did survive the sack of 410 but it was destroyed later.

  • @zeehanr I meant the Rome as an empire not Rome the city

  • +1000 yrs of decadence. Its fall is only a matter of time

  • Romani ite domum!

  • rome isJust like New York City a place of trade and wealth and power

  • @XxslimchickenxX

yeah, except there's no Costa Nostra in it

  • Rome is THE most historic city in the Ancient World. Without Rome, our world would be shaped differently. How can you say ' make Rome suffer'?

  • @hunfitz That may be so, but Rome was also known for it;s cruelty, deceit, and corruption. It comes as no surprise that many people had a bone to pick with it, let alone habrour a strong hatred for it.

  • @hunfitz If they ordered the execution of your little brother or sister im sure you would be saying otherwise.

  • @hunfitz

Glad to be a descended from Rome.

BTW: Allot of people confuse Italy with Rome; don't forget an actual "city" conquered the known world, not a country. Making Rome even more impressive. No other civilization came close to its genius, organization, duration, and technology Rome had; and they never will. Especially compared to those times where most of the world had rags, and the second biggest city had 20k population while Rome had more than 1.2million at its peak. Equiv to 55 mill now!

  • @Michaeltanase you really need to read some more of the world history...

  • @hunfitz are you really so emotionally dead that you can expect a woman who has just lost her son and a majority of her people to the cruelty of the Romans for no reason other than they are different to respect the history of the city of rome enough to not want revenge against her sons killer?

    you senseless prick

  • @addisonscout woah hes just shareing an opinion. No need to be a dick.

  • @hunfitz

Yes but Athens is more important historic city if you consider

    that the Greeks invented democracy.........

  • @hunfitz

I'm sure a woman who had watched her son killed infront of her would think ... "oh I would have to use different terminology here, Rome would contribute a lot to the civilisations of the future" .....

  • @hunfitz Cause even though rome was great in many ways they supressed many people and destroyed many people. Many have stood up to Rome Hannibal, Atilla but lost. They were only fighting for freedom. Rome got a taste of their own medicine

  • @hunfitz

most historica city in the EUROPEAN ancient world!!!!

why do so many people believe that Europe and the Mediterrian=the world?!?!

  • @ulongkoror Technically, the ancient world did only consist of Europe and the Med'!

  • @hunfitz

for your information,China and India have had civilization over a thousand years before the city of Rome was even founded

  • @ulongkoror yes, but we don't know much about them

  • @gtsgtsgt

are you trying to be funny or are you actually serious?

for over 3000 years,China had EXTREMELY detailed documented history.theres people in the imperial court whose job is to record EVERYTHING that happens in the country, including what the emperor does everyday.they know who was the emperor for every single year and what year to what year every single war was,WAY more information than Rome

  • @ulongkoror again back to my point, we (means general population) don't know much about them, and why is that?

  • @gtsgtsgt

because the general popluation are white, which are mostly arrogant, ignorant, racist, self centered, uneducated, and thinks any non whites arent worth learning about, thats why you dont know about them

  • @hunfitz He's American, so ya know there new to this thing

  • @hunfitz they still deserve it man Rome wasn't a fukan paradigm or something they did alot of fucked up things to gain power. I still like Rome but i agree with making Rome suffer after that.

  • @hunfitz Go tell that to the woman who lost her son to the Romans.

  • @YeeJian1 Romans did what they did out of necessity...not because they were evil. And barbarians brought it on themselfs...and least we forget...how many Romans were killed by barbarians at that time?

  • @Dalbert342 It is true that barbarians and Romans were enemies were a long time, but the barbarians during that time were loyal to the Romans. The general that was killed by the Romans was half-barbarian and half-roman. Yet he served Rome loyally. The Barbarians were wiling to serve Rome. And how were they repaid? By betrayal. Because of one man stupidity, a mighty city like Rome fell.

  • @YeeJian1 I know that the Romans are not evil but how can you say that it was necessary to eliminate a group of non-roman that made up at least most of the population in Rome and the Roman Legion because of fear?

  • @hunfitz just like Barbarians decimated Ancient Rome, guess who's trying to destroy modern Rome(United States)....If you guest terrorists, then you're right.

  • @hunfitz Rome is great I would die for her even though I have not been in it or seen it my family hasnt been in Italy in at least a 150 years since me migrated to the Americas Rome's treatment of the Barbarians is one of the Reasons white people kind of Hate darker people like Romans,Greeks, and Spanish southern European culutures who have a great influence on the world especially America

  • @hunfitz make Rome suffer there u go and it wasnt difficult either

  • @akisgr8101 boy you have no idea what you are talking about. Do you realize that the bones of fathers and fathers died in vain in wandering tribes till they realized they could unite in peace? Pax Romano? It wasn't perfect at all, but it worked. Peace is the goal. Learn from history, or be doomed to repeat it.

  • make rome suffer, kill em, kill em allllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll!

  • Comment removed

  • @Michaeltanase

all the technology is from the romans?lets see,the chinese invented gun powder, paper, printing press, crossbow, compass

chinese empire lasted from around 2000 BC to 1911,while rome only lasted 600 years

rome was destroyed and never recovered, while whenever china got conquered, they bounced back, kicked out their conquerors and restored their culture and supremecy

    cool story bro

  • @ulongkoror

Actually, technically the Romans endured until 1453. The Byzantine Empire was a direct descendant of the Roman Empire, medieval peoples still referred to the Byzantines as "Romans", the term Byzantine only came about in the Renaissance, after Constantinople fell. Taking that into account, the Romans endured for well over 2,000 years, much longer than you initially stated.

Rome also contributed far more than you are giving them credit for.
