  • I wonder if it's possible to mirror polish the warrior katana myself. I do like the look, but it isn't worth the extra hundred to me.

  • 2:45 Fruit ninja!

  • These seem to be really good swords.

lol you're all pricks. it's their job to make swords and demonstrate how good they are, they don't have to use proper stance or swing it properly. the fuk is wrong with you trolls?

  • slicing watermelon like a boss.

  • @fisher1972 Actually they say in some other videos that they carefully preserve the meat and give it to charity.

  • The president of Cold Steel looks awkward and clumsy as Hell wielding those swords. Though it's good to see that he is interacting and partipating. I like being able to see what my warrior katana can do :-)

  • this guy has GOT to be the father of "star wars kid"

  • I don't want to sound arrogant, but I've been training with a Bokken for a while now and for some reason his form didn't see good.

  • @icefiredarksector748 they are no swordmasters, they only produce the swords :P

  • I cannot take this fool serious.

  • How much is very reasonable?

  • cut through iron then we will talk :P

  • looks like quality swords, even though the guy has piss poor technique

  • From reviews online it seems to be a great sword series. sword buyers guide seems to think highly of it. I like their reviews of the 300 dollar'ish level of swords. Most can't afford a 1000+ katana. It's aesthetically pleasing as well. Gonna need a sword for the zombie apocalypse if you run out of bullets anyway right?

  • stop your childish and lame comments please. We are all tired of your "jokes"

  • i can too cut ribs with my kitchen knife

  • This sword should help to take care of those giant enemy crabs that randomly appears in my backyard.

  • I think the swords are cool but the two tone shirts gotta go

  • lol I will get me one of those ;).

  • @jmcommon1

lay off the comments dude we get it

  • blades are surely sharp, but they don't have cut techinque so swords don't show they real cut power....

  • I stil dont take fat people seriously hahaaha

  • these swords are pieces of shit compared to real Japanese steel.

  • of course they dont stand up to japanese katanas,, er derrrrrrrr, but who can afford them anyway ,for the price & the fact it is a strong modern steel sharp as hell & can take alot of abuse , remember its only a modern take on the katana, its just a replica, & for the price they are a nice sword, do you own a real katana

    ?

  • don't worry folks, the meat isn't food. it came from the employee who had an "accident" while making this video.

  • So Ninjas Are Now Out Shape Elderly White Guys?

  • why do they always waste food, there are starving children in Africa

  • @da0ninjew How many times? They don't waste anything. All the food used in these videos is donated to a mission. It's been explained a million times.

  • @Wright805 plus how do these people know that the food is fit for human consumption?

  • by the way id beat the shit outta anyone id see wearing that black and white shirt just on principle !!!!!

  • to be KIND this guy is the biggest dbag ive ever seen . Cold steels knives and everything else blow and this guy blows HARD. id hope anyone interested in iaito or traditional japanese sword making looked at this vid for a laugh !!! otherwise ur as big a dbag !!! fatty

  • this guy must be the most retarded piece if shit ive ever seen. James williams would destroy your retard ass and hes not even that good !!! i hope no one that watches this buys anything with cold steels name on it. dont waste ur $ buy something youd be proud of not horseshit

  • @jmcommon1 you sound mad cause you don't have a quality knife can't get it don't hate on it scrub

  • this fat asshole makes me laugh till i almost vomit ! a disgrace to traditional japanese sword making ! it always takes some fat fuck to ruin a beautiful art. James Williams should fuck ur mcdonalds eating wisconsin or illinois fat ass up !!!!!!

  • what did the tree do to you? and an african could have made a home from that brick! i suppose youl eat the meat fatty

  • lol, bending that sword like that was the most stupid thing ever...and the guy was scared to death

  • cardboard tubes, a few bits of steak, a plastic bottle and some pieces of string - you geezers sure are tough :P

  • any other knife could do that

  • why use meat as a practice target man? thats not very nice. its supposed to be food. why waste it

  • @B0DawGH Nothing gets wasted. All the meat is donated to a soup kitchen.

  • 92 people are fat and like swords

  • @PECEbro make that 93!

  • Cold Steel needs to get people who don't suck to do the demos. Their swords are alright though.

  • lol lynn weres short shorts

  • wow what is that sword made of!?!

  • is there any sword user here who would recomend the o katana? i heard they are well tempered but the balance is off.

  • look its Starwars kid's father!

  • 3:00 was that piss?

  • why do you say weapons at a reasonable price.

alot of your items are quite expensive.

  • It seems like these japanese swords don't cut through the meat as easily as the european or viking swords do. the meat is always hanging a bit but with the european swords they sliced right through. But I'm sure that in a real battle the versitilaty in these japanese swords would be the winning factor. respect from me to them.

  • hey man, do you have a full tang Katana that's at least 1065 carbon steel? Because i'm thinking about trading my sword. if anyone's interested, my sword is a vintage, bought it in the 90's. And back then I bought it for $210.

  • eurobeat > swords

  • Its not a baseball bat....wowwwwwwww no skill

  • nada interesante

  • I wonder what they do with all the meat they waste?-_-.........probably jerky :P

  • the guy bending the blades always ruins it for me

  • @dethmetalsuicide It's a necessary test to show the integrity of the temperment.

  • wakazasahi?? asahi??0-0

  • I want to see them cut that rope at a horizontal, or upward direction. lol

  • the tall dude with the goatee is fuckin badass

  • Whenever i need some of my carpet removed, i will call these guys.

  • 208 interrupted cuts hahha, is that good?

  • please get a proper katana practitioner to demonstrate its capabilities, these guys look like they gonna stab themselves one day lol

  • this is pathetic... 2 fat dudes just watched a few ninja movies and cartoons and bought a katana and think they know anything and any moves... please

  • 2:05 it can cut through cardboard tubes.

  • did these guys eat water melon and meat after words?

  • these guys are so lucky to use them

  • This guy makes such a struggle to cut with their weapons i'm still waiting for a blooper video of him falling down, cutting off his own leg or something. I mean, watch their other videos.

  • @gspradoneto yeah but this clumsy oaf managing to do considerable damage demonstrates how damn sharp these swords are. imagine what a good swordsman could do with them.

  • Why do I feel weird watching this. Put some japanese people in there. It would make more sense. :P

  • @AxRhea88 yea cuz the fat middle aged white guys don't really strike me as swordsmen.

  • @AxRhea88 why? Japanese people can't legally own stuff this cool.

  • @AxRhea88 ur asian

  • @AxRhea88 racist?

  • COLD STEEL IS AWSOME!!

  • ha ha

    Cowardly american use GUN .

Person to person is japanese style.

    American is very very TIMID.

    Fuck GUN society .

  • huh?

  • Last time I checked, you people used guns in WW2 didn't you? Well, until, you know....BOOM

  • @otakara072351

Actually, the person to person style has been used all over the world. Why discriminate against others for the weapons they use?

  • HAHA you can't own a gun! The Japanese didn't invade the U.S. during WWII because they were afraid of of guns! HAHA

  • I want 2!!!

  • i want all of them!!!

  • its wa KI zashi , not wa KA zasi.

    its for indoor combat.

  • @Ak74mn545 Seriously? :O I thought the wakizashi usuallywas an off-hand weapon while having a katana in the main hand.

  • of course ,you right.

but in japanese small house , wakizasi is main arms.

    katana for outdoor combat.

    this relation was like a rifles&CQBweapons."M4&M9" "M16&M1911"

    a supplement : waki- zasi(zashi)=side carry swords

    katana= =ta-chi=big swords ,main swords

    tan-to=chiisa-gatana=knives

  • nn?

    sorry my comment for 93tedd

  • @Ak74mn545

tachi is refering to koto, the longer swords used on horseback before the 16th century. All so-called "katana" are shinto or other later formats, they're shorter, and they're referring to the longer swords after 1500's.

  • @Ak74mn545

it could be used in such a way but it was for indoor use where a Katana is to big.

for duel welding it was more common to use a wakizashi and tanto combo.

  • @Ak74mn545 Sure you ain't thinking about the chisa katana? :S

  • I just wish they were available here in austria =(

  • Nice practical swords at an affordable price! I just wish they were available here in our country!

  • this is not the best japanese serie of CS... pay attention everybody u.u

see the imperial serie if you want a bad ass japanese sword...

  • 2:06 lol ,no sound

  • wow so these katanas are shinken or real blades that is used for cutting.

  • i really have no idea why people have such a bone for jap swords.....

  • my reason is because its really a beautiful looking weapon. Plus if used correctly (meaning knowing how to cut instead of chopping) the sword can slice things like butter. I also like the sabre sword and european foil.

  • The sabre is of european origin too, dutch in fact.

As for the attraction, sometimes i guess

  • I was thinking the same thing: these guys aren't using the swords correctly.

  • Nice. But a storebought kitchen knife could do this.

  • Not really. At 3:44, they are cutting 2 tatami mats at the same time. 1 tatami map is about as hard to cut as a human limb, so I doubt a kitchen knife would do that.

  • very nice SWORD FOR THE PRICE! i WANNA PRImative jungle knife from SOG and a machete from coldsteel and a smaurai sword from cold steel or japan. but then again. this is good enough to hurt any wrong doers that may come to your home

  • Not if that person has a shotgun and is standing 10 feet away from you

  • Pff, hattori hanzo has this beaten so bad!

  • LOL REALLY SHOW PROOF THIS ISNT KILL BILL THOSE ARE JUST REPLICA OF THE MOVIE THEY ARE NOVALTY ITEMS the cost WAY LESS , SHIT WUTS NEXT THE SWORD FROM LAST SAMURAI!!!?? THERE JUST PROPS BRO.GIVE A WEBSITE? iM SURE THAT SOMEWHERE in JAPAN THEY MAKE BOMB ASS SWORDS>

  • Man, calm down, I was just making a joke...

  • Boring...when does he get to slice people?!

  • Nice Video. Keep up the good work.

  • Hello Cold Steel peeps!

tks for making a great product at affordable price ranges.

Question: Wich sowrd do you view as most versatile? The most well all around suited? ...two n a half hand sword?

  • 倭刀源之唐刀,but 唐朝覆滅後 唐刀隧失傳。

  • Not WAKAZASHI but WAKIZASHI

    脇差=わきざし=WAKIZASHI

  • Though the foreigner might not understand

In the Japanese sword, the samurai who is not the tool to fight is no occupation.

    Do you understand?

It is likely not to understand.

  • i wanna try! :)

it sounds close to ''l'habit ne fait pas le moine'' in french.

Its no the sword but the fighting spirit of he who wields it, the warrior himself is the tool of war. The sword is only his extention.

    did i get it?

  • Japan always makes good thing!

  • 日本人が自分からそう言うのも。。

  • o katana is beast.

  • The O Katana is just awesome. Imagine what it'd be like during the zombie apocolypse and yall had one. I bet itd cut through zombie flesh like a hot knife through butter. Them things is pretty to look at too.

  • Holy s**t! Wield 2x wakazashi and immigrants run in fear

  • let me make it plain and simple... i'v seen the C.S. warrior katana in action and i'm tell'n u watchn a video u just dont understand how badass it really is, you can barely even feel it fly right thru the "bone" -crack on the cold steel crew all u want i bet u dont wanna be one facing a warrior katana tho

  • How much is the last Katana?

  • many times it is pronounced Wakizashi : meaning "side arm" in traditional Japanese. The wakizashi was usually worn together with the katana by the samurai or swordsmen of feudal Japan.

  • I strongly agree

  • why do all the men look like serial killers?

  • how else do you get a job testing swords?

  • Wouldn't it be cool to slice watermelon like that at the next company picnic?

  • I call bullshit on that. Japanese swords aren't the best in the world. They're good at what they do but they aren't the best. There is no "Best sword." You've just bought into the hype. Despite what anime, manga, and TV tells you katanas cannot cut tanks in half nor will they slice other swords in half.

  • the katana is the #2 cutting blade behind the scalpel. it will slice through your skull like butter :)

  • Dude, katanas are sharp but not nearly that sharp and for good reason. A super-sharp sword on the battlefield will chip like noone's business. They're very sharp and well made swords, but they do not outclass everything out there. I personally prefer the European longswords for their versatility.

  • i promise of this fact. a proper draw can wop a limb right off as if there was no resistance. Those cardboard and tatami mats that he's cutting up...simulate the density of bone. i like longswords too. but thats a hacking weapon. it'll take a limb off just the same.... but a iaido master would quickly decapitate the situation. i stopped studying iaido myself about a year ago... interesting stuff

  • The longswords aren't hacking weapons. They are very capable of cuts and slashes though in that department the katana does outclass it since it's shape lends itself to be mechanically superior. This is countered by the longsword being superior in thrusts. Like the katana in slashing, this is because it's design is mechanically superior in this department. As for the tatami mats and the cardboard tube, those are capable of being cut by a blunt longsword.

  • thats what i'm saying, i know take limbs/cut the tatami. but watch the form and how akward swinging a broadsword is on your body.... what i'm pushing at is kenjutsu is a pristine art and is hard to appreciate until better understood. the general rule of thumb for kenjutsu is about three strokes then someone's head is lost. someone masterful enough to parry/fake out someone that quick. dont you think they'd have enough speed to outdo whatever the broadsword brought down on him?

  • The speed and skill would rely on the practitioner and not the sword. As for the schools of sword training, if you really looked at it, they are very similar. Also broadsword and longswords are two different sword types.

  • Actually, if you go and look at their hand-and-a-half video, you'll see how well you can swing a European bastard sword, and how quickly you can recover to swing again.

Also, you're forgetting that a Broadsword is a shorter, heavier blade meant for sword'n'board fighting... so the iaido master would have to deal with a large chunk of steel-banded wood blocking his line of attack.

I've seen kendo guys sparing with SCA guys, and the one with the shield tends to win.

  • @EvilCleric True, they will not cut tanks in half nor will they slice other swords in half (at least not any of decent quality), but they truly are the best at what they do. There are swords that beat them at other things, but not at what Katanas do best. Or, at least i've never heard of such a sword.

  • @TheSpamspamspamspam i saw one break a stainless sword easily and it kicked the crap out of a well made rapier. and they couldnt even break it with a claymore that one of the people couldnt lift.

  • @attackoftherandom You probably saw the Mythbusters episode. However you neglected to mention that the stainless steel sword was more of a replica piece and you've clearly missed the point of the rapier as it not meant to be utilized in such a way. Also they used the same method on several other swords and the aforementioned claymore received a massive gauge not from a katana but a sword styled after the ones that vikings used.

  • @EvilCleric i know what the main purpose of a rapier is. i was just saying it was still pretty cool. and i wasnt saying that the katana damaged the claymore (i dont think i said that anyway it was like 2 am when i said that) i was just saying that the claymore didnt break the katana wich is pretty awesome.
