  • @theporkiestpig007 Thanks. Well the suspended toms are actually not the issue. In that room the drums are on a small stage area. The floor is like trampoline and that is what is causing the movement.

  • what sizes?

  • @NickNoRtHeRnLiGhTs 10x8, 12x9, 16x16, 22x20, 14x6.5 (all are diameter x depth).

  • 0:29 totally phil collins tribute lol

  • MCX snare as well? Nice sounding kit.

  • @IrbeJr The snare is a Pearl FreeFloating Copper 6.5x14.

  • What tom skins do you use?

  • @Edwardo1993 Evans G2 Coated.

  • Fine playing, fine tuning. I do think your snare could use a bit of deadening, or maybe bring the resonant head up a little depending on your batter head tension. Would love to hear how this kit would sound with a room mic!

  • COMPRESSION COMPRESSSION!! I think compression makes drums sound WAY better

  • I don't know why these people are saying great kit bad drummer. The best drummers are ones who can play good, do good fills and rolls, but also keep the beat. I'm sure you could go off all wild and crazy and make a great drum solo, but it's really nice to here just a straight beat with some improvisation and fills. Those are the types of studio drummers and band drummers that make the most money.

By the way, do you have a band? Let me know, if not, I'd still love to hear more of your stuff :)

  • great sound it's funny how shallower toms seem to have a really deep sound!

  • i will litteraly do anything for your kit, and i love your cymbals. what are they ?

  • @pearlreferencelover Thanks! The cyms are all Sabian and are as follows:

    Hats - 14" HH Regular

    Ride - 21" HH RBDR

Left Crash - 16" HHX Evolution

    Right Crash - 20" APX

  • well tuned great sound

  • oké! nice drumkit but `bad drummer`. It´s one and the same ritme all the time. Come one be creative, you can do so much more on a drumset.

  • @mijnmening1 Thanks for your comment. I feel like a scolded pet. lol

  • @randyrossdrums nice drumkit and good drummer :D it might be not a whole lotta rhythm variation here but people have made entire drumsolos just playing one "simple" rhythm and got paid tons of money for it.... anyway...i enjoyed your video

  • where can i buy this set and how much?

  • amazing :o

can u give me stats like sizes, wood type

    tuning and heads??

  • WOW, what finish is that?

  • aax raw bell dry ride? :P

  • @flyingcows547 Close, 21" HH RBDR. I have tried all the Raw Bell Dry Rides and they all sound great. The HH just has a bit darker of tone.

  • Great kit, nicely tuned. But for my preferences the snare rings a little too much.

Try moon gel or tape, if you don't like it.

  • @Credative I was going for the over ring on that at the time. I usually run 1/2 moongel to clean it up a bit. Thanks!

  • do they still sell this kit in this color

  • @mrboverbro You probably could find one a a music store but this was a limited edition run. There are details on the Pearl site.

  • Sounds awesome! What is the snare?

  • @Pearl3Drummer that is the Pearl Free Floating Copper 14x6.5. Thanks!

  • OMG how'd you get ur toms to sound like that?! they sound amazing. waht heads are on it?

  • @MarkusBeavis Just a little tuning. At the time I had Evans G2 Clear heads on top and the factory Ambassadors on bottom. Matched the pitch of the top and bottom.

  • @MarkusBeavis The heads are Evans G2 Clears on the batter side of the toms. The reso's are the factory Remo Ambassadors. I tune my toms a little higher than average and match the pitch of the top and bottom heads.

  • THNX, indeed the price is low :)

  • Hello, can u tell me what mics u are using on the toms? They souns awesome!!

  • @Lowrider80cu Thanks! I use the Audio Technica MB DK4 Drum Mic Pack. Out of that kit I use the MB5K's on the 10" and 12" toms and I use the MB6K on the floor tom. The MB6K is advertised as a kick mic but I use either an AKG D112 or Shure Beta 52 on the kick. The MB DK4 is a very inexpensive kit and for the price I can't really complain.

  • i want such a kit !!!!!!!! :S

  • Can i marry this kit? PLZ REPLY

  • @OFFICALTHREEHALFS By all means yes, but there will be a hefty dowry.

  • @randyrossdrums Ok :)))

  • How do you have them tuned?

And the snare has this weird overtone to it, you know what I mean? Everything else sounds awesome though

  • great sound

  • What a great sounding kit and stunning to the eyes!

  • @bish1309 Thanks!

  • Killer looking and sounding kit!

Those traditional size toms cut through,

I would prolly gone with the EC2's on the toms and G1 clears on the reso side.

For snare prolly the Hybrid coated or ST head. Check the Gmad out for the kick!

They rock!! Seriouslly, killer kit man!! congrats

  • freaking awesome. very impressed. im thinking of buying a masters kit.

  • I watched it again and I'm stunned again! It's really one of the best drum-kit sound to me!What heads did you use for toms and bass drum? (Evans G2 on snare right?)

  • @alucard0712 Thanks!!! The kick is the factory powerstroke3. The toms are G2 Clear and the snare is G2 Coated.

  • @randyrossdrums Thanks for answer man! This sound and those heads will be my starting point in this long sound journey! ;)

  • @randyrossdrums That is one aweful sounding drum :P Great playing sir.

  • You have to upload some vids of your refs! :p

  • orgasm

  • @ilovesabian1n1 Thanks.... I think.... hehehe

  • i have the pearl session...

do you thinks its possible to get the sound that you have on your masters from my set?

  • @mryamaha31 I have a set of sessions as well. I love them. You can get a great sound out of them. I'd suggest looking at your head choices and tensions. I tune both top and bottom heads higher than most people prefer and match the pitches of them. Maybe give Evans G2 Coated on top and Evans reso on bottom.

  • @randyrossdrums thanks....your advice has been very helpful.

  • i am really digging your pdp platinum saturn burst back there !!!

  • 0:29-0:32 nice phil collins reference bud. :P

  • Master is fantastic!

    I have the Master Premium..

  • r the mics good or the drums?

  • @glitchhacker101 The mics are pretty much the cheapest you can get for drum specific mics. The drums are amazing, mic'd or not.

  • @randyrossdrums thanks man!

  • by the way what ride are you using? HH Raw Bell Dry Ride? HHX Power Ride?

  • @DrumCoalitionWithWar The ride is a HH Raw Bell Dry Ride. Good ears!

  • DUDE YOUR SICK!!!

    I ENVY YOUR PEARLS

  • @DrumCoalitionWithWar thank you! much appreciated!

  • @randyrossdrums

When i actually get old enough to get a job, i'm going to work my ass off for a set of Pearls, and some new Zildjian K's :) keep jammin man, you sound good behind the kit

  • incrediblel kit

  • just saying, but im almost 100% that thats masters custom MCA kit, i know because ive got one im currently paying off, they are fucking beautiful

  • this kit would sound amazing with evans coated G2's

  • @00ThePolice00 hahaha.. that is funny as that is now what is on the kit. And you are correct!! It does sound deadly. I plan on a doing another video in the coming week.

  • @randyrossdrums haha awesome man.

  • @00ThePolice00 no evans ec2 clears have so much clarity and cut but are a little extra but also have a muffling ring so theyre are good for punchy sounds

  • I know that no one unerstand me, but in French musical "Romeo and Juliette" drummer plays on exact same drum-kit! :))))))

  • the finish is amazing of this drum kit ...

  • These drums sound awesome, I just hate the mounting system Pearl uses...

  • is it possible to have a long sustain for tom with dark heads?

  • @nazzare79 yes. Just a matter of tuning.

  • this drumkit sound very good...is this made of maple wood?

what's in your opinion the best and the cheapest maple drumkit I can buy?

  • Comment removed

  • what is your drum configuration? (sizes) what snare especially!

  • Very cool, and thanks for the info. I was there when the boxes were opened and they did say MCA as well. My buddy never played them. He just looked at them and when he said he was going to sell them ,Well I'm still drooling. Love the video's and keep them coming. As you know the sound is UNREAL. I will post some pix when the 8 and 14 arrive. Keep on rocking...............E

  • Great Job Man. I just bought the exact same kit from a friend who upgraded to the tama star classic bubinga. 6G's he payed. I got these for 2G's with the snare. 8 and 14 floor as well.( Should be in this week. On order 6 months now). They were ordered as MCA but the kick reso says MCX. Any info you may have on this kit would be great. There is not much out there about them. I just love the sound of this beautiful kit. I was even wondering the proper name of the finish. Is yellow burst correct?

  • @38hightower Gratz on your purchase. You will love them. No pics of videos do the finish any justice. You will know what I mean when you see it. The kit has all the same specs as MCX but the boxes do say MCA. The finish is call Mapa Burl Honey Burst (officially). The tone and quality are second to none in my opinion. For more info you can look at the pearldrummersforum and find stuff there. I have a post there about them.

  • Awesome kit! It sounds great.

  • how is your tunining my friend? tension, heads etc? sounds incredible your drumset i mean i know is a master custom, now i have a mapex saturn. i am not that satisfied with my actual sound i mean i love saturns maybe its me lol, i have remo clear emperor on toms. any recommendations for me? thanks

  • I run my tension fairly high and pitch both tom and bottom heads to match. The toms are G2 Clears on top and factory Remo Ambassadors on bottom. I have no muffling on the toms or snare.

Your drums should have great tone. Google the "drum tuning bible". It has been my cornerstone for tuning. Hope that helps and thanks for the comments.

  • it's 16th note triplets but played RH/LH/RF/LF. The count would be 1-trip-let-and-trip-let 2-trip-let-and-trip-let 3-trip-let-and-trip-let 4.

    Hope that helps.

I will make a video lesson on this if you want.

  • that's awesome man! this will be my next kit eventually, now i have the vision. but what snare is that? sounds good.

  • It's actually the MCA series. The A stands for Artisan. It's exactly like the MCX but with the exotic Mappa Burl Maple. I just ordered this exact kit in Ruby Black Burst over the Mappa Burl Maple. Sounds great Pearl Forum member. I'll let you know when mine comes.

  • die base klingt nicht wirklich toll....liegt das an der aufnahme?

the base doesn´t sound so good...is it because of the recording?

  • Yeah, the mic placement and the fact that I mixed on headphones is the reason that the kick is less than preferred. In person it sounds amazing and I am working on getting the mic placement ideal.

  • oh ok, good to know this...thank you!

is the microphone inside the basedrum or outside?

and how did you set your equlaizer?

  • The mic was outside the kick. The mic is a D112 and I have the kick ported. When I run the mic in the port it is a little too 'clicky' for my tastes. I think I have it worked out now though by redoing the EQ. I had the 4k range lowered too far and the 120hz range too high.

  • This is the MCX series? It's available in this finish?

  • kick ass stuff Randy! Nice!

  • Beautiful kit. Gotta love that MCX series. I wish they would have had that finish when I bought mine.

I would however like to hear some more bass drum in the mix. Great sound overall though

  • that finish just looks amazing...
