duno if your online mattdean but anyway, i do the jump and sometimes i clear the bridge aswell but on every one of my attempts it never goes into slow-mo mode to register the jump :S
make sure you back up as far as you possibly can so you can get up to full speed. You'll get it after a few tries, otherwise I can't think of a reason it wouldn't register.
