I add this comment : non musicians will enjoy such an app, but I think only musicians will really create something new with it. In a certain sense this kind of problem was already raised when the first synthesizers appeared. Some people thought it was not interesting because they believed you could create with it not being a musician, which was untrue. On the same hand, Stellanûr is right to mention the question of price about the apps like Filtratron.
@cullyvan you are right - but this way, they are much more affordable - as long as you have a device to use them on ;)
but what you also have to keep in mind, this type of interface makes it much easier for "non-musicians" to play around, enjoy and create something new - it is more intuitive and easier to use, i heard that from a lot of people already. and it's worth it as long as only 1 person likes what comes out of it - even if this is only the person who "plays" around with that toy ;)
@cullyvan This video is very interesting. I share Stellanûr's answer, thinking also these apps allow to create new playing way by the intuitive digital approach you would not exactly find on a physical instrument, or classical synth software, as well as the digital screen of the Voyager allows you to work with the substance of sound different from the single keyboard playing.
Mine seems to have ..... erm .... broken now! I was playing around with it & having a blast. Now all of sudden it won't make a sound! I tried restarting the iphone. Nothing! All the other apps are making sound okay. Had a weird problem with it just before it went tits up where the ipod app just started playing on its own! My Filtatron seems to be dead :(
Got this today myself. Looks pretty good. I'd like to find out more about the audio processing capabilities. Can you process external audio through this using one of the available interfaces? (such as the guitar i-rig thing).
@Dogboy73 I have not tried this yet, but have already written a mail with the same question to the Moog Support. I wonder if they know if a passive (iRig) or active (Peavey) interface would be better for sound quality. You will need, however, something to plug your audiosource in - or you use the internal mic, which is set as standard and will start working when you amp up the line signal.
@stellan0r I did read somewhere that the Filtatron works with iphone audio interfaces but I'm not sure how reliable the information was. Would be great if this does work but for the time being I'll have a mess around with the inbuilt mic. Cheers :-)
"...I think either interface will get the job done. Using a passive interface would reduce the risk of ground loops and/or buzzing and that may be helpful to you. I would try both (if you have access to both) and see which you like the best...."
So it will work, no matter which one you use. But as the Peavey Interface has active circuitry to protect from feedback I will probably try that one
@Dogboy73 btw try this: plug in headphones, use the preset "droning". stop the sample that plays, then go to main screen and set line level to 80-100%.
then hum into the mic, make noises, clap, type on your keyboard (if the mic of your iTouch is close enough)... :-)
@stellan0r Check out the Erik Norlander video using keyboard through iRig with no feedback or anything at all on our YouTube page. Erik is more than a touch knowledgeable about Moog gear too, so he's probably a good example to follow :)
I have this and i just dont understand it.

How did you make it work on an iPad? I could only sync it with IPod touch.

@Dogboy73 This is what I got from Moog:
