and tbh at first i thought the "special challenge" was maybe to try the game until you got it perfect, as in, all of one powerup, which would give you 8 lives i believe?

That palace wasn't meant to be a trap. I didn't realize that that would happen. When I tried it, it worked fine, I'll have to get back to you on that when I update it more. About the level leading to the palace, I accidentally overwrote the level that was supposed to be there, a water level, so I made do with what I had. I'm sorry that happened, and I'll finish working on that ASAP.
