Hahaa. Several commenters here only prove what Brian knew all along:
UK site Television Heaven:
Brian Epstein, the Beatles manager, was so horrified of what the British public may have thought that he banned the series from being shown in the UK. When The Beatles cartoon series premiered on ABC's Saturday morning line-up at 10:30 am EST on September 25th 1965 it captured an unprecedented 52 per cent of the audience.
The show proved to be extraordinarily profitable. But in the early 1990s the series' rights were purchased by the Beatles own company Apple Corps. Ltd. Since then they have been kept firmly out of sight.
Wow, Paperback Writer was used in a Beatle cartoon? I had no idea. "It's a dirty story of a dirty man" in a 60's children's cartoon? Racy stuff! Ha ha! Mommy wouldn't have liked that! Come to think of it, mommy didn't like The Beatles at all.
The cartoon Beatles voices sounds alot different than the real Beatles voices. In the cartoon, Ringo sounds alot like George, George sounds like an irish scout, Paul sounds like a younger American guy, and John sounds like an older American guy.
Oh man, these voices! Especially George's, it's like they've never heard his actual voice before! Oh well, it's only a cartoon, and a funny one at that!
Paul voice is the only one that sounds close. Ringo's kiiinnda has the same attitude, but not low enough. George voice...omfg. So inacurate, but it still has the same kind of kindness in it. And Johns is NO WHERE close. Its actually a really good cartoon though. I love the animation in this, especailly how they animated John. <33:)
I recognise Paul and Ringo but it was a little hard for the ohter two, why does one talk like a mix between Swedish, German and... something else? XDD
haha I was thinking of what they'd say if they ever sat down and watched this...I love how John sounds like the complete opposite of what he was. Good vid though, thanks for posting!
When these were out, my family didn't have a TV, so I'd sit with all the other kids of the neighborhood on Saturday and watch this series. We never missed it. And the music was the best. It was a real treat. Thanks for posting this!
