Every generation says that but every generation has some shit thrown in with some greatness. Those shows suck but there's gotta be some good stuff out there that our kids' kids will look back on as "classic." In summation, let's all get off the "good ol' days" high horse, because at the end of the day, we're listening to really fucking awesome music from the mid 2000s.

I agree but sometimes it is possible to see when good music is easier available. The mid 00's were filled with great music but now it is going down. The 80's and 90's were terrible. The 50's, 60's, 70's great. Just my opinion. But I believe that culture can have objective high-points and better times.

Of course its all objective. Like, I feel right now there's amazing music, you just need to know where to look. I prefer bands like Dr Dog, Delta Spirit, Golden Shoulders, Man Man, Ike Reilly, Christians and Lions, etc bands you don't hear about. The 50s-70s are great but don't forget a lot of retro/nostalgia sensibility plays a part of that. Then you have guys like Neil Sedaka who take the whole era down a good deal. You can't ignore the bad. We romanticize that period.
