@cookieandchips I have no idea and when I try to find out, it will only let me change it and not tell me what it is called. Sorry! I've had several people ask the same thing.
Hi, I just had a question and thought you would be a good person to ask about. After a mom has a litter, how long does the baby(s) have to stay with the mom for milk till they can survive on their own. My teacher let me watch her mice and they gave birth and she said i could keep the babbys but i don't know how long they need to be with their mother before i return the mom back to her. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks
@andrewjconners Hi, at apprx 21 days, they should be ready to be weaned from the mother mouse. Their eyes will be fully opened and they will be hopping around a lot, hence the name "hoppers"! If you don't feel they are ready at that time, waiting a bit longer will not be harmful to any of them.
About a year ago I brought home 2 girl mice and then i discovered that they were pregnant and then 2 days later they had babies..I love my mice to death
@jmellencampfan i used to have a sick fish so i fed him worms to keep him active
my nanna was like "that's cruel, you're sick and twisted for doing that" i don't know about anyone else but i don't like being called sick and twisted for small things like that. Same goes for the mice and the snake and snake owners who get all kinds of badmouthing
@Lerm53 don't be naive, reptiles have the right to be alive and to eat well too. don't use your pity and compassion to interfere with how Nature works.

@jmellencampfan (yeh i no i breed mice too :D) but how many did she have cause she looks pretty big. what is the biggest litter 1 of ur mice have had (like how many in one litter)? :D
@jmellencampfan Hey is it good to have 8 females and 2 males in 1 big box cuz its not such big its like wide 50cm And lenght 30cm is this tall enoguh for 10 mouses 2 males and 8 females so they dont bite each babies or kill eachother
@senk8drol That is a bit small for 10 mice, especially when they begin to have babies. You may want to split them up into two containers with 4 female to 1 male ratios. Mice can sometimes fight over who has all the babies and they will try and collect them from the other moms and this can result in loss of your babies.
cute, can i buys one? xxx

I'ts sad because the pink mice are used for feed animals such as little snakes and bearded dragons.
Lerm53 3 months ago 4
@Lerm53 But those animals need to eat as well... Reptiles in captivity cannot locate their own prey, so someone must provide it for them.

@Lerm53 what's the problem with that?
it's the circle of life if you will.. if snakes didn't eat mice, mice wouldn't make as many young

@jmellencampfan What do you have to do to become a registered animal breeder? How does it all work?

pOcKyIsLoVe1 4 months ago
if a mouse has nipples does that mean there pregnat
LilCakee 11 months ago
@LilCakee You can almost always see a mouse's teats, so that wouldn't really tell you if she were pregnant.
If she looks like she swallowed a ping pong ball or two... then she will be having babies soon!
jmellencampfan 11 months ago
They are SO cute... How many babies did she end up having (the really pregnant 1)? :D
mytii21 1 year ago
@mytii21 On average a healthy mouse will have 8-10 babies.
