@lrd9999 I wasnt talking about this song in particular. Actually this song is a good strong song for her and shows off her talent. And, I agree that she would have had a way bigger career in Europe. I think Europe may have adopted her as their own Babs. Ros is a wonderful talent.

there is an honest and clear directness to her vocals i never quite hear in barbra's music..babs always seems to be so aware of her persona, her towering presence, and it can detract from her performance...i agree Roslyn should have pursued a different style of music than pop, but, she probably could have also benefitted from the vision of a different manager as well...

@BeezerTwo Barbra did do what she can to help her it was Barbra that got her a deal to do her first album but the album just did not sell well although that was also because the record was not publicized very much. For some reason Barbra and her sister seem to have really grown apart from each other through the years ad her brother you hear absolutely nothing about who sells real estate I believe he lives in N.J. Barbras relationship with her siblings is quite a mystery and never talked about

What a hindrance to be continuously compared to a family member! If she was an only child people would just consider her to be a talented individual. Stop with the comparisons already! As if Streisand needs what some people consider to be a lesser talent to build her up.Please.Babs is a Goddess period...I really like Ros and I think she would have had a big career on her own merit if she was tough like B and fought for good producers and better material. Maybe Roslyn was just plain too nice.

This indeed was live, sung with the orchestra. This show minimized lipsynching. I know because I worked with a singer who appeared many times on it.

the big mistake is she should have gone into a completely different forum of music instead of pop like melodies like her sister. If she would have gone into rock music she could have made it really big and she would not have had that Barbra's sister thing hanging over her head most of her life or the constant comparison.

@kyolym Yes...I was just thinking the same thing...She would have to have done something completely different to Barbra or maybe exactly the same thing with very strong, melodious pop songs...but certainly not mediocre songs that were probably Streisand rejects. So much of pop success is the material that you sing.

@susuemikado This song is no Streisand reject; all the other versions of it were by rock bands. She might have done a better in the UK, as she sounded a lot like Shirley Basssie. Even now, singers like Duffy, Adel and Amy Winehouse do better over there than here.

There are so many similiarities to Barbra, but this voice has more soul. If she had intelligent producers there's no reason why she couldn't have been just as great as her sister.

Love this arrangement and her vocal style is superb. She may not sing in the fancy style of her sis but then I don't like that style. This is great stuff.

Not lip synched. Live from, I believe, the Sullivan Show before she even did her first record for RCA. She was even then very self-confident and sure-footed as a performer.  She didn't look this way long. A year later she was slim and blonde.

The problem: her big sister came out BEFORE her and takes the world in storm. Barbra has too more authenticity ....

Roslyn and her way of singing was always to much close to Barbra......
