I was in the audience for this performance. Television City is one of the best studios in the entire USA. Audiences are treated to the best in talent. We saw two nights worth of performances, all the blackout sketches, and some that didn't make it to air. Dwight and his band were very appreciative. Got to see Ian McKellen (Gandalf) do a sketch.
I think an artist should change up a song and make it their own. If not, I will just listen to the original. This song was meant to be done more slowly and soulful like Dwight. Buck RIP would approve. :)
Dwight is always on key - maybe it's nor the original key, but he changes songs and usually makes them better. I love this version and excellent performance! It's soulful. Thanks for posting it.
The two minute longer version on his DWIGHT SINGS BUCK CD is easily the best track of an outstanding album. Dwight almost single handedly saved traditional country music, how anyone can say he can't sing is beyond me.
i know i'm gonna get yelled at 4 this one but in my opnion, dwight sucks!! he sounds awful. can't carry a tune in a bucket. proof is here. killing a perfectly good buck owens song
@bowlin3483 You do realize he's singing this song in a different key and a different style, don't you? I don't know where you got the idea that he can't carry a tune since he never strayed off key or out of tune anywhere in this clip.
this man, along with george strait, keep the REAL heart of country music alive. "who's gonna fill their shoes?" asked by George Jones....these guys are doing it.
wow, this is perfect, i was really hoping this album took off more than it did.. but i guess what he really needed was a totally new album with new music
if i were his drummer i would use a rim shot in the verse..

@bob02vw Buck will roll over if you think that a Strat would be used in his sound. It has to be a Tele.

Dwight is Excellent.
Before My very Elderly Mom 89 Years Old Died She Thought He was Great , she Said He Has a Hot A'zzz. That's Cute for an Elderly lady To Say.
I Can't Believe Sharon Stone Said All Those Terrible Things about Him Years ago.
He is Truely a Great Artist , and Yes He does have a Cute A'zzz.
