With Chopin´s music i feel i am at home, i am in the best place, in the rigth garden, in the rigth forest. With his music i feel i am in front of a wonderful flower arrangement, or in a marvelous precinct. And even if there is sadness in his works, his magical musical architecture overwhelms sorrow or hopelessness. He touches the sky and makes it available to his listeners. He is a true benefactor for human beings, coaching people to listen to the great harmonies the universe has to offer.
@The55555SSSSS what was great about those times was that talent and fame went together. (eg Wagner) today the most famous are Ke$ha etc who writes songs that loop the same 4 chords or so with no contrapuntal depth whatsoever. (sounds ok when its folk music but then folk has cultural meaning too)
@callenishss ...i don't think so, you mismatch your theorie of "talent and fame went together", there was no chopinmusic for every normal guy, like today is popmusic, you will agree that todays noble academics society,
is not less sophisticated as tose Copin lovers in "those times".
@The55555SSSSS Wagner wrote many excessively vituperative, and schockingly anti-semitic things abt. Meyerbeer and and his music. However, that he secretly admired this man can be heard throughout his own operas: dramatic situations, orchestration, certain kinds of melodic curves very characteristic of Meyerbeer, show up everywhere in Wagner. f.ex. compare the coronation scene in Prophète with the Kirchgang in Lohengrin. Meyerbeer is a great and very underrated composer.
