  • GOOD JOB. PERFECT SONG...

  • Well, John McCain was the son of an Admiral in command in Vietnam and was screwed up 8 years

  • What you mean?! This song has always been associated with the Vietnam War and was released in 1969.

From Wikipedia: "This song was popular during the Vietnam War ..... The song symbolizes the thoughts of a man who is being drafted. This spoke out against the war in Vietnam. It is sung from the perspective of one of these men (who is not the son of a Senator, millionaire, or military leader, thus not a 'fortunate son'), who ends up fighting in the Vietnam War."

  • terrible song choice...yeah yeah it was in Forrest Gump but completely out of context...i do agree with you and the men who died and fought there do deserve recognition.

    Thank you men.

  • Vietnam was messy business. We probably shouldn't have gone there, but i respect all soldiers who fought there and they deserve it for what they went through.

Too bad so many didn't do it then.

  • you do know the song is protesting the war and the singer was against going to war. he supported the hiooies

  • The Americans Gave up, north vietnamese communists won the war

  • shut the fuck up

  • They did lose the war!,

  • too many ppl died for an unnecessary thing.

  • fortunate son by ccr

  • what's the song called?

  • in 1968 in the tet offensive Americans killed 92,000 vietcongs while americans only suffered 2,400 deaths

2,400 vs 92,000 do the math

for every American that died 20 vietnamese were killed

It wasnt a military defeat America could have continued the fighting for another 20 years....it was a political victory for the north vietnamese communist

  • US military deaths 58,000

    Viet-Cong deaths 1.4 million

Vietnamese civilian deaths including south vietnamese army 2.2 million

americans only suffered fractions of what both the north and southern viet militaries

  • P.O.W. Lost but not forgotten

Isn't that a rather lame comment to put forward?

Have you watched the whole film.

It has a war section, yes! ...the rest is also a Bl**dy FAB film!!!

Just curious as to whether you're keeping that fence warm :)

  • and while your talking about a film, not the war

  • if US soldiers are trained like the GURKHAS and fight like the GURKHAS they too can prove in land combat but....
